//This is what I have
function wordBlanks(myNoun, myAdjective, myVerb, myAdverb) {
  var result = "";
  // Your code below this line
  var sentence = "The" + myAdjective + myNoun + myVerb + myAdverb;
  result += sentence;
  // Your code above this line
  return result;
}
// Change the words here to test your function

I get the result:
The big dog ran quickly

Fransisco Wiles
@fwiles
Jun 18 2016 00:28

[First one]
wordBlanks("dog", "big", "ran", "quickly") should contain all of the passed words separated by non-word characters (and any additional words in your madlib).

[Second one]
wordBlanks("cat", "little", "hit", "slowly") should contain all of the passed words separated by non-word characters (and any additional words in your madlib).

Ok, this is what it accepted...

function wordBlanks(myNoun, myAdjective, myVerb, myAdverb) {
  var result = "";
  // Your code below this line
  var sentence = "The " + myAdjective + " " + myNoun + " " + myVerb + " " + myAdverb;
  result += sentence;
  // Your code above this line
  return result;
}

// Change the words here to test your function
wordBlanks("dog", "big", "ran", "quickly");

So it I guess it is being very picky with the spaces between the ""
But I don't understand why we need all of the " " between each word when can simply add the spaces in the wordBlanks(" dog", " big", " ran", " quickly");

Thanks @Siedge @evan153

The instructions are: "In Computer Science a queue is an abstract Data Structure where items are kept in order. New items can be added at the back of the queue and old items are taken off from the front of the queue.

Write a function nextInLine which takes an array (arr) and a number (item) as arguments. Add the number to the end of the array, then remove the first element of array. The nextInLine function should then return the element that was removed."

@BeingDS It's a line like one at a bank :smile: You would take in two arguments (arr, item) in your function push (I think it's push) a number to the end of the array and remove the first one using shift or something... then return the one you removed
@BeingDS I forgot which is which for the push/shift/unshift let me check

Brownie Points

The number beside your picture on Free Code Camp tells you how many Brownie Points you have.

A user profile picture next to a with Brownie Points score

There are two ways you can get Brownie Points:

  1. Complete challenges - you get one point per challenge you complete
  2. Help other campers in chat - each time you help another camper and they thank you (by typing "thanks @yourname"), you will get a point

Brownie Points help you look like the kind of person who codes a lot, shares relevant links, and helps people.

They also add to your Streak.

iccomq
@iccomq
Jun 18 2016 02:40
@is1224lee there is a lot of selectors, when we want to select all element of said kind we just write their names, to select a class we use dot notation, to select element with id we use # notation
you want to select 2 p elements, without using classes so you use "p"

Using .addClass(), add only one class at a time to the same element, three different ways:

Add the animated class to all elements with type button.

Add the shake class to all the buttons with class .btn.

Add the btn-primary class to the button with id #target1.

@Ferdyboy81 @HorsemanJnr Flexbox is a new layout mode for CSS

@HorsemanJnr @fwiles they never said it anywhere but i'm assuming Span is to do with only bootstrap classes and div elements, we cn declare user defined CSS style elements.. is it safe to assume that??
Fransisco Wiles
@fwiles
Jun 18 2016 04:04
Best to give you an example...
<!-- You would use div's to group large chunks of code -->
<div>
<!-- You would use span to style smalls things like text or something -->

<p><span></span></p>
</div>
Dinesh
@Dinesh9387
Jun 18 2016 04:05
@fwiles @HorsemanJnr inline as in, it works only for one element at a time (Span) and block line as in, it works for all elements that come inside the div body correct???
@fwiles gotcha.. the ex cleared it out.. (y)
Charles Junior Kwanin
@HorsemanJnr

in-line as in it works for smaller chunks of code... block-line as in it's wraps huge chunks of code.

Hi guys I run into an insertsort algorith; And I am having trouble understanding a bit where a flag is decremented instead of incremented. Anyonecan help?
function insertionSort() {
var temp, inner;
for (var outer = 1; outer <= this.dataStore.length-1; ++outer) {
temp = this.dataStore[outer];
inner = outer;
while (inner > 0 && (this.dataStore[inner-1] >= temp)) {
this.dataStore[inner] = this.dataStore[inner-1];
--inner;
}
this.dataStore[inner] = temp;
}
}
My problem is the --inner line. I expected it to be ++inner
