@365Tito
I know but there are key differences with interpreted and compiled languages
F4lc0131
@Nik300
Well, yeah that’s not the most used way to run executables... but that’s a huge step forward..
Let’s wait ‘till someone develops something more like to a compiled language
The fact is that the language should be versatile at the point that every OS developer can develop his APIs and system functions
KM198912
@KM198912
yeah but implementing that will take a while, for no i have a higher prioririty, i managed with quajak to get a double buffer working but it somehow causes the machines to lock up
F4lc0131
@Nik300
Oh ok I was trying to work on double buffering too
KM198912
@KM198912
maybe you can look and maybe you see why it locks up?
F4lc0131
@Nik300
Before my computer screwed up
I was trying to work on double buffering too
F4lc0131
@Nik300
THANKS YOU JUST GAVE ME A HUGE HELP!! I’ll start from your project... maybe trying to fix the problem (if it’s fixable of course)
KM198912
@KM198912
no problem :)

@Nik300
Guys I think we should create a telegram group... to have a more detailed chat and live alerts of who’s writing or who has read the message

We talked about Discord but in the end we stayed with Gitter

So, how would I install the OS in the drive and make it so it runs after computer boots?

What happened to #1099 ?
M.O.O.N #blacklivesmatter
@MOONVRCHAT_twitter
So, i just found this project; I installed VS-2019 and all the dependencies, then i installed VMWare Workstation 15 Player, Now when i try to run my code though, it throws me this exception: And im unsure what exactly it means, http://files.moonvrc.com/screenshot-2020-06-05-11-32-35-e6ad9943820ad9684c37a4c5.png

See #1332
KM198912
@KM198912
its the newest Visual Studio, best thing to do is downgrade for now
M.O.O.N #blacklivesmatter
@MOONVRCHAT_twitter
Alright im gonna use the recommended version mentioned in #1332

Guys is it possible to write into the different sectors of the disk, or I can just read and write into the partition??
Because maybe I found a solution to write partition tables to the disk
And to crate an MBR support
Quajak
@quajak
You should be able to write to the disk directly using the drivers
F4lc0131
@Nik300
Thanks man
I’ll work on partition tables and get the whole thing working
Quajak
@quajak
cool
F4lc0131
@Nik300
Guys I’m learning a lot about OS Development by developing my own kernel in cpp, so as long as I learn something new, I’ll try to get it working on Cosmos
Just a question, do you want support for MSDOS partition scheme (MBR) or you want to create a new Partition scheme??
Or maybe both
KM198912
@KM198912
wouldnt MBR in the long run be better for dual boot support for example?
F4lc0131
@Nik300
Yes but our partition table would be simpler to implement and would be way more customizable than MBR
KM198912
@KM198912
i think both is a good option, MBR for dualbooting (eventually) and the own for singule installst
installs
is what i think
F4lc0131
@Nik300
Yah it’s a good idea but we should leave the option to os developers
*yeah
I’ll work first thing first on MBR and than we’ll see
Maybe we should just implement an API for developers to create their own partition table
So to give more flexibility to os development and stuff like that
KM198912
@KM198912
all i can say is i have successfully tested FAT32 with up to 30GB space
F4lc0131
@Nik300
I think that implementing a partition table support would help a lot our current situation regarding hard drives
Because right now we only have support for filesystems right??
Filesystems like Fat32
KM198912
@KM198912
FAT in general
i think there is only one that isnt supported
just dont know out of my head which
FAT types are:
FAT12
FAT16
FAT32
ExFAT (Not supported by Cosmos)
F4lc0131
@Nik300
Ok so we need support for ExFAT and MBR in general right??
