    @brickratrsa I think I got passed this by booting into live session first, and from there start the install app. You can fix settings in live session before install. Screen, network etc.

    I love Enso. This distro rocks. The devs really got their act together. But why keep it based on Ubuntu? Why not make it straight up Debian based? (I get 'Ubuntu 18.04 had an internal error, you wanna ignore or reboot?' a lot.) And something else, bug or my ignorance it may be; stuff I drop in 'desktop' folder via file manager, never shows up on the actual desktop itself... Desktop's Top panel where it says 'Desktop, Files, etc.', is not where the desktop folder stuff is.. there are other files there.. and I don't know what rational is applied with those locations.

    @ElMandjo_twitter Thanks for the love! Being an Ubuntu base is purely due to not having enough time to take the project down a different route / Ubuntu is a fairly stable base that I'm currently happy with, although I agree that these messages can be annoying, in my mind they are just a poor design feature within Ubuntu, I may investigate into a way of turning these messages off, but will keep Debian in mind for the future. With regards to desktop icons, they currently aren't supported (and not sure they ever will be) in Gala which is the WM that Enso uses by default, so you can access these files either by the top bar, or you can drag the desktop file from your file manager into Plank which will give you a quicker route to these items

    theloudspeaker > <@gitter_ekomuliyo:matrix.org> hai @nick92 how to open multitasking view throught shortcut keyboar or shorcut touchpad pad with 3 tap?

    you can use libinput-gestures. It will allow you to open it with three finger swipe. here's a link of a video my friend made on how to do the same. The distro is different but steps are same.

    @nick92

    @ekomuliyo if you open the keyboard settings, go to the shortcuts tab and look in Workspaces, the 'workspace view' item should have the keyboard shortcut details assigned to it, or from and external application you can launch it via a dbus call into gala:

    dbus-send --session --print-reply --reply-timeout=120000 --type=method_call --dest='org.pantheon.gala' '/org/pantheon/gala'
    org.pantheon.gala.PerformAction int32:1

    Enso Os was the distro I was looking for! Thanks for the hard work. I'm testing it out and before it will become my permant operating system I wondered how I can remove the third login person. I have two users in the system but It always shows three avatars. I guess it's the guest account? Tried to disable it in the lightdm configs but no luck. Anything that I might have missed?

    The last blog post was from last year. Is development of this distro still ongoing?
    Nick Wilkins
    @nick92
    @win8linux_gitlab it is, just haven't had the time in the last year to do a post update, but the next release, 0.4 is in the pipeline and I'm looking to get it released for June this year
    @arthurs9571 if it's supported on Ubuntu then the answer is yes

    Is there a Group in Telegram Enzo OS? Thank you!
    melomane63
    @melomane63
    @lynxmedeiros : because Enso is based on Xubuntu LTS, the next Enso version, based on Xubuntu 20.04 , have Xfce 4.14

    and this rocket on down left disappeared
    someone know how to repair it and give it back?
    melomane63
    @melomane63
    @AkumaKitty :
    keeping the ctrl button pressed, right click on the dock, choose parameters / docklets / and add the launcher
    Nick Wilkins
    @nick92
    @AkumaKitty yup, either that or you can go into desktop settings / dock and add the applications docklet back in from there
    melomane63
    @melomane63
    in appmenu, desktop setting not work.
    create as root /usr/share/applications/xfce-backdrop-settings.desktop and paste:
    [Desktop Entry]
    Exec=desktop-settings
    Type=Application

    Hi, I was trying to roll my own Enso today when I discovered it's existence! Enso DOES have dynamic desktops, doesn't it?
    I'm going to load it into a VM as soon as it downloads.

    Is there a roadmap for the 20.04 release?
    Nick Wilkins
    @nick92
    There's a project which lists all of the work that needs to be completed before the release is finalised, but not really a roadmap as such
    Nicholas Jacobs
    @njakes_gitlab
    Thanks Nick!

    I'm having some trouble creating a bootable USB, I've tried both with Etcher running on Ubunutu and Rufus on Windows (both ISO and DD). Always says it's finished writing successfully and I know the USB stick works as I've put other images on it and they boot fine. When I put Enso on it however it doesn't show up in my list of bootable drives

    am i the only one that is sometimes stuck on alt tab switch window?
    Datta
    @BeingDatta
    guys tried enso a while before frankly & honestly speaking its far behind than any robust modern day os. if you guys have enough ram say 8gb then try Feron Os kde its much better
    Feren Os sorry typo
    Manlibear
    @Manlibear
    lol I think you've missed the point. Firstly this is beta so it's somewhat expected it will be "far behind than any robust modern day os" and secondly it's xfce based, so that's not even a good reccomendation. I came across Enso OS whilst looking for a lightweight distro to run on my laptop, so xfce is preferable to KDE
    Datta
    @BeingDatta
    ok i m sorry my bad try linux mint xfce 19.3 and do tell me
    manohars
    @manohars
    Launcher is missing from my os
    Can anyone guide me to restore the launcher
    Nick Wilkins
    @nick92
    @manohars if you just run the cmd 'launchy' in the command prompt does it launch correctly? if you've lost the icon from the dock you can restore it by going into desktop settings, the launcher tab and adding the applications docklet, let me know if any of that doesn't work
    @Manlibear that is odd, I generally just use etcher and it's always let me boot from usb, I'm guessing that you have tried other bootable devices on that machine and it's not something like secure boot being enabled?
    Nick Wilkins
    @nick92
    @BeingDatta this is a medium for discussing Enso and raising any issues that occur when using the OS, there are many many forums out there for Linux systems comparison so please enter into them if you wish to have that conversation
