Hello. I am on lesson 100. It is not letting me continue. Says I am missing two steps:
Your h3 element should be colored by applying the class text-primary
Your h3 element should be centered by applying the class text-center
Here is my code:
<div class="text-primary"><div class="text-center">
<h3>jQuery Playground</h3>
</div>
rphares
@rphares
May 18 2016 00:43
it likely want you to apply those classes directly to the h3, @redphoenix83
ie <h3 class= "class-one class-two">
not sure without the name (challenges dont have numbers, those ar your points :blush: )

@frankthetank361 oh issue is you don't remove numbers
only punctuation, spaces, symbols
so the 1 should still be in there
also you can simplify your regex quite a bit

var input = './stylesheets/**/*.scss';
var output = './public/css';

gulp.task('sass', function () {
  return gulp
    // Find all `.scss` files from the `stylesheets/` folder
    .src(input)
    // Run Sass on those files
    .pipe(sass())

@coymeetsworld so i did some experimenting
that article was obviously not my project and not my folder structure. But comparing that to my own project
assets/
    |
index.html
    |
gulpfile.js
The filepath is specified in gulpfile.js. The path I originally had to grab my Sass files before compiling was assets/css/main.scss'. I added./to the beginning of that filepath, giving me./assets/css/main.scss`, recompiled and same result
so from what I gather:
```
can anyone assist me with this challenge - Target the same elements with multiple Jquery Selectors, i got 5/6 objectives,
<script>
$(document).ready(function()
{
$("button").addClass("animated");
$(".btn").addClass("animated shake");
$("#target1").addClass("btn-primary");
});
</script>
Using .addClass(), add only one class at a time to the same element, three different ways:
Add the animated class to all elements with type button.
Add the shake class to all the buttons with class .btn.
Add the btn-primary class to the button with id #target1.
i want this essentailly
1914 - Born in Cresco, Iowa
1933 - Leaves his family's farm to attend the University of Minnesota, thanks to a Depression era program known as the "National Youth Administration"
1935 - Has to stop school and save up more money. Works in the Civilian Conservation Corps, helping starving Americans. "I saw how food changed them", he said. "All of this left scars on me."
1937 - Finishes university and takes a job in the US Forestry Service
1938 - Marries wife of 69 years Margret Gibson. Gets laid off due to budget cuts. Inspired by Elvin Charles Stakman, he returns to school study under Stakman, who teaches him about breeding pest-resistent plants.
1941 - Tries to enroll in the military after the Pearl Harbor attack, but is rejected. Instead, the military asked his lab to work on waterproof glue, DDT to control malaria, disenfectants, and other applied science.
1942 - Receives a Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Pathology
1944 - Rejects a 100% salary increase from Dupont, leaves behind his pregnant wife, and flies to Mexico to head a new plant pathology program. Over the next 16 years, his team breeds 6,000 different strains of disease resistent wheat - including different varieties for each major climate on Earth.
but i have it so the lines stretch out everywhere
If I am trying to make a word in an array upper case, wouldn't this do it?:
newTitleArr[i]=newTitleArr[i].charAt(0).toUpperCase();
If that was in a for loop?
It wont capitalize any of the words in the array, running it through a for loop for some reason.
You should have a total of two images.
Your new image should be below your old one and have the class img-responsive.
Your new image should not have the class smaller-image.
Your new image should have a src of https://bit.ly/fcc-running-cats.
Make sure your new img element has a closing angle bracket.
@jgoldverg since an img isn't text that won't work. you can give it display: block and margin: 0 auto
jgoldverg
@jgoldverg
May 18 2016 04:47
@qualitymanifest didnt seem to work im thinking of doing this
position: absolute;
margin: auto;
top: 0;
left: 0;
right: 0;
bottom: 0;
didnt work /:
this did make it work tho
display: block;
margin: auto;
top: 0;
left: 0;
right: 0;
bottom: 0;
DJ
@qualitymanifest
May 18 2016 04:49
@jgoldverg that works, it will also work the way i said it and the top left right bottom is unnecessary
@Slooop above your html code add a comment that looks like this "<!-- Only change code above this line -->"
"<!--" is the beginning of a comment block, "-->" is the end of the comment, anything you write in between is not rendered in the DOM
Hi would this be valid regex for matching date? ^[a-zA-Z]{3} [a-zA-Z]{3} [0-3][0-9] [0-2][0-9]:[0-2][0-9]:[0-2][0-9] [a-zA-Z]{3} [0-9]{4}\s]$
Using regular expressions, write a Perl or Python script to parse a date
in the form produced by the date command (e.g., Tue Oct 20 18:09:33
PDT 2009) and determine whether it is valid (e.g., no February 30th,
%a - abbreviated weekday name
%b - abbreviated month name
%d - The day of month (1-31)
%T - Equivalent to %H:%M:%S
%Z - An RFC-822/ISO 8601 standard timezone specification.
%Y - The year, including century (for example, 1991)
thats what the tags mean, so why can't this work?
import time
inpDate = "Tue Oct 20 18:09:33 PDT 2009"
try:
    time.strptime(inpDate, '%a %b %d %T %Z %Y')
    print("Valid Date")
except ValueError:
    print("Invalid date")
how do i only add one class with each of my three selectors
Using .addClass(), add only one class at a time to the same element, three different ways:
Add the animated class to all elements with type button.
Add the shake class to all the buttons with class .btn.
Add the btn-primary class to the button with id #target1.
plz help :D
@codersc look at the API call url you tried using.
@alvarocham paste a link, not an image.
at first glance, you are missing a /> at the end of your <input tag
