    @Dodobeard
    Oh no, it seems that Linux Format isn't what it used to be:

    @Dodobeard the site is working for me, is anyone else having issues with it?
    Dodobeard
    @Dodobeard
    @nick92 it currently works for me too from a location in Italy. Does not work from other locations, odd.

    When I start Enso OS 0.4, I get an error message asking me to report the error to Enso devs, and I also note that my Wifi access is disabled. Once I enable it, I connect instantly, and don't see any further error messages. Are these two issues related, and how do I adjust my settings to have wifi activated at bootup? (It is not automatic, I've rebooted many times with the same result)

    Is there a way to map keyboard shortcut to multitasking view? Tried using the command that works in terminal, but doesn't seem to work right. Was hoping to get gestures setup for this, but need a corresponding keyboard shortcut.

    Hi! Stumbled across Enso on Distrowatch, currently running the LIVE version. Your using Gala as the window manager and the button layout is on the left. None of the usual tricks I would normally use in a XFCE environment are working to move the buttons back to the right.

    I see we get some questions but no answers. Sad, this could be a good distro if it had good support.
    I did report on Enso OS in the latest episode of Distrohoppers' Digest podcast, https://distrohoppersdigest.blogspot.com or at your favorite podcatcher.

    @nick92

    Apologies about the delay in my response back to you all!

    @tornnomar_twitter - there is no easy was of achieving this at the minute, because we use gala as a WM and xfce session trying to amend both is quite difficult, so you can change it to the right for gala relatively easy using dconf and setting the value in xconf is simple enough as well, but this doesn't appear to take effect with xfwm not running (which obviously it isn't) so am looking at a resolution which if I find one I'll post it on here for you and look at baking it into a future release

    @zaivala - what laptop / version of Enso are you running? I've not experienced this issue before, I run Enso on multiple devices as my main driver and I've not had an issue with WIFI not connection automatically / displaying errors

    Thank you fort including this distro on your podcast, really appreciate any publicity given to this distro, will give it a listen over this weekend

    @jveronese - Super-D is the current way to display the multi-tasking view but this should be configurable with the keyboard settings, will investigate this issue

    Can't find anything specific around networking issues on that machine, what network adapter does it have? I'm guessing this isn't an issue on other distros
    Gerald "Moss" Bliss
    @zaivala_gitlab
    At the time I had it loaded, Enso was one of 10 distros on that machine, and I wouldn't have reported the issue if I'd had it elsewhere.
    Nick Wilkins
    @nick92
    Hmm, not too sure then, we don't use anything different for network connectivity, just standard network manager / nm-applet libs

    Hello! I'm really liking the Enso OS for its clean feel. Is there any further documentation on why it's considered a "green" distribution, outside of the fact that it can run on older hardware?
    Nick Wilkins
    @nick92
    @rpsmith310 - currently yes it's just the fact that the OS is low on resource and can run on most machines, but I would like to add more elements to the OS that would make it more appealing and 'green' support into a service such as Ecosia where users would be able to plant trees or something like that off the back of searching the web

    Hi, I very like the Enso OS Desktop Design, but I'm wondering how to move the Window Control Buttons (Minimize/Maximize/Quit) to the right side of the window, because I like that better. How do you do that?
    Nick Wilkins
    @nick92
    @sectimecodex_twitter unfortunately there isn't a simple way of achieving this at the minute but will look at allowing an option for it in the next release

    Hey! I just wanted to say I am loving Enso OS, this distro brought life back to my old pc!!! The only thing I would wish for this distro is to be able to move the dock to the center, but it's just a preference, honestly it's really impressive that I use it as my main distro for everyday use.
    Nick Wilkins
    @nick92
    @Jeanpol1996 that's great to hear! You are able to move the Plank element to the centre of the screen if you need to, if you ctrl + right click on the dock -> select preferences -> change the alignment setting to centre then that should do it for you

    I just have to say that Enso is my perfect OS or as close to it as possible out of the box, I've posted an issue i was having to github but other than that I now use it as my daily driver :D keep up the great work!
    Nick Wilkins
    @nick92
    @KittySaysRawr - that's great to hear! Will take a look at the issue asap :)

    Good morning! I've had a good peak at Enso OS and it is really nice. However, I am already using another Arch-based distro with XFCE as desktop environment and I wouldn't like to change. Would it be feasible to install the tweaked packages that Enso OS uses so as to recreate the same desktop experience in my distro?
    Thanks
    Nick Wilkins
    @nick92
    Hi @msoutopico thanks for getting in touch, you can compile all the different components of the OS from Enso Repo onto an Arch based distro, I haven't done this before so can't offer any advice to start you off, but if you have any issues just let us know and I'll be happy to help where I can!

    Hello! Just checked out Enso OS this morning and the amount of work you've put into it is insane - even the startup animation is near-seamless compared to other Linux distros I've used. However, I just have one question - how were you able to base this distribution off of Xubuntu without Canonical coming after you for copyright (context: they state in their terms that you must remove all traces of ubuntu branding and recompile all packages if using their distro as a base I believe)? Reason I ask is because I'm interested in making an Ubuntu-Based distro myself and would rather use it over Debian for software and hardware support reasons. Sorry for the long message and I hope you have a great day
    Nick Wilkins
    @nick92

    Hi @seb512

    as far as I'm aware there isn't any Ubuntu / Xubuntu branding used with Enso that would fall into the category of intellectual property that is owned by Canonical, if there is any that you have found the please do let me know and we can look at removing this in the next release.

    And it terms of recompiling their packages I'm not entirely sure what that would entail / how that would work in effect as the package are hosted on launchpad ppa's which must be used across many different distros, do you have a link to where this is mentioned?

    Appreciate the glowing feedback and all the best if you do start your own distro!

    Seb
    @seb512
    @nick92 Thanks for the response. While digging through Enso I’ve found a few places where ubuntu is mentioned, though like you said this may or may not need to be changed. For instance, when running neofetch it reports the OS as being Ubuntu, and this is because it gets its OS info from /etc/lsb-release. Other files include /etc/issue, /etc/issue.net, /usr/lib/os-release and /etc/os-release. Source that argues packages need to be recompiled is over at https://askubuntu.com/questions/1017305/how-do-i-remove-any-ubuntu-brand-and-trademark-from-my-ubuntu-install which also links to ubuntu’s Intellectual Propety statement. Hope this helps and all the best for the new release of Enso OS
    • on my efi system, grub reports the OS as being ubuntu without any mention of Enso
