Has anyone been able to connect to the VMs? I don't seem to be able to.

I haven't been able to. I get the following error message: "You must change your password before logging on the first time. Please update your password or contact your system administrator or technical support." Unfortunately, I cnanot change my password without logging in!

I'm just getting a failure to connect. What client are you using? The standard windows Remote Desktop?

Yes, Remote Desktop. Maybe we are using different VMs?

I tried 52.91.9.144 and it just said the credentials did not work
@DesPetrie, something seems not right with the VM setup
54.209.149.77 also says credentials don't work for me

@eddiana: I am using 54.209.142.89 as well, so maybe your IP was recorded incorrectly?

That would explain the difference in error msg's.

@/all the problem with VM access was that Win10 only allows a single remote session .. the recommendation from IT is to drop the previously planned VMs in favor of a single Windows Server 2012 machine that will let us all log in and build using Visual Studio .. we can then spin up short-term Win10 machines on Amazon when we want to test the software .. does anyone see an issue with that? I'd like to hear back from everyone before we move forward with the revised plan

That sounds good to me
Plus its always good to have fresh Windows installs for testing
To make sure we're getting all the right files installed

yep, we should have a good set of instructions any of us can follow to install / setup / test .. this forces us to have them :-)

Instead of a single Windows Server 2012 instance, would it be better to have each our own Windows 10 instance?

is there a reason that would be worth all the additional Windows and Visual Studio license costs?

Sorry, Wes: I did not realize that licensing was an issue. In that case, a single instance should be fine.

yeah, we would only need the Server 2012 license and a single Visual Studio license (since it's per machine)
we should all be able to log in simultaneously and use Visual Studio to build
