We're hitting another spot of bother : user.profileis empty after user creation, even though we provide it to Accounts.createUser. We suspect it's a Meteor version issue, as the current Meteor doc discourages usage of Profile to store user data. Adding manually the profile to the user in the onCreateUserlistener (as googling suggested) does not solve the issue of the empty profile, which is troublesome because it makes in turn the transactionGenesis fail as it relies on user.profile.wallet, and no votes end up being attributed. If a Meteor ninja knows why the profile is empty, any help and tips would be greatly appreciated.
Dominique Merle
@domi41
Nevermind ; either we create the user from the browser and the profile is not writeable, and so the wallet does not exist, or we create the user from the server and we add Meteor.isClient checks to Session usages in the input data validation. We went for the latter.

@domi41
Interesting : https://github.com/domschiener/publicvotes Is sovereign on an Ethereum blockchain ?

@virgile-dev
@medied this looks an interesting resource for you.
@domi41 Sovereign first blockchain implementation will be using Ethereum yup.

@domi41 here is some recent work on ethereum voting: https://eprint.iacr.org/2017/110
I didn't know that @virgile-dev is also coding. Is there already a date for the Paris hackathon?

Hello
Dominique Merle
@domi41
Stumbled upon BigChainDb. Looks like IPFS + Blockchain pre-packaged. Do you think it could be used ? Not sure if and how it would handle a relational database though.
Dominique Merle
@domi41
They say it is theoretically possible to support relational databases, but they're focusing their efforts on MongoDb. (which is starting to have baby SQL capabilities)

Hello there! I am a real rookie about this subject and am asking for some direction on how to get started. I was told by Udemy you guys can help me build a block chain type consensus on subjects I need answers to. The thing is I havn't a clue on how to create a block chain. Is there anyone out there that can take the time to guide me through this process or maybe point to a video or class on how to do this project?
from what I've been told so far, the tools I need to do this project are here in Sovereign I just have no idea how to use them to do what I want to do. Any body willing and able to help?
virgile-dev
@virgile-dev
Hey @juanillo09_twitter we are still in the process of building sovereign.
There is a live alpha version on vote.democracy.earth that will give youa good idea of what we are building.

Hi, the repo states that a ballot can have multiple options but neither the demo nor the codebase provide anything more than a binary vote. Can someone explain how to enable that functionality?
virgile-dev
@virgile-dev
Hey @raunaqgupta we scaled down this feature for now to focus on core features. We might include it again in the future.

@benmort this list hasn't been updated in a long time. Best way to contribute is to look at the issue thread on Sovereign : https://github.com/DemocracyEarth/sovereign/issues

Hi all, I am new to sovereign. Is there any description or paper about POS(Proof of Stake) of sovereign? Thanks.
Actually I am finding a POS algorithm which is implemented and applied in real projects. Many thanks if you give any clue.

Thanks for the heads up @bhack are you going ?
