@p0cket I'd generally recommend going through this book https://r4ds.had.co.nz/ Although the programming language taught is R, concepts from it are widely applicable.

This is the free textbook we used in a stats class at the Harvard extension school: https://www.openintro.org/stat/textbook.php?stat_book=os . It also uses R.

to be honest, I audited the class and mostly just listened to the lectures, but I've been meaning to actually read that textbook since it seemed good :)
data science is just a new term for statistics, right? :)
