@EragonJ I've used Kaku a lot yesterday and it definitly is a lot better than just an extra tab with Youtube open. Also I had the wrong idea about the 'Best audio' option, this works well.

@EragonJ
@oddRaven awesome !! I am glad that you found it ! I think it would be helpful to have an introduction page (or not, because no one cares about that xDD) to tell users about some options
Timo Hoff
@oddRaven
@EragonJ I should have tested every setting, but I do think the naming of the option could be different, maybe a checkbox for 'audio only'? :)
Chia-Lung Chen
@EragonJ
Because I think in the future, we may stop more options for qualities( right now it is audio and video) so I think it wiold
it would be nice to use a drop down menu to choose.
I think a better introduction page would solve most problems ! And if users didn't check it, they got no reasons to blame at us hahahah
Timo Hoff
@oddRaven
that makes sense, thanks

@davidgi1es
I have another question regarding audio.
The audio seems to pull the audio from the music video.
Is there any way to use an Audio video?
Chia-Lung Chen
@EragonJ
what is "use an audio video" ?
davidgi1es
@davidgi1es
So when artists shoot a music video, the audio stream is not purely the song. You will hear dialogue, etc. Some people on YouTube upload a "video" which is just basically the album cover and the audio version you would download on iTunes or GooglePlay.
we don't have such data from providers' API. In order to achieve this, you need a database to collect all songs from the world and it's impossible for me
wpsun
@wpsun
I think there is a bug in your Kaku
the last music video in a playlist get played twice when you chose to repeat all
Chia-Lung Chen
@EragonJ
@wpsun really !? thanks for the report, i'll check it out later

Hey Man!
The instructions to install Kaku in Linux are not really clear, can u give me a hand?
Chia-Lung Chen
@EragonJ
Well, just unzip then click the executable kaku program and that's it !
Hamza Alalach
@hamzaalalach
Okay, but it would be more greater if it installed rather than just a called app, so if you want you can add this to ur manual or create a script to do it automatically:
1.Move extracted folder to /usr/local/ or /opt/
2.Create the following file :smile: :
~/.local/share/applications/firefox_dev.desktop
[Desktop Entry] Name=Kaku GenericName=Kaku Exec=/opt/Kaku/Kaku Terminal=false Icon=/opt/path/to/icon/kaku.png Type=Application Categories=Application;Network; Comment=The next generation music client.
