Aug 25 2016 00:30
is this the correct way of adding classes?

@jtago1 no.
which lesson is this?
jtago1
@jtago1
Aug 25 2016 00:33
this is the add borders around your elements
Norvin Burrus
@ndburrus
Aug 25 2016 00:34

@jtago1 :sparkles:

  • ok, .thick-green-border is a class, and it can be added like this (per the example code)

    <style>
    .thin-red-border {
      border-color: red;
      border-width: 5px;
      border-style: solid;
    }
    </style>

    so this (below) needs to be adjusted

    .thick-green-border=class"
    "class1: border-color: green;
    "class2: border-width: 5px;
    "class3: border-style: solid;
    }
  • also, we need to include thick-green-border (no dot/period) class to img tag.
    note: both classes can be included in the same set of parentheses.

clear as mud? :)

  • using Shift + enter will give you additional line feeds (space) for pasting your code. also, the backticks (`) key is located to the left of the number one (# 1) key.
  • further, you may find the two buttons (chat/compose & markdown - the chat/compose button alternates modes) to the right of the text entry area helpful.
  • you can also edit (reply, quote, edit, delete) text after it's been entered by clicking on the three (3) dots to the right of the text entry area (it will appear when you hover to the right of the time stamp). or, you can press the up arrow/key.

Eric Weiss
@eweiss17
Aug 25 2016 02:44
you can set your font size in em's instead of px.
“Ems” (em): The “em” is a scalable unit that is used in web document media. An em is equal to the current font-size, for instance, if the font-size of the document is 12pt, 1em is equal to 12pt. Ems are scalable in nature, so 2em would equal 24pt, .5em would equal 6pt, etc. Ems are becoming increasingly popular in web documents due to scalability and their mobile-device-friendly nature.

var choices=["a","b","c","d","e","f","g","h","i"];

function removeChoice(){
  var val = choices[index];

    choices.splice(index, 1);
                 return choices };

choice =choices[Math.floor(Math.random()*choices.length)];

 var answer=[];
var userX=false;
var userO=false;

var user;
$(document).ready(function(){
  user=  prompt("Choose X or O","Make sure its Caps!");

if (user=="X") {
   userX=true ;

  var id = $(this).attr('id'); //logs clicked box ID and pushes into array
  switch(id){
   //REMOVED SWITCHES FOR BREVITY
 cpu(); removeChoice();
     });
So we have choices array.. choice picks one element randomly... cpu uses that random choice one time...
QUESTION:::: why does CPU only work once??? IF its because Choice Is only 1 number and doesnt change WHY doesn my REMOVECHOICE Function Change it as its called after cpu(); which should reset choice??

Hello again. I'm on the css exercise "Size your images"Create a class called smaller-image and use it to resize the image so that it's only 100 pixels wide." This code should work and I did run it with 100% zoom? <style>

how to solve

Create a new p element around your a element.
Your a element should be nested within your new p element.
Your p element should have the text "View more " (with a space after it).

Manoj H L
@manojhl
Aug 25 2016 09:19
@jdeaki Remember one thing
Java, C, Python etc are just languages, once you get a firm grip of programing you can learn any language in a matter of week and start coding in that language
SO learn the basic of programming first
jdeaki
@jdeaki
Aug 25 2016 09:20
@manojhl So you're essentially saying I should learn Javascript first?
Manoj H L
@manojhl
Aug 25 2016 09:21
@jdeaki sry I rephrased it. learning programming is important. Not what language you code with
jdeaki
@jdeaki
Aug 25 2016 09:22
So what do you think I should learn first for basic understanding ? @manojhl
Manoj H L
@manojhl
Aug 25 2016 09:22
but if you ask me JavaScript is the best language to start with and any the only go to language for web

Hello guys, I’m a little stuck with something, I hope you can help me out. Let me describe the issue. I have a set of buttons and I’m trying to apply a 50% radius to them, I tried with one of them this way:
Screen Shot 2016-08-25 at 11.19.37.png
It worked, now the set looks like this:
Screen Shot 2016-08-25 at 11.20.03.png
So now, since I have to apply this to all buttons I created a class this way:
Screen Shot 2016-08-25 at 11.20.11.png
Screen Shot 2016-08-25 at 11.20.39.png
But for some reason if I do it this way the radius is not applied, do you know what I’m doing wrong?

.btn-aux {

the border-radius is overwritten by other css properties

@adityaparab
Aug 25 2016 09:58
@bravas : If you take a look closely, the first button inside each button-group div is set to haveborder-top-right-radius and border-bottom-right-radius to be 0
that is the precedence it get's applied with.

@diomed
Aug 25 2016 09:59
some padding or margin would be nice :yum:
