@Pellicove your function returns result, which is still an empty string. And then, your function takes in an argument called val, and yet the lookup table you have created is called val, so you basically lose the input that is being passed in to your function

@Pellicove you are already playing with algorithms! every problem you solve, no matter how small it is, is based on an algorithm! Just because a problem doesn’t use complex doubly linked lists or heaps or trees doesn’t mean it doesnt involve an algorithm!!

yes, this functions on an algorithm... i just do better with numbers. my background is in mathematics, lol. thank you, both.

ok then element it is. what happens if you only reference an element with a lot of data? would you need to declare a string ?
like let's say we use varArray[1,2,5,6] and then we try and stream that to console, would we need to stream each element or just stream varArray ?

@NuclearMonkey if you want to give a name to an image (like when you put your mouse over an image you see a text) you need to use "title" attribute, if you want to put some text over the image (not as part of image) it depends:
shortly to say <p> is a "paragraph", you better use it when you have lots of text
<span> better to use for 1-2 words (spesially useful to design parts of paragraph without breaking the row )

And then the BG color style goes up at the top in your existing <style> thing.
Then whatever has that id will be styled that way.

But in any case, specifying generic (container) dimensions in percentages is a good practice. If you want to center align that div, the better way in this case would be to wrap it inside a div (width 100%) and put that div inside your current div. And set the property text-align:center; on your new div.

Hello. I've been trying to do the random quote generator but i can't seem able to get the json. Here is my code

@OMahonyD yeah I had a look... the guy has a very interesting solution.. very brute force and not an algorithm I would use if i wanted to keep operations low.... the mathematical methods get a bit hairy if you want to use prime factorisation or something else.. his solution is definitely out the box... going to try and implement my own version I think.

Also if there's an alt tag the tag will appear instead of the image if the image doesn't load
so you can describe what the image is

if you look for a job somewhere there'll be all sorts of new tech to learn
but they're all based on the fundamental things
html, css, js, php and mysql
for front end you only need a basic object oriented overview of php and enough mysql to fix some db errors and link up a database to wordpress or somehting

you could set up wordpress and woocommerce, but the ecommerce will be implemented as a plugin and wordpress plugins are notoriously insecure
shopify supports blogs, custom pages, templating (all the stuff wordpress does) but it's locked up so no sql injections in a plugin can mess up your site, and you have support

don't use magento, it's patches are a nightmare and it's easy to hack
we've had some very bad experiences with magento at my work
if you just want to sell stuff and have an email subscription shopify is the easiest out of a complex woocommerce, wordpress, wp-engine setup

Hey guys, I am trying to use bootstrap’s scrollspy, and I’m a bit confused as to which margins I should be adjusting to make it where my header isn’t block the title of each target. Remove the style attribute from your h2 element.
Create a style element.
Your h2 element should be blue.
Ensure that your stylesheet h2 declaration is valid with a semicolon and closing brace.
Make sure all your style elements are valid and have a closing tag.

@murtinha right, and it works but in your adding and subtracting operations it's not getting updated ...probs because $("#result").val() goes blank in between operations so it stays at it's original value
your switch works but ope is not getting updated in your other functions

Our goal for this Algorithm is to split arr (first argument) into smaller chunks of arrays with the length provided by size (second argument). There are 4 green checks (objectives) our code needs to pass in order to complete this Algorithm:

@dudeguykid you have to nest radio buttons, those are <input type="radio"> elements
you are now nesting button elements
also, every row in Bootstrap amounts to 12 columns, while you're going 18
