It may be a lot of gibberish at first....but as you progress through the exercises, you'll get to work with more of its features (like the grid) and it'll start to make sense.
And with that...I am on the road! I'll see you all later. Enjoy yourselves and happy coding.

<script>
$(document).ready(function() {

});
</script>

Although it is possible to add multiple classes in a single .addClass() call, let's add them to the same element in three separate ways.

Using .addClass(), add only one class at a time to the same element, three different ways:

Add the animated class to all elements with type button.

Add the shake class to all the buttons with class .btn.

Add the btn-primary class to the button with id #target1.

Note
You should only be targeting one element and adding only one class at a time. Altogether, your three individual selectors will end up adding the three classes shake, animated, and btn-primary to #target1.

im super confused at what im supposed to do here
Norvin Burrus
@ndburrus
Aug 18 2016 00:41

@Agarza1921 :sparkles:

  • ok, reference instructions, here:

Now you know three ways of targeting elements: by type: $("button"), by class: $(".btn"), and by id $("#target1").

so, we need to use each of these methods.
the bold elements will be closest to the $ (in parentheses)
the classes to be added to these elements are identifed, here:
Add the animated class to all elements with type button. Add the shake class to all the buttons with class .btn. Add the btn-primary class to the button with id #target1.

Lol I'm not sure if that was for me, if so, yes it is. my web browser is set to 100%. I can choose a "bug" option.. maybe i will see what that does..
or if you can check it out later just let me know and i'll check back. I'll do some research and see if I can't figure out why its supposedly wrong.

for the section of code posted, we are handling the 3 buttons Like, Info, and Delete.

  • the code structure should be

    <div...>
       <div...>
            <button...>Like</button>
       </div>
    // add 2 buttons (Info, & Delete here - same format as Like button)
    </div>
  • the class for the outermost div should be "row"

  • the class for each button div should be "col-xs-4"

Brownie Points

The number beside your picture on Free Code Camp tells you how many Brownie Points you have.

A user profile picture next to a with Brownie Points score

There are two ways you can get Brownie Points:

  1. Complete challenges - you get one point per challenge you complete
  2. Help other campers in chat - each time you help another camper and they thank you (by typing "thanks @yourname"), you will get a point

Brownie Points help you look like the kind of person who codes a lot, shares relevant links, and helps people.

They also add to your Streak.

You can build web forms that actually submit data to a server using nothing more than pure HTML. You can do this by specifying an action on your form element.

For example:

<form action="/url-where-you-want-to-submit-form-data"></form>

Nest your text field in a form element. Add the action="/submit-cat-photo" attribute to this form element. Nest your text input element within a form element.....needa do this to..... <input type="text" placeholder="cat photo URL">

<form action="/submit-cat-photo"></form>

@Boris1011 :sparkles:
The algorithm to convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit is the temperature in Celsius times 9/5, plus 32. (reference the instructions)
we can rewrite the equation/formula to:
Fahrenheit = Celsius(9/5), plus + 32.
which is F = C(9/5) + 32.
alright, so we need to convert this formula to code!

Challenge Check Radio Buttons and Checkboxes by Default

You can set a checkbox or radio button to be checked by default using the checked attribute.

To do this, just add the word "checked" to the inside of an input element. For example,

<div>
The <div> element has no special meaning at all.
Point
It can be used with the class, lang, and title attributes to mark up semantics common to a group of consecutive elements.
When no other element is suitable, the <div> element is used as an element of last resort. Otherwise, it leads to poor accessibility for reader.

@amg1
Aug 18 2016 06:22
Target the same element with multiple jQuery Selectors

Now you know three ways of targeting elements: by type: $("button"), by class: $(".btn"), and by id $("#target1").

Run tests (ctrl + enter)
Reset Help Bug
Use the $("button") selector.

I tried putting it in like <p p { font-size: 16px; } >
where do I put it
Hang Chu
@hangmchu
Aug 18 2016 08:09
@frugalpov If you want to do it like that which is called "inline element": <p style="font-size: 16px">
But the challenge asks you to create a new "p" element under the "style" tag, like this: <style>
.red-text {
color: red;
}
p {
font-size: 16px;
}
</style>
So there're at least two ways to style an element.
