So I just git pulled my react-recipe-box onto cloud 9 to work on it at work and i ran webpack watch and it kinda broke it
the size went from 1.24 MB to 1.43 kb
and nothing renders

@erikbatista42 um the only thing I can think of at the moment is to create a div between your html content and style it in css to be a certain height and width with a different background color
than the two divs on either side of the line

I've been stuck on this problem. Here is what I have:

if you need text in a vertical line you would style the div width as 1px. or are you trying to draw a physical line

@hianita yes.the form tags are used to perform actions with the content inside it, like sending the cat url text to an email, stuffs like that(you will learn that later).It doesn't show anything.

@MelanieLeAnn erm...just clarify, in that specific case, the hash symbol (aka octothorpe ) between your <i></i> tags isn't serving as a selector....it's just a feature of the text #target4.

@ikamilov Div elements are mainly used for sectioning your HTML in parts. I mostly use it if I want to section off a page for CSS.

I'm on challenge "Stand in Line" under "Basic JavaScript" and I'm having trouble figuring out the solution. I have to "Write a function queue which takes an array (arr) and a number (item) as arguments. Add the number to the end of the array, then remove the first element of array. The queue function should then return the element that was removed." the code I have now is:
function queue(arr, item) {
  // Your code here
  arr.push(item);
  arr.shift();
  return arr[0];
}
It returns the first element of the array after the previous first element has been removed and I don't know how to tell it to return the element that's been removed

hey staxed, as an example -->
.boom ul.bam a { ... } would target the css of a link that's inside of any unordered list item with class bam that's inside any element with class boom

It just goes down the heirarchy

hi a quick question in the jQuery tutorials/ Change text inside an element using jQuery i am meant to Italicize the text in your target4 button by adding HTML tags. to this i placed in the script section $("#target4").html("<i>target4</i>"); which did make the button text italics but fails to complete the task in fact the only way i have managed to complete the task is by literally adding <i> </i> tags around the button element i am using chrome on linux. obviously i am doing something wrong but just cannot currently see it, any ideas?

Hi Guys, am facing an issue in the HTML5 CSS section. Think it might be a bug, so wanted to confirm with you guys
On page 'Link to External Pages with Anchor Elements' of 'HTML5 and CSS' under 'Front End Development Certification'
After creating the link in the solution, click on the link displayed in the preview window, with or without control clicked. The original link won't open. Now, try submitting the solution either with the button or with 'ctrl-enter'. None of them work, until the page is refreshed.
can someone please confirm this?

@SeanSaibot -- you are hard-coding for a known number of incoming arguments ... you can get around that by actually looking at the arguments object, determining it's length, converting the arguments object to an array and then using that ...

  2. those arguments may or may not be NAMED parameters
  3. in seek & destroy, the test cases pass 3 and even more parameters -- but only ONE of the parameters is named
  4. the way you access the unnamed parameters is thru the arguments object

@dunethomas -- it's easy once you know ... I mean, I'd heard/read that js could have a variable # of arguments ... but it was sort of vague knowledge in the back of my head ... I won't forget it too easily now ... and it's easily "remedied" ... (though it does make me wonder about the overall security of js code ... )

@logon007 - add it as a class to the element... (but you don't need the period at the front of the class name. That's only used in the CSS definition)
@bitgrower -- but you're right... once you know about accessing the arguments object, makes things a LOT easier.

@dunethomas -- I can pass anything ... there's not a lot of emphasis, as far as I can tell, on js functions doing input validation ... so I can pass all kinds of crazy stuff -- including functions! and then I can practically take over the function like a virus takes over the DNA of a cell ... :)
basically -- one of the top ways pen testers test is to throw crazy inputs into code to make the code go haywire ... :)

filter() will return array from elements for which callback function returns true, and you then assign this array to variable: var newArray = ...

Alright the question is suggesting a while loop.i was thinking of

while a <20 print out a random integer. and then have something that measures the list and when the list hits 20 tell it to stop . how would i go about coding that?

iv got to code a random integer list that prints out random numbers from 1-20 using a while loop and the list can only be 20 integers long. any ideas @Manish-Giri

Hi, everyone. So I'm on my "Build Personal Portfolio Page" challenge and was hoping to get some help. I want to use several background images running down the page and I want to use Bootstrap "container-fluid". But I'm having trouble finding one best way to do background images that are full bleed. Font size is controlled by the font-size CSS property, like this:

great @iashraful i need to have a list that is 20 integers long filled with random integers from 1-20. it has to use a while loop though as well. i dont even know where to begin though iv already got it where i import random but going from there im stumped.
