Hi Chris.............thanks..........I did get it......I was a little nervous about trying it because I didn't want to mess up and make it worse, but now I'm pleased that I did it and I learned some new things, too.........
Thanks so much for the offer................

I was looking at some of the Qt issues that you described..........before Harsh left, he had asked me to investigate Qt regarding license fees, etc. I spoke with a representative from the Qt Company, who gave me the information. One of the options was a 30 day free trial.........the actual setup of the Qt is pretty minimal if we're using Qt Creator for the IDE.........not sure if you guys want to wait on this.........just wanted to run it all by you.........
Thanks again for everything, Chris...........have a great evening.........

@/all If anyone is logged into sawin-02-build (54.208.108.6) at the moment, please let me know? Ed is unable to login and we are just verifying no one else is on. Thanks.

I cannot connect to the virtual machines at all.

I wonder if it would block new logins if someone has a disconnected session on that machine

Proposal... I'd like to add .pdb and .exp to the .gitignore. We already have the other binary file extensions added. The .pdb's sort of clutter up git status results. Yea/Nay?

in general, all build artifacts should be in .gitignore .. only exception I can think of off hand is if the build process takes a ridiculous amount of resources
so I'm a "yea"

@BethOkun @surge-cmcgeorge @BethOkun I've added you all to the Remote Users group so hopefully you should be able to log into your persective vms now. Give it another go

Harsh said that he wanted PDBs checked in (along with LIBs, DLLs, and EXEs). To verify, we are not going to check in the PDB files?

hmmm .. I didn't know that .. I wonder if he just wanted them checked in to save time when building dependent components (e.g., SA itself) .. any idea?

If I remember correctly, he wanted them checked in for debugging purposes. May I am incorrect?

well, you need the PDBs for debugging, but they can always be rebuilt from the source, as can the DLLs, EXEs, etc. .. if we don't check them in, they'll have to be rebuilt anytime someone needs to use them .. on the other hand, they take up extra space in the repo and its logs .. since Harsh wanted them in there, maybe there was some other reason he was thinking of, so let's just keep them in the repo for now

I think his thinking was that once the libs are built, they probably won't be built again so they might as well be included. Right now they aren't. The main problem I see with including the binaries is that if one of us does a full rebuild, we now have multiple GB of files potentially that need to be re-uploaded & downloaded.

well, if you're doing a rebuild and not changing anything, there's no need to push it back to the repo .. if you're changing something, it should probably go back into the repo .. when we start building SA, it would be nice to be able to just download the built libraries and not have to go through the build process locally for each one before building SA .. I imagine that was part of what he was thinking

@DesPetrie I'm still not able to connect to the VM. Its not getting to the user validation - seems like there's a firewall or something blocking the incoming connection.
