@AndreasGalster RE: Azure. I'm really struggling with uploading to Azure storage as well. I'm starting a topic over at the new Meteor forum if anyone wants to brainstorm on the general topic of getting files to Azure storage from Meteor. https://forums.meteor.com/t/uploading-large-files-to-azure-storage/2741
Garik Suess
@gsuess
@Soupala you should not upload to azure form the browser
it seems like azure doesn't support it.
see my comment on that forum.
Garik Suess
@gsuess
actually, nvm, there is support for that on azure:

Hi there, is Cloudinary supported by Slingshot?
I'm having a bit of troubles configuring Cloudinary for Slingshot also because there's no Cloudinary standard package for Meteor

Hello. Does it exist a simple, clear and complete explanation of an "how to" whith slingshot, meteor and amazon S3. Maybe a video (it will be great ;-)). It seems that I always miss something. Thanks

@jcharvet
hello guys I think I am misisng something I create my settings
codeMeteor.settings = {
"AWSAccessKeyId": "foo",
"AWSSecretAccessKey": "bar",
"S3Bucket": "mybucket"
}code
but should it build differently?
like
Meteor.settings = { "aws" :[ { "AWSAccessKeyId": "foo", "AWSSecretAccessKey": "bar", "S3Bucket": "mybucket" } ] }
basically I have a AWSAccessKeyId missing key

@gsuess
@jcharvet it is a bit unconventional to set Meteor.settings at run-time like that. Not that it should matter, but normally you would put them into a settings.json file and load them meteor --settings settings.json
otherwise you are risking that you settings are set after the directive is read, triggering your error.

Anyone around? Could use some help, trying to upload files
Currently stuck at permission errors (403)

Alright, think I fixed it

Hi, I just wanna check up on something. Do you have any information if AWS is going to support pausing and continuing uploads soon? Any announcements about that?
Eddy Borja
@EddyBorja
Should I be creating a new Slingshot.Upload object instance on the client every time I go to upload a file?
This message was deleted
Garik Suess
@gsuess
@EddyBorja yes
@AndreasGalster S3 supports upload by parts but not resumable uploads and I don't know if they ever will

Has anyone successfully used slingshot with Dropbox?
Garik Suess
@gsuess
@ryanbuiltthat last time i've checked dropbox didnt support SaaS
Ryan Harris
@ryanbuiltthat
Hmm. Forgive the noob question but couldn't the http api work in slingshot?
Garik Suess
@gsuess
that depends on whose dropbox credentials you want to use
slingshot is a package that authorized uplaod to cloud using the providers and not the users account
and that cannot do with dropbox
not without giving the user full temporary access to your dropbox account

@ryanbuiltthat
My end goal is trying to figure out a way to allow a user to upload a bunch of images into a folder. Then someone else comes along and zips up the images for download. I have that running but its incredibly slow. All users in this scenario are not tech savvy so I thought if I could get the images into a Dropbox account I could then have the end user use Dropbox ui to select, zip and download the images
Garik Suess
@gsuess
why dropbox?
Ryan Harris
@ryanbuiltthat
They have the ui and system already in place !mainly
Garik Suess
@gsuess
the ui for what?
Ryan Harris
@ryanbuiltthat
So the main user is an 80 year old photographer. He needs to get images to a couple clients who may not want the whole shoot. So photographer uploads images to their Dropbox account through the app and the end client can select whatever they want and let Dropbox handle the zipping/download
I'm using the app here because after 7days a script comes and cleans out the images
Garik Suess
@gsuess
so you want user to upload to their own account? Not one that you provide for them?
Ryan Harris
@ryanbuiltthat
Yes then they just share a regular Dropbox link out
Garik Suess
@gsuess
well then slingshot is not your package.
Ryan Harris
@ryanbuiltthat
I can get it done with collectionFS but the slingshot approach looks ideal if possible
Oh OK
Thanks for the help!
Garik Suess
@gsuess
slingshot is for when you want users to upload to your own cloud storage account
and that is not supported by dropbox, currently.
