Hi, i'm using chips but limit option is not working. Why could be the issue?
Anthony House
@tuffant21
Could be any number of things. Do you have any code to share?
gabrielviteri
@gabrielviteri

trying the same of the sample page:

<head><link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="css/materialize.min.css" media="screen,projection"/></head>

<body><div class="chips chips-autocomplete"></div>
<script src="js/jquery-3.4.1.min.js"></script>
<script src="js/materialize.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$('.chips-autocomplete').chips({
autocompleteOptions: {
data: {
'Apple': null,
'Microsoft': null,
'Android': null,
'Facebook': null,
'Twitter': null,
'Amazon': null,
'Google': null
},
limit: Infinity,
minLength: 1
}
});
</script>
</body>

and in limit i replaced Infinity with 3

Hello everyone! I am currently working on a site. I am Using Jekyll and Materialize. When trying to generate an automated menu (Which works correctly), noticed that the menu goes back to the original state, so I wanted to add an active to the parent item of the item, I managed to add the "Active" class to the html li object, but for some reason the collapsible does not activate. Is there a way to activate the collapsible (maybe a method I missed) to get this? thanks in advance!

@weirdjon
is there a way to insert a materialize pre-loader inside a Select element? thanks

Hello, I am new to custom CSS-frameworks, I wanted to know how one can change colors in radio buttons or check boxes, like the color of the tick. Thanks!

@doughballs

@CinematicCow this should go part way to demonstrating:

Hi is anyone got the warning message from Chrome like "[Violation] Added non-passive event listener to a scroll-blocking 'touchmove' event. Consider marking event handler as 'passive' to make the page more responsive." ?
I tried to find the issue related this on the Internet but couldn't find any...

Hello all! So I see Materialize has multi-select dropdown boxes, but none of the versions of them have a SEARCH or FILTER capability. Is there something I'm missing? Or is this just not available?
Talking about something that works like this: https://www.jquery-az.com/boots/demo.php?ex=63.0_9
Sean Doherty
@doughballs
@computerwiz12890 have you looked at autocomplete?
computerwiz12890
@computerwiz12890
I have now. That doesn't appear to be what I need, since the user will still need the ability to view the entire list if they wish, without a filter.
Perhaps if there was a way to combine the two, that would satisfy my needs. One of the multi-select boxes in my apps is a list of employees to email a note to. The multi-select box has 2 sections, Recommended & Everyone else. I wouldn't have that functionality with the auto-complete.

@doughballs
@computerwiz12890 the closest thing in M is autocomplete with minLength:0 to trigger the list immediately, but you’d have to custom code or use 3rd party for something more elaborate.
computerwiz12890
@computerwiz12890
Gotchya. Well it's no rush...I'm using Bootstrap & Materialize in tandem (i know...not recommended). I'd like to submit that as a feature-request, if there's any way I can? Just a little filter box added to the multi-select dropdowns, and then I can kick another piece of Bootstrap to the curb! ;-)
Sean Doherty
@doughballs
@computerwiz12890 for sure, but I would raise it on the fork as that is being actively maintained. Let me grab the link.
computerwiz12890
@computerwiz12890
Believe it or not, I'm not very familiar with GitHub. I just recently moved from CloudForge to GitHub, and I've only used the Desktop client so far. I am a team of 1....so not a whole lot of collaboration going on. 😅 How do I "raise it on the fork" there? 🤔
Sean Doherty
@doughballs
@computerwiz12890 I’m only just getting around to using github I am also a team of 1! But it’s not just for collaboration and great at keeping track of anything that’s progressing (my custom starter theme for example). Just go to issues and add new I think. Follow the notes. I think the team will flag it as a feature request as it’s not technically an issue.
computerwiz12890
@computerwiz12890
@doughballs Sounds good, thanks!!

this might help. not mine tho

@computerwiz12890
That looks like what I need @weirdjon! Thanks! I'll have to dig into it to see how they got it to work, but it seems to behave like I need. :-)

hey,
how can I fix the issue when textarea auto expands and resizes the document element and then the scrollbar appears? it has overflow-y: hidden; yet still the scrollbar appears, the textarea is in another element which is sort of a sidebar and when it overflows height the scrollbar should appear only of the sidebar itself and not the whole document Element.
Sean Doherty
@doughballs
Maybe build a pen but there is a function to update text area, check the docs and maybe run it when you need ( ie on resize)
Majd Haj Yehia - BestDr
@BestDr
I didn't find anything in the docs out of initializing the textarea and making it autoresize, I just want to change the the container that it resizes, it shouldn't resize the whole document, it just has to resize the parent element
I unfortunately can't make a pen, because I am using some jinja2 syntax for Flask, and CodePen won't be able to render it
Sean Doherty
@doughballs
M.textareaAutoResize($('#textarea1'))
I’m not sure, as I’ve never had the issue you’re describing so not sure what the solution is. If you can’t make a pen or share the live link then it’s hard to debug.
Majd Haj Yehia - BestDr
@BestDr
Ok I will try to put it inside a Pen and send it if I can
Majd Haj Yehia - BestDr
@BestDr
@doughballs I fixed it :)
