Perhaps if there was a way to combine the two, that would satisfy my needs. One of the multi-select boxes in my apps is a list of employees to email a note to. The multi-select box has 2 sections, Recommended & Everyone else. I wouldn't have that functionality with the auto-complete.

@computerwiz12890 the closest thing in M is autocomplete with minLength:0 to trigger the list immediately, but you’d have to custom code or use 3rd party for something more elaborate.

Gotchya. Well it's no rush...I'm using Bootstrap & Materialize in tandem (i know...not recommended). I'd like to submit that as a feature-request, if there's any way I can? Just a little filter box added to the multi-select dropdowns, and then I can kick another piece of Bootstrap to the curb! ;-)

@doughballs
@computerwiz12890 for sure, but I would raise it on the fork as that is being actively maintained. Let me grab the link.

Believe it or not, I'm not very familiar with GitHub. I just recently moved from CloudForge to GitHub, and I've only used the Desktop client so far. I am a team of 1....so not a whole lot of collaboration going on. 😅 How do I "raise it on the fork" there? 🤔
Sean Doherty
@doughballs
@computerwiz12890 I’m only just getting around to using github I am also a team of 1! But it’s not just for collaboration and great at keeping track of anything that’s progressing (my custom starter theme for example). Just go to issues and add new I think. Follow the notes. I think the team will flag it as a feature request as it’s not technically an issue.

@computerwiz12890
@doughballs Sounds good, thanks!!

That looks like what I need @weirdjon! Thanks! I'll have to dig into it to see how they got it to work, but it seems to behave like I need. :-)

hey,
how can I fix the issue when textarea auto expands and resizes the document element and then the scrollbar appears? it has overflow-y: hidden; yet still the scrollbar appears, the textarea is in another element which is sort of a sidebar and when it overflows height the scrollbar should appear only of the sidebar itself and not the whole document Element.
Sean Doherty
@doughballs
Maybe build a pen but there is a function to update text area, check the docs and maybe run it when you need ( ie on resize)
Majd Haj Yehia - BestDr
@BestDr
I didn't find anything in the docs out of initializing the textarea and making it autoresize, I just want to change the the container that it resizes, it shouldn't resize the whole document, it just has to resize the parent element
I unfortunately can't make a pen, because I am using some jinja2 syntax for Flask, and CodePen won't be able to render it
Sean Doherty
@doughballs
M.textareaAutoResize($('#textarea1'))
I’m not sure, as I’ve never had the issue you’re describing so not sure what the solution is. If you can’t make a pen or share the live link then it’s hard to debug.
Majd Haj Yehia - BestDr
@BestDr
Ok I will try to put it inside a Pen and send it if I can
Majd Haj Yehia - BestDr
@BestDr
@doughballs I fixed it :)

Sean Doherty
@doughballs

akiragunawan
@akiragunawan
what do you mean by using ! ?
Sean Doherty
@doughballs

akiragunawan
@akiragunawan

monster153
@monster153

Sean Doherty

monster153
@monster153

Sean Doherty
@doughballs
@monster153 I responded on Stack Overflow
monster153

Majd Haj Yehia - BestDr
@BestDr
does anybody have any idea why clicking a materialize checkbox makes the page scroll and even it looks like it increases the height of a parent element for some reason (I can't figure that element out)
monster153
@monster153
@BestDr when tested there example in the website that did not happen
when I*
Majd Haj Yehia - BestDr
@BestDr
I know I already did that, but when I do it in my website it does
monster153
@monster153
then most likely there is something wrong with your code maybe you imported a library collided with materialize library
like for example bootstrap
Majd Haj Yehia - BestDr
@BestDr
no I don't use any other frontend libraries, I just use materialize, anyways I will test it an empty Pen and then will post here what happens
monster153
@monster153
yes good idea
Majd Haj Yehia - BestDr
@BestDr
hmm I don't know, this doesn't seem to work like in my server, even when I used the exact same code for html, css, javascript - it doesn't have the scroll issue but their parent don't scroll too, so I am not sure what's happening here
Majd Haj Yehia - BestDr
@BestDr
CodePen seems to be way worse, idk what makes this happen but even when the parent element content overflows vertically and the parent has overflow-y: auto; it still doesn't show the scroll bar!
monster153
@monster153
@BestDr have you specified a height for parent ?
i mean in the code pen
Majd Haj Yehia - BestDr
@BestDr
no, it has height of 100%
Anthony House
@tuffant21
@monster153 I ran into this issue as well. I'm a little busy at the moment, so I just want to code dump this here for you
open a console and run tar -xzvf select.tar.gz to extract
