Raine Virta
good morning
I'm looking for a way to put an Image on top of a simple colored canvas so that parts of the image may not be visible in the resulting image, so far I've tried creating a new Image with color and pasting the image on top of that, but I get an error because the Image doesn't fit. I'd like to avoid cropping the Image first
Raine Virta
basically if I was able to paste with negative coordinates and not caring about if the image fits or not, it'd would be great...
Raine Virta
maybe i'll just make a big canvas, put the image in the middle, merge them and then crop
Raine Virta
hmm, there's some kind of off by one error in crop
Raine Virta
what's the easiest way to remove pixels from a rectangle?
Raine Virta
i ended up just using setPixel

Is anyone familiar with x-code errors while installing lwip?
Jonathan Cremin
hello :)
@EyalAr have you given any consideration to smart thumbnailing?
something like what the Reddit guys do with histograms and PIL
Eyal Arubas
@kudos Cool idea, and shouldn't be too hard to implement. Do you want to open a feature request issue?
@ankurkaushal what kind of errors do you have?
@raine Seems like creating a big canvas, pasting and then cropping would work, wouldn't it?

The second time I try to npm install lwip I get build errors. Is this expected?
warning generated. CC(target) Release/ CC(target) Release/ SOLINK_MODULE(target) Release/lwip_decoder.node ld: library not found for -lgcc_s.10.5 clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation) make: *** [Release/lwip_decoder.node] Error 1 gyp ERR! build error gyp ERR! stack Error:makefailed with exit code: 2
The first time I installed lwip everything worked fine. But after running npm install lwip --save and the running npm install it fails.
I can no longer get lwip to install.
Eyal Arubas
@F1LT3R I suggest you try to clear your node_modules dir and try again. Let me know if the problem persists.

Does somebody have any problem installing lwip on win 8 64-bit machine?
Eyal Arubas
@bpinhosilva what's the problem?
Felix Becker

If someone is struggling with installing this, these are the steps I went through (Windows 10):

  • Install latest Python 2.x (2.7.10), tell setup to add binary to PATH
  • Install Visual Studio 2015 Community Edition, tell setup to install basic C++ tools
  • npm install -g node-gyp
  • npm install lwip

Worked without any env variable or extra SDK downloads :)

I have my image in a stream. Does anyone know how I can create a buffer from it to pass it to lwip?!
hello I am having trouble installing lwip and was wondering if this is the correct place to get help
@sasnfbi1234 It is :)
