Wasseratem
@Wasseratem
Sorry for the wall of text =)
Erik Ejlskov Jensen
@ErikEJ
I appreciate that you would like to participate.
EF Core Power Tools have received many valuable PRs from the community
Wasseratem
@Wasseratem
I started a fwe lines of code on the #197
I think its a every good idea with a good implementation where you can fit in your code in a given codestyle (its 1 property renamed into 2 if you want so)
I am used to autoGen my database since years, when I switched to .Net Core, your tool was a lifesaver
very glad to work on it too
But I see I have way much to go. As fast as I am in React and GraphQL these days, as slow I am in XAML and such advanced code like ur
'urs
Erik Ejlskov Jensen
@ErikEJ
OK, let me know when you are ready to discuss further
Wasseratem
@Wasseratem
I would like to try it, when I dont see light on the end of the tunnel, I will just ask questions, if I finish this without problems, let us discus about a PR, okay?
Erik Ejlskov Jensen
@ErikEJ
Sure
Wasseratem
@Wasseratem
thanks
Wasseratem
@Wasseratem
Erik?
Erik Ejlskov Jensen
@ErikEJ
Yes
Wasseratem
@Wasseratem
Any idea why my VS 2019 doesnt recognize your unit tests?
I see them, but they are gray and not executed when I execute them...
I remember to have such problems years ago with Nunit and the Nunit Adapter, but this is installed allready, checked it
Wasseratem
@Wasseratem
And I have question how to build a few lines of business logic, I have an idea but it seems not to be the best =/
yeah, everything else seems finished now
Erik Ejlskov Jensen
@ErikEJ
Check the processor setting on test menu
Wasseratem
@Wasseratem
I am nearly finished with the bug since one hour but can't get to build or even run the unbit tests -.-* awkward...
Wasseratem
@Wasseratem
Okay, found the reason
very misterious...
The project file I downloaded was set to Framework 4.7.1, which will lead to errors and 256 tests, of which 0 will be able to run
As soon as I set it to 4.7.2, the errors are gone, 259are discoverted and all run perfecly fine (246 okay, 13 are marked as not runable)

@Wasseratem
Hey Eric, do you need to give me permissions to create a branch for a PR? (Sorry for this question, I worked with gitlab before, never with github, bit it seems that I can't create a branch to checkin). I tried it with a local branch and just push my branch to the origin -> permission error. And the button for creating a new brnach isn't there on the website either
Wasseratem
@Wasseratem
@ErikEJ =)
Erik Ejlskov Jensen
@ErikEJ
You do not need access, you fork this repo, create a feature/bug branch, make and test your code changes, and submit a PR for code review
Wasseratem
@Wasseratem
ah ok
Wasseratem
@Wasseratem
Hey Erik, sorry for the delay. I was busy the whole day yesterday with my doughter and work
I created a fork, a PR and send you this #229
Let's talk about it, if you want :) Hopefully it is what you expectedx
Jesper Hansen
@jespersh
@ErikEJ F5 at which point?
Erik Ejlskov Jensen
@ErikEJ
Debug
Jesper Hansen
@jespersh
@ErikEJ Ya debugging works with the exception I had to change the version numbers you recently commited
Erik Ejlskov Jensen
@ErikEJ
Ah! To what?
@jespersh
Jesper Hansen
@jespersh

In src/GUI/EFCorePowerTools/Properties/AssemblyInfo.cs

[assembly: AssemblyVersion("2.3.0.0")]
[assembly: AssemblyFileVersion("2.3.0.0")]

and in EFCorePowerTools.csproj:

    <Version>2.3.0.0</Version>
    <AssemblyVersion>2.3.0.0</AssemblyVersion>
it was quite strange as it was giving off a binding error without those exact numbers
Like, the extension would load, but like the About dialog and Reverse Engineer would fail to work
@ErikEJ
Erik Ejlskov Jensen
@ErikEJ
Great info, thanks
Jesper Hansen
@jespersh
@ErikEJ I wont say how long I spent trying to figure out that was the issue, but it felt hours
Jesper Hansen
@jespersh
@ErikEJ the daily build was doing the same kind of error btw
Jesper Hansen
@jespersh
@ErikEJ what is EFPT?
Martijn Melchers
@martijnmelchers
@ErikEJ Hi, does this tool work with the EF6 or do we need your other library for that, and is support for .NET Core 3.0 planned for that plugin
Erik Ejlskov Jensen
@ErikEJ
EF6 has its own power tools
And Power Tools support EF core 3 yes
Nirajan Kharal
@nkharal
is there a way to add key to keyless entity (that has been generated from scaffolding)?
