@CAYdenberg I think there's a proxy option. Something like a localForwards option maybe? Just eating dinner at a friends. Can I get back to you?
Casey Ydenberg
@CAYdenberg
ya no rush of course.

I'll get the rest of the talks in the CMS when I've got a few minutes ... let me know if there's anything you don't like about the design
Mark Bennett
@MarkBennett
Very cool @CAYdenberg! Just tried it on my phone and it works well. I'll check it out on the desktop tomorrow and can help add some more talks.

Hey people. I recently came across this cool web app https://mbebenita.github.io/WasmExplorer/
it lets you compile C to wasm in browser and shows you the wasm + wast
here's a YouTube video documentation video

@MarkBennett
Very cool @slmyers! I've been looking at how to polyfill the new shape detection API with WASM and this will be helpful for experimenting.

Hi everyone my last company Graphos is hiring ... it's a advertised as a PHP job but from experience requires more front-end skills. It's a really great, supportive team and an excellent entry point to the industry if anyone knows of anyone.

Hey everyone. A friend of mine developed a framework to build voice applications for multiple assistants like amazon alexa or google assistant. I thought some of you might be interested:

@MarkBennett
Hey @HansWurst90! Totally missed this when you posted sorry.
Would you be interested in talking about it at a meetup? I notice most commits come from Germany so I realize this might not work depending where you are.
Jan Mußenbrock
@HansWurst90
Hey @MarkBennett, I'm currently here in Edmonton and have gone to some of your meetups. Since I did not develop the framework and have only used it a little I'm not really comfortable to talk about it in a meetup yet. Maybe I can talk about in when I got more in depth experience with it. It is a really nice framework to play around with and have fun when you have an amazon alexa or google assistant though. That's why I wanted to let you guys know about it.

Hey there, does anyone remember the name of the coding-jam event later this month, where they were going to pair people up and work through various ways to tackle a software problem with various constraints? I spent half an hour chatting about it at the pub, and now I go to look it up & realize I have no memory of what the event was called. Or the name of the company organizing it. Or the person I was talking to. I'm basically awful at remembering names all around.
SteveReiter
@SteveReiter
Are you talking about the DevFacto one?
Mark Bennett
@MarkBennett
Hey @AmeliaBR. I'll find a link... one minute!
It's Nov 25th

Hey all, so I was planning to come out to the hack night to work on that PWA intro talk I tentatively promised to prepare. But it turns out that hack night was yesterday, and I missed it.
But I did get a good idea for a demo: make a slide deck that is also a PWA! Oooh, inception! (Not nearly as extreme as Mark Robbins' slide decks about advanced HTML emails that turn out to be an email. But still fun.) And I've got 2 weeks to actually do it, so I've signed up on the Google Docs.

By the way, if no one's picked a discussion topic, the competing proposals for enhancing JS classes are interesting:
https://twitter.com/wycats/status/976003022760370176
Also, more generally could talk about JS standardization & backwards compatibility on the web, AKA the MooTools vs smoosh() controversy.

Hi everyone - I'm leaving my position to start as a freelancer/contractor this summer. I want to eventually focus on interactive data viz (I have a biology PhD from once-upon-a-time) but I have a strong foundation in the React ecosystem and I'm open to all frontend work to begin. If anyone has needs in that space, tips on where to look, or just general advice, hit me up at ydenberg@gmail.com or @CAYdenberg on Twitter (DMs are open).
I promise this will be my only self-promoting message on this channel. See you all at the next meetup!
