if i had to guess, you removed a class from the <img> or the <img> needs to be inside a <p> (you moved it), one of those, guessing since i don't know the challenge

Responsively Style Radio Buttons - its this one
having the exact same problem - ´´

´´´

<div class="col-xs-6">´´´

how does this work?
Simon Cordova
@gbsimon87
Jun 08 2016 00:07
Bootstraps grids work in multiples of 12...
Meaning <div class="col-xs-6"> will be a div that takes half the possible space across

Jun 08 2016 00:22
Usually, when creating a website, you have a main folder where all your files go, let's call this folder 'Alan's website folder'
In there, you have your main HTML page, (commonly named index.html)...

Can someone point me to what wrong or what Im missing?

Simon Cordova
@gbsimon87
Jun 08 2016 00:24
@alaaaaaaaaan in your <head> element in your html, use the <link> element to attach the css file to the html
efeselgr
@efeselgr
Jun 08 2016 00:24
@YasminaCEA you make a class and put "font-size:Lobster;" in it,and assign the class to your element for example <h2 class="urclass"> </h2>
@ParisParkr you are missing the text part of paragraph,read the left side
Yasmina
@YasminaCEA

Jun 08 2016 00:27
@alaaaaaaaaan if you want to use your own images in codepen, you can use a service such as cloudinary or dropbox and point the src to the link
The reason why codepen won't read your images is because it's working off a server, not off your local root folder

Uncomment HTML
Commenting is a way that you can leave comments within your code without affecting the code itself.

Commenting is also a convenient way to make code inactive without having to delete it entirely.

You can start a comment with <!-- and end a comment with -->

Uncomment your h1, h2 and p elements.

Run tests (ctrl + enter)
Reset Help Bug
Make your h1 element visible on your page by uncommenting it.
Make your h2 element visible on your page by uncommenting it.
Make your p element visible on your page by uncommenting it.
Be sure to delete all trailing comment tags, i.e. -->.

Simon Cordova

Comments are generally made so that the browser knows that the code within the <!-- and --> is to be ignored.
This is usually used for other developers to read comments you make.

@gbsimon87 ok first things first. In your explanation about creating folders in dropbox and saving the HTMl and Style docs to it. Shouldn't those 2 documents contain the code from codepen? If so, how does one do that?
Simon Cordova
@gbsimon87

Use w3, complete its html and css lessons as you can "try it yourself" all the time and get a feel.
FCC is an amazing environment due to community's support
No worries @alaaaaaaaaan anytime buds!
@alaaaaaaaaan and yes, placing it in the html and styling it in the css is the best way to go, gives you more access and more flexibility.
Keep it up man!
@Archangelpak I firstly studies with html and css for dummies, believe it or not, and I feel it gave me quite a solid background understanding.
The books are very interactive and you build about three websites as you go along.

I've tried them as well, and coursera, and udacity.
They're honestly all great, but what got me to stick with FCC is its community. People are always willing to help and there is a lack of support in the other websites.
They're all worth a shot, give each a try for half an hour and you'll get a good feel of what they offer.

to nest a field means to put it inside another field...for example:

Algorithm No Repeats Please

Problem Explanation:

This task requires us to look at each possible permutation of a string. This can be done using a recursion function, but it is not the only way. A common interview question is building a function which collects all permutations of a string. So there is no shortage of tutorials out there on how to do this, in many different code languages.

Adding Snippets To Your Sublime Text Installation

If you are a user of sublime text (I hope you are, it kicks ass. You can get it here), then you may have already noticed some of the tab completion capabilities. For example, when you are opening an html tag such as <p>, it automatically closes the tag as soon as you type /. You can get similar functionality for pieces of code you end up re-writing over and over, and it's surprisingly easy!

Here's an example, which activates after typing div and then tab:

Rugved Dighe

You need 2 p elements with Kitty Ipsum text.
Make sure each of your p elements has a closing tag.
Your p element should contain the first few words of the provided additional kitty ipsum text.
Do not add a class attribute to the second p element.
Between the style tags, give the p elements font-size of 16px. Browser and Text zoom should be at 100%.

Style Text Inputs as Form Controls
You can add the fa-paper-plane Font Awesome icon by adding <i class="fa fa-paper-plane"></i> within your submit button element.

Give your form's text input field a class of form-control. Give your form's submit button the classes btn btn-primary. Also give this button the Font Awesome icon of fa-paper-plane.

<button type="submit"> <i class="btn btn-primary fa fa-paper-plane"> </i> Submit</button> </form> </div>

$("#target1").css("color", "red");

Regarding these two lines of jQuery, why is it considered correct for "red" to be in parentheses, but not "true"? Aren't they both just values of an attribute?

So I think I found a bug. In Title Case a Sentence under Basic Algorithm Scripting I found an answer that works and it is still saying that its not right. I know it works because I used alert(newString) to view what my code was putting out and it matches the expected output. Here is my code
function titleCase(str) {
var strArray = str.split(" ");
var newString = "";
for(var i = 0; i < strArray.length; i++) {
newString += strArray[i].charAt(0).toUpperCase();
newString += strArray[i].slice(1, strArray[i].length).toLowerCase();
newString += " ";
}

return newString;
}

titleCase("I'm a little tea pot");

Hi fellas, I need your help. So, help me guys .

Working on Challenge Twitch tv API.

Please refer this codepen url [ http://codepen.io/ydeepk/pen/gMOVbj ]

My working Idea was to divide code in three parts:
1.) Get user Data and store it in a Object say dataRecevied = { }
-> Is this correct to store data in object for every user within the same function in which I'm calling " userData( ) ". ( All suggestions welcome. )

2.) Get user Status using function " userStatus( ) ", Here i'm having problem when I call this inside function " userData( ) ".
-> I get status 404 errors in console, other wise when I run independently userStatus( ) function, no error.

3.) Search user function , which searches users on input.

only need help with the first two parts. Please take few minutes help me with this.

This is the example Reversing an array from Ch. 4 Data Structures: Objects and Arrays:
The goal of the function is to reverse an array in its place without using the Array Objects .reverse() function.
I'm a little bit confused about the behavior of the 'holder' variable in the for loop:
function reverseArrayInPlace(array) {
    var holder,
        middle = Math.floor(array.length / 2);

    for (var i = 0; i < middle; i++) {
        holder = array[i];
        array[i] = array[array.length - 1 - i];
        array[array.length - 1 - i] = holder;
    }
}

var arrayValue = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5];
reverseArrayInPlace(arrayValue);
console.log(arrayValue); // → [5, 4, 3, 2, 1]
At the beginning of the for loop, we assign holder the value of array[i], but in the next statement we assign the value of array[i] = array[array.length - 1 - i]. My thought process at first was that the holder variable would now be equal to array[array.length - 1 - i] as well.
Why does it retain array[i]'s original value?

Jun 08 2016 05:33
@Masd925 the idea is if you have an array with a length of 3,7,9 the middle = Math.floor(array.length / 2); its ok. but what if the length is 4,6,8... ?
Markus Kiili
@Masd925
Jun 08 2016 05:36
@sorinr With an array of 5 elements it loops indices 0 and 1, because floor(5/2) is 2. With 4 elements is also loops 0 and 1, because floor(4/2) is 2. So it works both with even and odd numbers.

honestly, you shouldn't need to play around with the attributes for full width containers. you normally just need to do "container-fluid" and place a column within it so house the content that's full width
haha @SteveLongoria
that will have me scratching my head for a while. that's how i did my full width footer at http://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://github.com/janodus/inspiresf/blob/master/InspireSF.html

Hi guys, I've became stuck during the HTML training .You can set an element's background color with the background-color property.

For example, if you wanted an element's background color to be green, you'd put this within your style element:

.green-background {
  background-color: green;
}

Create a class called gray-background with the background-color of gray. Assign this class to your div element."

I was wondering where

** I was wondering how to assign this background color to the DIV - Is it possible to do this without adding a style element?
<div>

<style>
.gray-background {
background-color: gray;
}
<p>Things cats love:</p>
<ul>
<li>cat nip</li>
<li>laser pointers</li>
<li>lasagna</li>
</ul>
<p>Top 3 things cats hate:</p>
<ol>
<li>flea treatment</li>
<li>thunder</li>
<li>other cats</li>
</ol>
</style>
</div>
That's the division I'm referencing
NicholasDM
@NicholasDM
Jun 08 2016 09:07
For the css, which is what is inside of the style element, you are currently defining a class by doing the .classname { class_property: such }.

You can assign that class, and so the style inside of it, to any element by typing, "<element class="class-name"> </element>

So, if you wanted to assign a class named '.outline' to a <p> element, it would be <p class="outline">whatever you want</p>.
Tad of a contrived example, but it should work.
