I went to see his Visual Trumpery lecture, and I can imagine he's an excellent teacher in more formal/traditional settings as well!

Hey,

Today I went to another meetup. IoT for my town has now an 80% coverage. I did my first workshop with sensor etc. and I saw interesting use cases. A good starter for working with devices. The Internet of Things is taking off over here.

We had a kind of one day mini-conference here on the 19th, and there was a presentation by Ben Taylor from Ziff on the future of AI, and he's offering to make an hour and a half video presentation depending on the attention it gets on his LinkedIn post... cheap marketing, but his talk was fantastic! He's made his slides available if anyone wants to go through and figure out what he was talking about
As a side note, he is a super nice guy. I didn't get a chance to talk to him until after everyone was finally going home from the conference and all the circumstances were the worst for anyone to corner anybody, but he didn't brush off my questions or rush any answers and even offered to give me some data he had gathered for free to help with a project he helped me to brainstorm.

It was really exciting to me, the last time I tried to ask someone about someone's work after they had presented, it was someone from Activision who works on the Call of Duty franchise and he was dismissive and kind of rude :/

I'm super jealous of him. He's met two of my professional idols, and says one is basically ready to die so now I'm kinda panicking to try and get out to san francisco to try and meet him :worried:
