    paolobueno synchronize #135
Wojtek Trocki
@wtrocki
this stats are kinda related to sync
oh.. I see - in sync code
problem will happen also if sync was not performed
the way it works is that it pushes stats to redis
but if there were no sync or any other operations redis will simply miss data.
Is that the case?
Mick Hearne
@mclhrn
Redis and sync both running
Wojtek Trocki
@wtrocki
I mean do you have any sync client running
I think that data is being put there on the first sync operation
prior to that you going to get error
running redis locally
launched website with client
Mick Hearne
@mclhrn
Yeah I have already looked at the source at the error. I also have a sync client running and redis running and still the same error. What I was wondering was if the sync configs were getting confused or not, as the line you linked above is being outputted, but the debugger does not stop there
Wojtek Trocki
@wtrocki
hmm.. debugger may not work with node_modules ?
not sure what you are using
Mick Hearne
@mclhrn
It stops in other places from that dir
Wojtek Trocki
@wtrocki
best way is to change text and see if that's going to change
Mick Hearne
@mclhrn
Tried it
Doesn't pick up the change
Wojtek Trocki
@wtrocki
yeah so it looks like it's not using the module
Mick Hearne
@mclhrn
I have used this stats before without issue, zero config
RC is the only diff here
Wojtek Trocki
@wtrocki
it's not RC..
basically before you were using feedhenry-sdk
that fetches config
RainCatcher is not using feedhenry-sdk so developers need to supply redis url
plus you have some strange issue with node_modules not being taken into consideration
it may be typical problem happening with npm < than 5 :)
module you looking for could be nested in another module (raincatcher-sync module in this cse)
case
Mick Hearne
@mclhrn
Yeah was thinking similar, so I possibly my config-dev is being passed to a sync module that is not being used?
Wojtek Trocki
@wtrocki
no. I meant for debugging
what npm version do you use ?
Mick Hearne
@mclhrn
$ npm --version 3.10.10
Wojtek Trocki
@wtrocki
wow :0
this is ancient :D
@mclhrn 100 % you have it then nested in raincatcher-sync module
and that's the one that is used
Mick Hearne
@mclhrn
But we have the same behaviour in prod
I suspect that uses a later npm v
Wojtek Trocki
@wtrocki
I'm trying to resolve your local debugging problem
running plain demo app with redis running gives stats
on local machine
redis is also used as cache so it's speed up a lots of queries
@mclhrn going to try to replicate this issue and let you know
Mick Hearne
@mclhrn
Thanks @wtrocki
Mick Hearne
@mclhrn
@wtrocki good morning... Did you try with a RC template?
Mick Hearne
@mclhrn
@wtrocki I have tried this with a blank RC template and the behaviour is the same. Looks like a bug in the RC module that uses sync.

Template app used:
git clone git@github.com:feedhenry-raincatcher/raincatcher-server.git

git clone git@github.com:feedhenry-raincatcher/raincatcher-mobile.git

git clone git@github.com:feedhenry-raincatcher/raincatcher-portal.git

Wojtek Trocki
@wtrocki
@mclhrn Thanks for letting us know
