    Yes, but he's a day behind - there'll be more points between us when he's done today's problem...

    @alexwoods14
    I think today is the first time @Scarecrowe wasn't first to finish. You'll have to start getting up earlier again!
    Not that I can beat you anyway with how late I was on the first few days

    @Scarecrowe
    I got to the first star first 😜
    Made a school boy error on part 2 lol

    @alexwoods14
    I'm not so sure you did looking at the scores. My part 1 time was 29:36
    what was the error? I kept getting a conditional statement wrong for part 1
    Scarecrowe
    @Scarecrowe
    It wasn't an error
    My brain is starting to break at the 4:30 starts since the 1st
    I missread the second part and was trying to check for all octopus that flash at the same time within 100 steps. Then I twigged that the sample was on step 195 😂😂 added a while and boom got the answer.
    I'm not sure I'm going to get up early, need a break. I am on holiday till the 4th now

    It’s the 6th year of this crap. You’d think I’d go and actually learn data graph nomenclature and theory properly for once. Nope. Just gonna middle through again.
    Omg I’ve worked out how to edit Gitter messages on a phone. You just double tap. Not a phone thing at all.
    Stupid UX

    It's really buggy the phone app

    only 10 points between me Alex and @jongeorge1 @Meakeel We're all catching up on you Paul!

    Soo much darn pressure. I was in a hotel saturday night by myself and got up early on the Sunday just so I could keep my lead.

    Today is a good day for python users, pretty sure it has its own fold method

    Think this is the best i have ever ranked on a day
    Part 2 is forgiving today and certainly a lot easier than yesterdays which i spent most of the day on

    @jongeorge1
    Nice!
    I think I've hit the point where, having had essentially no time to work on these this weekend meaning I'll have three to do tomorrow, I'll end up completing the challenges at some point between now and February.

    The last couple of days have been a slog
    Jonathan George
    @jongeorge1
    I think last year was the closest I ever came to completing them as they came. Previous years I genuinely have finished off a month or two later. And I went back and finished 2015 at the start of this month.
    Scarecrowe
    @Scarecrowe
    I completed 2015 on top of 2020 last year and half of 2016

    @jongeorge1 I was soo good until yesterdays when I ran out of time, going to try and do todays tonight then work out when I'm going to catch up
    Jonathan George
    @jongeorge1
    Todays is pretty straightforward.
    I need to catch up with yesterday's, which looks like the equivalent of last year's dragon map.

    Well, I did yesterday's earlier. It's definitely one of the slowest so far but I can't be bothered to look for all the stupidity that's slowing it down. Might come back to it another day.
    Like.... reaallly slow

    Today's puzzle reminded me of a puzzle last year that uses the same method to complete part 2

    Oh. So now I'm wondering if it's a) recursive combat, or b) the one where it turns out there's a million cups. Maybe the game will be played with a D1000000...
    Scarecrowe
    @Scarecrowe
    Hahahaha
    Which I used memorization last year to solve part 2

    Essentially you play out a game in every single multiple universe
    Looking up Dirac pointed that out straight away as he was a theoretical physicist in quantum mechanics

    @jongeorge1
    And there it is.

    Catching up on day 18 really reinforces my general disliking of working with strings. Not helping myself with language choice but I doubt I'll ever find it not tedious

    Merry Christmas all, this year has well and truly done me in
