hello @nskalis - in your output above is pid 3224 actually your exa session? as your previous output indicates exa is using pid 12185

thanks @sanjmonkey for having a look. i just restarted it.
it is pid=3224
# lsof -i :179
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME
exabgp 3224 root 3u IPv4 21890 0t0 TCP at-vie01-isp01:bgp (LISTEN)

looks like it is trying to start a session with a router, and its listening
so I’m confused by your first output - as that referenced a different PID
are you invoking it more than once with the listen directive?

yes. true. because in .env file, bind is specified with the server's interface address
i tried without the bind also. but complains about "socket not ready"

in latest build you can emit the listen from env and use ‘listen 179;’ in config, say in the group

i cannot explain the fact that i can bind, it seems that am listening, but when i do telnet, is established , and then gets teared down.
@sanjmonkey what do you mean exactly when saying "emit the listen from env" ?
[exabgp.tcp]
acl = false
bind = 'SNIP'
delay = 0
once = false
port = 179

its right to be torn down. unless you have yourself configured as a neighbor, this would not work. You would see a message like ‘no session configured for SNIP - SNIP’ in this case

what might be wrong ?

@nskalis it doesn’t look like anything is wrong. has your neighbor configured their side and do you see incoming packets? your netstat says you have sent a syn but do you ever see an ack for this?
