    I am the only one answer questions. So, i would agree its not a very active channel

    @samiwilf
    Let's say I have an array of a numbers. I want to create a UI where a user can see various counts of the array. For example, the count of numbers from 5 and 10 in the array. The count of numbers 50 to 100 in the array. The count of numbers from -inf to +inf in the array. etc.

    There is a slack channel i think the invite link is in one of the qt blog posts

    I'm thinking to have add and remove buttons. When add is clicked, a lower bound and upper bount entry field is prompted

    @AlanU
    The slack channel is pretty active

    @samiwilf
    I think I need to store the entries in a sqlite db and then mirror the db with the UI
    AlanU
    @AlanU
    Are you using the c++ UI or the qml UI?
    Sami Wilf
    @samiwilf
    thanks AlanU I'll check out slack now
    I'm doing QML
    AlanU
    @AlanU
    You can use a QML model like a list Model and then the UI would model what every is in the list
    Sami Wilf
    @samiwilf
    I'm not finding much documentation out there for qt/QML. The docs don't contain images or example code I can paste. Example: https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qml-qtquick-controls2-actiongroup.html <-- no images or example code

    I found that just today. I'll look through it more

    @samiwilf
    cool
    there are intro qml videos
    Sami Wilf
    @samiwilf
    yeah I've watched all the youtube videos
    youtube is usually my goto source for learning
    xaml has so many more youtube videos than qt qml
    Sami Wilf
    @samiwilf
    yes, but I'm not going to pay to learn qt
    every time I've paid to learn something, I've had buyer's remorse
    AlanU
    @AlanU
    Ok
    Sami Wilf
    @samiwilf
    how do I find out which import a QML Type uses?
    I guess I can just google the qml type
    AlanU
    @AlanU
    Here is the link to the slack channel http://org-qtmob-slackin.herokuapp.com
    Sami Wilf
    @samiwilf
    but not all QML Types are showing up in QT Creator when in Design mode
    AlanU
    @AlanU
    They are listed at the top of doc Import Statement
    For example https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qml-qtquick-controls2-actiongroup.html say Import Statement: import QtQuick.Controls 2.15
    So to use ActionGroup you Import import QtQuick.Controls 2.15
    Sami Wilf
    @samiwilf
    right. that's what I meant when I said I could just google
    my real question was whether you could find out within the Qt Creator app. Maybe place cursor on the QML type and press a keyword. Something like that
    no biggie
    I'm wondering why the spin box type isn't showing up under QML Types in my IDE: https://imgur.com/a/0HkQLTc
    AlanU
    @AlanU
    going to be offline for a while will check back later
    Sami Wilf
    @samiwilf
    even when I have a spin box in my scrap-code app

    Thank you for the slack invite AlanU!!!
    That slack channel seems to be exactly what I was looking for!

    TAB character handling in Qt Creator/Editor and in MS Visual Studio appear to be different. I'm using default settings in both, but I am using the "vi" emulator in Qt. On the Qt side it is set for "Blanks Only". Now who knows what that does because there appear to be tabs in the file!?! When I put the file to github and pull it to a win10 machine, some of the indentation is bad. Thanks in advance for any help.
    @AlanU ^^^
    Grant Rostig
    @grantrostig
    @AlanU have you had trouble with tabs, as noted above?
    AlanU
    @AlanU
    just saw this will have to investigate it
    i don’t normal have tab va space issues but i also don’t pay much attention to this

    With the addition of C++20, how long does it take for it to update into various IDEs? I cannot find settings to change QT Creator to update to the new standards.
    Are there reasons for not updating to C++20?
    AlanU
    @AlanU
    A lot of compilers don’t full support c++ 20 , you can use Cpp flags to turn on c++ 20 support. @grantrostig has more experience with this than me
    With doing this in Qt Creator /qmake
