you need to change settings in TechDraw...again much improved in 0.19.
FreeCADGitter
@FreeCADGitter
pedja well, almost 5000 commits since 0.19_pre was tagged :)
Kliment why isn't 0.19 released actually? It's been so long
pedja quite a few bugfixes in the pipeline still, afaik
pedja regressions wrt 0.18, stuff like that
pedja 31.12.2020 seems to be the possible release date :)
FreeCADGitter
@FreeCADGitter
pedja I'd love if the FreeCAD configuration was per release, so I can have 0.19 and 0.20-dev side by side
pedja similar to Blender
pedja FreeCAD gltf export is pretty neat. design/build in FC, make a fancy render of it in Blender.

osteoblast22 hi
osteoblast22 I have a line in my sketch with fillets on both side of the line and when i try to move the line to the right or left i get the following

osteoblast22 i'm new to freecad and my google fu didn't reveal anything
luzpaz
@luzpaz
gaahhh! why not use a pastebin instead of flooding the channel ?
FreeCADGitter
@FreeCADGitter
biys nothing wrong with a little flood every now and again
biys i mean it isn't like we're on 2800bps modems anymore
biys i'm pretty sure any modern hardware/software should be able to handle a bit of a scroll
luzpaz
@luzpaz
it makes scrolling back through the history of the chat very convoluted
and it's poor etiquette, IMHO
FreeCADGitter
@FreeCADGitter
biys to scroll back/forward i simply press page up and page down
biys it isn't that hard
luzpaz
@luzpaz
that's beside the point, it's wading through the info that is the burden.
FreeCADGitter
@FreeCADGitter
y1n on gitter it look worse :> on IRC it's ok, but he didnt it special I guess
biys yah idk what the deal is
biys it's really not that big a deal
biys some people are so sensitive though
y1n agree
luzpaz
@luzpaz
osteoblast22, we don't know what version you are on or see a file. Post you issue to the forum for more efficient assistance
FreeCADGitter
@FreeCADGitter
pedja flooding the channel with multi-line paste will get you a warning or get you kicked out of the most channels
pedja and it's not about 'sensitivity', it's about unnecessary noise
pedja and the paste is much easier to view at the pastebin site then in the channel backlog

Kliment Is there a way to export a sketch to dxf along a particular axis?
Kliment I have a sketch in XZ and it keeps trying to export in XY with predictably useless results
macdroid53
@macdroid53
Kliment switch to legacy export and select Project exported objects along current view direction in preferences
FreeCADGitter
@FreeCADGitter
Kliment Thanks, that did it!
Kliment (legacy export, I already has the other one selected)

hi

@goot1
I'm new to freecad and I would like to use a master-sktech or something (positioning contraints, assembly-contraints) in order to build a configurable CAD-Product. Does anyone know where I can find documentation for that? Or howto do that using freecad? (Background: I've a lot of Step files and I would like to build a product configurator so that i can simple change the configuration and the CAD-Modules adjust to my settings on the fly)

XXCoder theres a spreadsheet
XXCoder you could build a nice table there
XXCoder then use values in it. it has 2 spreadsheets actually, theres some limition in it, but i forgot what it is, something about using calculated value?
XXCoder (for futher calculation that is, not using it in model)
goot1
@goot1
Its not only the positoning also the size scales. e.g. I've a imported step model and there is a hole with 22mm. When changing the size of the hole to 25mm other objects should also change to fit in into that hole.
FreeCADGitter
@FreeCADGitter
x2s yeah, that will work well with a spreadsheet
macdroid53
@macdroid53
using a spreadsheet to change the constraint radius of a circle in a sketch, and thus the size of the hole it creates in a subsequent pad is a typical operation. but, how would the spreadsheet value be used to change a hole in a step model?
FreeCADGitter
@FreeCADGitter
x2s well, the easiest solution would be to not have a hole in the step-Model and create your own with freecad
