You should add a <i class="fa fa-trash"></i> within your delete button element.
You should add a <i class="fa fa-info-circle"></i> within your info button element.
Make sure each of your i elements has a closing tag and <i class="fa fa-thumbs-up"></i> is in your like button element
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-4">
<button class="btn btn-block btn-primary"><i class="fa fa-thumbs-up"></i> Like</button>

<div class="col-xs-4">

@skyhorse3002 :sparkles:

  • remove class="form-control"from label (just above outdoor) - multiple occurrences (remove all)!
  • the input tag (which is currently the last code) should be moved to between the final 2 div's
  • this, class="form-control" goes in that input tag (along with type & placeholder which are already there).
  • Submit (in the input tag) should come after the opening & closing i tag/s (right before the closing button tag).
  • the last 2 code lines are the closing form & div tags.
  • this (formatwise)
    <input (with class, type, placeholder, & required)>
      <button (with class & type)><i (with class)></i>Submit</button>
    </form>

is positioned just before the last closing div.

@jeffersonnnn you're welcome! great work! :palm_tree:

Norvin Burrus
@ndburrus

@RohanParikh00 it depends, right? what if the data groupings suggest using multiple connected (multi-dimensional) arrays better support needed modelling?

  • using Shift + enter will give you additional line feeds (space) for pasting your code. also, the backticks (`) key is located to the left of the number one (#1) key.
  • further, you may find the two buttons (chat/compose & markdown - the chat/compose button alternates modes) to the right of the text entry area helpful.
  • you can also edit (reply, quote, edit, delete) text after it's been entered by clicking on the three (3) dots to the right of the text entry area (it will appear when you hover to the right of the time stamp). or, you can press the up arrow/key.

@Bloemenstraat if you're getting cross origin errors in the chrome error console (likely the case because FCC only teaches getJSON), then you need to learn jsonp callbacks which is required for a lot of api calls you'll be using in the next few challenges

@Bloemenstraat a quick solution is $.getJSON("http://api.forismatic.com/api/1.0/?method=getQuote&format=jsonp&jsonp=?",function(json){ console.log(json); });
Try that, and see if it works. I do suggest to read up why this is needed over the regular json function though after you get it working

@JOH2242082 because it actually has you create pretty awesome web apps. Rather than taking a 20 minute course on a subject, you have to build an app that takes 20 hours all while learning and then putting it to use.
So what you learn actually sticks.

@itsalbow I have been supplementing with w3schools.com for syntax, but I have found that sometimes syntax can be an issue on FCC

and this is my script

a period means you are targeting any element that has that class. If you wanted to target the ids, you could do this with the same effect:

"#id" means you're targeting an id; ".class" means you are targeting a class; "element name" means it is a tag element, like body or button.

Hey, working on the Twitch.tv api right now, is there some way to access the information of an account that's shut down? FreeCodeCamp gave two accounts: brunofin and cornster404, but plugging it into the json website, I got {"error":"Bad Request","message":"Requests must be made over SSL","status":400} , and apparently, that can't be used by Javascript....

you can do so by concatenating all the params together, @mjamil016

Ah, so two things @CynthiaPulley -
the class you made,.smaller-image {width: 100px;} you made well, but
it goes in the same style section as everything else,
you only need the one set of <style> </style> tags,

you can put it after

p {
font-size: 16px;
font-family: Monospace;
}

before </style>

does that part make sense, @CynthiaPulley ?

rphares

Aug 14 2016 05:34
so, when you make the class in the <style> section, you are telling it "everything with this label" (in your case, smaller-image) "should be like this" (in your case 100px wide). You do all that when you write .smaller-image {width: 100px;} in the <style> section,
but, you then have to give the label to the content at the bottom, so it knows which part should be like that,
in your case, you need to give the label to the image,
you do that by adding class= "EXAMPLE" to the tag

<style>

h2 {color: red;}

</style>

<h2>CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p>Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet</p>

Your h2 element should be red.
Your h2 element should have the class red-text.
Your stylesheet should declare a red-text class and have its color set to red.
Do not use inline style declarations like style="color: red" in your h2 element.

Tony Ko
@htkoca
Aug 14 2016 06:55

okay make a class .thin-green-border { border-color: green; border-width: 10px; border-style: solid; }

In your style section @vynlthrash

silver537
@silver537
Aug 14 2016 06:55

@vynlthrash
CSS borders have properties like style, color and width

For example, if we wanted to create a red, 5 pixel border around an HTML element, we could use this class:

<style>
  .thin-red-border {
    border-color: red;
    border-width: 5px;
    border-style: solid;
  }
</style>

Create a class called thick-green-border that puts a 10-pixel-wide green border with a style of solid around an HTML element, and apply that class to your cat photo.

Remember that you can apply multiple classes to an element by separating each class with a space within its class attribute. For example:

<img class="class1 class2">

@AnkitJha16 the addClass function is spelled wrong
@AnkitJha16 you have 'addclass()' instead of 'addClass()'
Capitals matter

@AnkitJha16 You're the fifth person I've seen that wasn't informed about case sensitivity in JS. If that isn't covered in the lessons it really should be. Not trying to put you down, I'm questioning if it's even in there since I'm not as far in as you.

@AnkitJha16 I agree, a single page to illustrate the reason why the second word onwards in a function name needs capitalizing would be ideal

Use the $("button") selector.
Use the $(".btn") selector.
Use the $("#target1") selector.
Only add one class with each of your three selectors.
Your #target1 element should have the classes animated‚ shake and btn-primary.

<script>
$(document).ready(function() {$("button").addclass("animated")
$(".btn").addclass("animated")
$("#target1").addclass("animated")
});
</script>

<div class="container-fluid">
<h3 class="text-primary text-center">jQuery Playground</h3>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-6">
<h4>#left-well</h4>
<div class="well" id="left-well">
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target1">#target1</button>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target2">#target2</button>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target3">#target3</button>
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-xs-6">
<h4>#right-well</h4>
<div class="well" id="right-well">
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target4">#target4</button>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target5">#target5</button>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target6">#target6</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
