  • we need to remove this class="pink-text" from the body element (within the style tags).
  • the class pink-text should be placed in the opening h1 tag.

Exercise
Create a function named sortAndReverse. This function should:

take one argument, an array
return the array sorted in reverse

Sep 06 2016 00:19
crap
how?
Garrus Napp
@GarrusNapp
Sep 06 2016 00:20
@miruog in <style> </style> you define your css style. You created class already named red-text and then you applied it to <p> later
@miruog look carefuly because you have everything in your code you need to understand it. Just consider your .red-text and how it's applied
miranda
@miruog
Sep 06 2016 00:20
ok i'll try
Garrus Napp
@GarrusNapp
Sep 06 2016 00:21
.red-text { color: red; }
this is how you define a class
<p class="red-text">
this is how you apply it
You define all classes, id, etc. inside <style></style>

Garrus Napp
@GarrusNapp

and you apply it outside
miranda
@miruog
Sep 06 2016 00:27
yeah
but when i try to apply another code outside
the one under it goes red
Garrus Napp
@GarrusNapp
Sep 06 2016 00:27
@miruog so in your last code that you posted you tried to create an html object inside CSS, that's not the way you should do it
Nicketa

@ndburrus what do u mean by "need smaller-image class in img element"

@miruog
Sep 06 2016 00:27

Garrus Napp
@GarrusNapp
Sep 06 2016 00:29
@miruog you want it to have a class that you defined in CSS part, in <style></style>
miranda
@miruog
Sep 06 2016 00:29
how do i do that?
Garrus Napp
@GarrusNapp
Sep 06 2016 00:29
@miruog so you add class="smaller-image"
@miruog inside <img> tag
@miruog <img class ="smaller-image" src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. ">
miranda
@miruog

like this?
Garrus Napp
@GarrusNapp
Sep 06 2016 00:32
@miruog almost
@miruog in css you use dot to tell CSS it's a class that you define. But in HTML you already told it it's class, by saying <img CLASS=...>
@GarrusNapp so you skip dot in html and just use name
miranda
@miruog

Hi, I have array as below:

var a = [
          {
            "page": 7,
            "results": [
            {
            "poster_path": null,
            "adult": false,
            "overview": "",
            "release_date": "2016-09-01",
            "genre_ids": [],
            "id": 409304,
            "original_title": "Deserto",
            "original_language": "pt",
            "title": "Deserto",
            "backdrop_path": null,
            "popularity": 1.7676,
            "vote_count": 0,
            "video": false,
            "vote_average": 0
            },
            {
            "poster_path": null,
            "adult": false,
            "overview": "",
            "release_date": "2016-09-01",
            "genre_ids": [],
            "id": 409312,
            "original_title": "O Último Trago",
            "original_language": "pt",
            "title": "O Último Trago",
            "backdrop_path": null,
            "popularity": 1.7676,
            "vote_count": 0,
            "video": false,
            "vote_average": 0
            }
            ],
            "dates": {
            "maximum": "2016-09-05",
            "minimum": "2016-07-25"
            },
            "total_pages": 34,
            "total_results": 675
          }
        ];
console.log(a.results[0].id);

How do I retrieve the value of 409304 from a key called id ?

As you can see, I try to execute using a.results[0].id but it gives me error message VM351:46 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property '0' of undefined(…). I appreciate your help.

@beyallluv you have to add class="smaller-image" to the img tag
@beyallluv you define the class in the style tags, then you have to actually go add the class where you want it to be applied

yeah, and also..(last issue I promise), when I click contact me on my navbar, it drops me down below my contact me text, right above the <hr> tag. I had it ending up right above the white contact me text before but after playing around with some other things it messed up.
Margaret
@Margaret2
Sep 06 2016 01:49
@jpbnois it's because you have your contact me div set to 800px high, so there's a bunch of extra space that is not being filled up, remove height and padding from .contactMe
jpbnois
@jpbnois
Sep 06 2016 01:50
yikes..thanks lol
I basically c+p all my section divs and forgot to delete the ones that weren't using images
the ones with images weren't right unless set to 800px
i'm still having trouble with my contact me navbar though.
Margaret
@Margaret2
Sep 06 2016 01:52
@jpbnois next issue is because you have id="contactme" applied to two elements. You can only apply id to one element at a time, so try removing id="contactme" from your h3
jpbnois
@jpbnois
Sep 06 2016 01:52
no, still doesn't work.
you're right though, it should only be applied to one.

mitchell
@mitchellfreecodecamp
Sep 06 2016 02:14
Remove the style attribute from your h2 element.
Create a style element.
Your h2 element should be blue.
Ensure that your stylesheet h2 declaration is valid with a semicolon and closing brace.
Make sure all your style elements are valid and have a closing tag.

Can anyone help with this one font size of image needs to change to 100px not sure if I'm entering it in the right row
Your img element should have the class smaller-image.

Your image should be 100 pixels wide. Browser zoom should be at 100%.

I'm typing it in like this

Hey , What is the best way to learn java?
Pinedab
@pinedab
Sep 06 2016 03:16
@abhirana13 Depends how you learn the best - personally, I'd say get your feet wet [maybe try a video course on udemy or coursera or your local library]then knock out different java resources/courses/videos/reading,etc. until you feel confident. Hopefully you'll do mini projects/solve problems along the way as you learn new concepts and after learning a good amt, apply it to a big project(s)

Sergii

@rungol Here is the answer:

var count = 0;

function cc(card) {
  // Only change code below this line
    // Only change code below this line
  switch(card) {
    case 2:
    case 3:
    case 4:
    case 5:
    case 6:
      count++;
      break;
    case 7:
    case 8:
    case 9:
      break;
    case 10:
    case 'J':
    case 'Q':
    case 'K':
    case 'A':
      count--;
      break;
  }
  if (count <= 0) {
    return count + " Hold";} else
    return count + " Bet";
  // Only change code above this line
}

// Add/remove calls to test your function.
// Note: Only the last will display
cc(2); cc(3); cc(7); cc('K'); cc('A');
@rungol You just don't need output variable) You need to change the global varialbe, so you can increment it (++) or decrement (--)
rungol
@rungol
Sep 06 2016 05:36

@sergey-zhuravel Thanks, I'll double-check my formatting, but it isn't working for me with the adjustment. Maybe it's in the format of the final return lines.

<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
$("button")
$(".btn");
$("#target1");
addClass("animated shake btn-primary");
});
</script>
Use the $("button") selector.
Use the $(".btn") selector.
Use the $("#target1") selector.
Only add one class with each of your three selectors.
Your #target1 element should have the class animated‚ shake and btn-primary.
Only use jQuery to add these class to the element.

@shaannasia I rechecked, it's default bootstrap's nav behavior. You can only change some CSS to change this behavior, or at least to decrease that space before the menu itself, there are some minimal widths.
