    We can integrate things like travis into the side bar as well

    Is this the second coming of inter-group IRC?
    Andrew Yates
    @andrewyatz
    Maybe. It's already got more users than the IRC channel

    hey, if anyone has any remote remote , designer, DevOps or Sysadmin jobs they can post them at http://webwork.io

    Is this being used?

    @JervenBolleman
    I have a quick question about Ensembl RDF. Is there a datadump for ensembl bacteria, plants etc.. as well or is it just "human" ensembl?
    Kieron Taylor
    @nerdstrike
    Hey @JervenBolleman , Ensembl doesn't really use Gitter. The RDF my pipeline produces gets run on the main 70-ish species. There is also RDF for the Ensembl Genomes species as of this release, but they didn't ask me to sanity-check it. It does at least not cause Jena to explode.
    JervenBolleman
    @JervenBolleman
    I see, that is what I was worried about :(
    Thing is we had seperate namespaces for the different ensembl's
    Not a big deal but that means one of our hacks in our RDF parser won't work for ensembl+ resources
    I need to announce this change ahead of time for the UniProt RDF release
    Also I had noticed that ensembl team does not use gitter. Just thought with the power cut exercise at hinxton this might be the easiest way to get a fast answer ;)
    Kieron Taylor
    @nerdstrike
    I don't know enough about the species to know whether our current approach will backfire. Genome collections are a "hack" to make the infrastructure behave, but the divisions are probably still useful. Maybe even necessary. I had to make big assumptions about the integrity of our stable IDs that may not hold for bacteria.
    JervenBolleman
    @JervenBolleman
    I thought that it was for grant reasons that they where in their own buckets
    Kieron Taylor
    @nerdstrike
    Maybe so
    JervenBolleman
    @JervenBolleman
    In any case it does not matter for UniProt
    You might want to confirm with your bosses, about the grant thing
    or we announce something next wednesday that will annoy someone on your side
    Kieron Taylor
    @nerdstrike
    Thanks Jerven
    JervenBolleman
    @JervenBolleman
    NP, if you would like I can push the announcement to october, and implementation to November
    If that would allow you to fix anything if needed?
    Kieron Taylor
    @nerdstrike
    I confirm, please treat this data as beta. We will have a discussion on the namespaces and get back to you once we've decided whether to change anything.
    JervenBolleman
    @JervenBolleman
    Ok, in that case we won't announce the change
    JervenBolleman
    @JervenBolleman
    Would you like me to send an e-mail somewhere so it ends up in an issue tracker?
    Kieron Taylor
    @nerdstrike
    No need
    Dan Bolser
    @dbolser-ebi
    Soo... can we use matrix to bridge gitter and slack?
