Hi, I'm trying to run my new Django webapp on pythonanywhere.com, but after following all installing steps it says

ImportError: Your WhiteNoise configuration is incompatible with WhiteNoise v4.0

and doesn't load the webapp.

I'm using Python 3.8, Django 3.0.2 and the latest whitenoise 5.0.1

I tried to downgrade the whitenoise version to 4.0 and 3.31 but the error still raises :(

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has looked into porting the Django Girls tutorial to glitch.com ? they support sqllite and python, integrate with github, support team development, we are thinking this might be an ideal platform to simplify some aspects of the tutorial we found to be a bit fiddly

i was trying to use latest django version with pycharm and python 3.6 but although i updated sqlite 3.7.17 to 3.30.xx(latest version) it has same error {have to use 3.8.3 or later version}
can't I use latest version of django in python 3.6?
also, i was following tutorial and i opened my first server and the page said the debug mode is true. so i changed it to false but after that it keeps saying the request resource is not found
how can i solve it?

I am at "Django Installation" of the Django tutorial, I am changing "Execution Policy" at powershell to intall virtual environment. I got the message: changing policy might expose you to the security risks described in the ......" Is it OK to proceed? any hints?
AnonZebra
@AnonZebra

@choi-seung-min According to the official django homepage (https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/3.0/releases/3.0/), Django 3.0.2 should be compatible with python 3.6, though they recommend using 3.8. I'm not sure about what the error you get in Pycharm is about. If you're comfortable with using the command line/terminal, then maybe you could try creating and running a django project without PyCharm? I've had trouble with PyCharm sometimes (probably because I don't understand it well enough), things like interpreter and virtual environment settings that lead to unexpected behavior.

About the debug mode: Just turn debug mode on again (DEBUG = True) in settings.py. It's best to leave debug mode on unless the tutorial says otherwise. Debug mode is great during production, it's only if you would make a live site that other people are to visit that you'll have to make sure it's off.

I'm so glad I found this site/tutorials, I am really struggling with Django (as many tutorials have versions issues) but hopefully I will manage to get through it from here. There is just one issue, whenever I am trying to push my files, I am getting this error
I will be grateful if anyone can help
Raphael Das Gupta
@das-g
This error message means that there are changes on your remote repository (on GitHub) that aren't in your local repository (on your PC). Git prevents you from pushing in this situation, so you won't accidentally overwrite those changes.

If you want to keep all changes and combine them, run

git pull

first.

No, wait, sorry.
I just had a look at https://github.com/ankitkpandey1/my-first-blog and the one change it contains is the addition of the README.md file. This change doesn't share any history with your local changes, so git pull wouldn't work.
Try with
git push --force-with-lease -u origin master
Ankit Kumar Pandey
@ankitkpandey1
Now i am getting this error
image.png
I have even deleted readme file and still getting same error. Maybe I should start all over again and make new repo

When creating a new Repo, make sure "initialize with a README" is unchecked. See https://tutorial.djangogirls.org/en/deploy/#pushing-your-code-to-github
Ankit Kumar Pandey
@ankitkpandey1
Yes, it's working now, can't believe how many hours I wasted trying to fix it.
Thanks

By the way after finishing till Django form tutorials, I am getting this error
image.png
I am pretty sure views is imported
image.png
Raphael Das Gupta
@das-g
Is that mysite/urls.py or blog/urls.py?
Ankit Kumar Pandey
@ankitkpandey1
blog/urls.py
image.png
this one mysite/urls.py...
Raphael Das Gupta
@das-g
Well, the error message seems to indicate that views is being used in C:\dev\myproject\v\Scripts\mysite\mysite\urls.py on line 22.
Ankit Kumar Pandey
@ankitkpandey1

urls.py in mysite doesn't use views directly...maybe its because it is importing blog.urls which has some problems?
