@everdreamsoft
hi guys
does any one have info about counterwallet ? It doensn't display newly created asset they are invisible. Works on my personal instance but not on CW
Nelson Castillo
@arhuaco
@everdreamsoft This is an open issue.
@everdreamsoft See: CounterpartyXCP/counterwallet#732
If you are testing (and decide to trust the site), you might want to experiment with https://counterwallet.coindaddy.io so see what happens with it.
everdreamsoft
@everdreamsoft
oh I see ! Thanks
Nelson Castillo
@arhuaco
Coindaddy's counterwallet is down and counterwallet.io is not updating balances. Is there another (kind of trusted) mirror?
everdreamsoft
@everdreamsoft
@arhuaco I have a node. I guess you can't consider it trusted :/ but at least it works.
Is this problem occuring to some people or everyone who create a new asset ?
everdreamsoft
@everdreamsoft
Hello ! Could I ask if CP project is dead ? I guess a critical bug since it's impossible to create (view and transfer) a new asset on counterwallet for a month. Since it's CP core feature is the project dead ? Should I have to start looking for alternatives ?
Mark Mayer
@markxmayer
@everdreamsoft I’m not sure why you are having a problem, but I just logged into counterwallet and created a new asset without any trouble. I have heard of issues with browsers and either resetting cookies and/or running in a private mode can sometimes help. I’d try a different browser and see if that helps, but counterparty seems alive and well to me.
Mark Mayer
@markxmayer
Well - slight retraction. The asset did get created, but it does not appear in counterwallet.
Nelson Castillo
@arhuaco
@markxmayer I read in Skype that the issue is with counterblockd and that restarting it makes the asset appear (last Friday I think).

@DRO85
Hi. I've gotten past the hanging terminal (the counterparty-server start took 35 minutes to respond). I am now receiving a "requests.exceptions.InvalidURL: Failed to parse:" Python exception. What URL is this expecting to be pointing at for it to parse correctly? I can provide the full stack if that'll help.
cryptonaut420
@cryptonaut420
what is your setup like?
DRO85
@DRO85
@cryptonaut420 I followed the installation instructions linked to in the developer tutorial (http://counterparty.io/docs/counterparty-cli/)
Nelson Castillo
@arhuaco
Hello. What asset uses "Enhanced Asset Info"?
and some others :)
Enhancing an asset is basically just creating a JSON file with additional info about your asset, and then updating your asset description to point to that JSON file. That's all there is to it really.
Nelson Castillo
@arhuaco
@jdogresorg We wanted to look at assets that have used it before. Thanks.

Looks like the multisig escrow output is screwed.
bitsim-chris
@bitsim-chris
Ah, I wasn't aware Counterparty had switched from the multisig transaction to an OP_RETURN. Looks like the block explorers can't decode them.

@bitsim-chris Yeah. I also found out https://blockchain.info/pushtx doesn't like OP_RETURN when generated by Counterparty, but I can broadcast fine from bitcoind. I noticed that sends are usually encoded as OP_RETURN when you have default configuration, whereas issuances do not fit in 40 bytes.
@TOMOAKI12345 I was puzzled to see geth logs here. I thought there was something wrong with gitter and it was mixing the conversations :-P

@arhuaco Oh, sorry I mistakenly post it here.

I hope people al blockchain.info fix the OP_RETURN issue. They are not showing unconfirmed Counterparty TXs that use OP_RETURN.
can devs comment about this post?

When creating an issuance (create_issuance), what are the parameters for the no fee asset name i.e. min number of numbers after 'A'? If a custom name is used, how would payment via XCP be handled through the API?

@Kimmsudenver
can anyone relate to this issue? counterparty server keeps having timeout issue, i check requests version
the issue seems to be inconsistent and the memory usage is very high
i tried update cli, lib ... boostrap, reparse, all the options
Mark Mayer
@markxmayer
@Kimmsudenver yes, counterparty server is running with high memory because bitcoin is being spammed and the mempool is very large. It is not just you. :)
Nelson Castillo
@arhuaco
This is an interesting issue. Counterparty needs the whole mempool to know which outputs can be used for new TXs.

@arhuaco
I just opened an issue: CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-lib#783 ("Unbounded RAM usage?").

@arhuaco
I think that a workaround is to set minrelaytxfee to the minimum fee that Counterparty uses. But this has a few caveats (It won't work for everybody).
Nelson Castillo
@arhuaco
For what I am doing right now, minrelaytxfee=5000 should work. I thik the default is 1000.
I'll test and report back.

@arhuaco
bitcoin-0.10.2/bin/bitcoind -minrelaytxfee=0.00005 -- counterparty-server started. Let's see how much the pool grows. It was 50M before changing this setting. (This works for what I need to do now, but it might not work for some other use case).
