Hello! Can someone shed some light on why this code is coming up as wrong?

// Example
function ourRandomRange(ourMin, ourMax) {

  return Math.floor(Math.random() * (ourMax - ourMin + 1)) + ourMin;
}

ourRandomRange(1, 9);

// Only change code below this line.

function randomRange(myMin, myMax) {

  return Math.floor(Math.random() * (myMax - myMin + 1)) + myMin; // Change this line

}

// Change these values to test your function
var myRandom = randomRange(5, 15);

@marcandre311 - I just went back to my lesson "Global Scope and Functions", and I cannot get it to pass, either (I did have it checked off before as being completed.) For all intents and purposes, the code looks to be correct, but the test will not pass:

// Declare your variable here
var myGlobal = 10;

function fun1() {
  // Assign 5 to oopsGlobal Here
  oopsGlobal = 5;
}

// Only change code above this line
function fun2() {
  var output = "";
  if (typeof myGlobal != "undefined") {
    output += "myGlobal: " + myGlobal;
  }
  if (typeof oopsGlobal != "undefined") {
    output += " oopsGlobal: " + oopsGlobal;
  }
  console.log(output);
}

And the output for the test appears to be correct, but the last test "Do not declare oopsGlobal using the var keyword" will not pass.

Ken Haduch

@jacobwilliams1 - between the two <style> and </style> tags, and not within any other style rules that are defined, you want to define a class .pink-text and put curly braces, add color: pink; Very similar to the code that is already there, make sure to put . before the class name .pink-text

@Subbycoon - I think that the idea for that is to use a switch to group the cards together, instead of having to write code like if (card === 1 | | card === 2 || card ===3 ) etc. You can just use:

switch card:
    case 1:
    case 2:
    case 3:
        // do whatever you're supposed to do for that group of cards
        break;

Then when it is time to test the count, more appropriate to use if ... else

@Subbycoon - okay, that looks pretty good, one slight problem is that you have to have the J, and other alphabetic characters quoted, since they are string values: 'J', etc. The numeric values are fine. And as @Manish-Giri points out, the count value should be incremented as count++ or decremented count--;, and you do not have to do count = count; just break there.

Guys, in this: Each of your Bootstrap buttons should be nested within its own div element with the class col-xs-4.
I do this:

<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-4">
<button class="btn btn-block btn-primary">Like</button>
<button class="btn btn-block btn-info">Info</button>
<button class="btn btn-block btn-danger">Delete</button>

@bishman - you have to define a CSS class .smaller-image- basically, take the example code that they show for .larger-image and paste it between the <style> and </style> tags change the word larger to smaller, and change the width to the appropriate value. Then use class="smaller-image" on the <img element on the page.

Hello everyone! I need a little help with using CSS class to style an element. The instructions are to Give your h2 element the class attribute with a value of 'red-text'. Its not working and I think it is because I haven't assigned the code to h2 element. I don't know how todo that. Right now I have:

<style>
.red-text {

Hi! I'm needing help with the challenge "Add Borders Around Your Elements"
They want me to create a class called thick-green-border that puts a 10px-wide green border with a style of solid around an HTML element and apply that class to my cat photo.
I've already added
.thick-green-border {border-color:green; border-width: 10px; border-style: solid;} to my <style> </style> area.

This is the code I have for my image area as well.
<img class=smaller-image class=thick-green-border" src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. ">

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

My checklist at the bottom is:

Your img element should have the class smaller-image
Your img element should have the class thick-green-border
Give your image a border width of 10px
Give your image a border style of solid
The border around your img element should be green

So far I've only achieved the first one and I can't for the life of me get the rest.

Sep 10 2016 07:53

CSS has a property called width that controls an element's width. Just like with fonts, we'll use px (pixels) to specify the image's width.

For example, if we wanted to create a CSS class called larger-image that gave HTML elements a width of 500 pixels, we'd use:

<style>
.larger-image {
width: 500px;
}
</style>
Create a class called smaller-image and use it to resize the image so that it's only 100 pixels wide.

@NadaZaki It seems like a few of you are having trouble with that. I'm trying to help, but I don't see anything wrong with your code. When I was on that step, it helped me to go to the next step and look at the way they coded it there then go back, clear my code, and type it again the same way they did.
@NadaZaki click "Reset" to clear the code. Don't just delete it or use backspace. That always worked better for me.

@twigy07 You have ".smaller-image" between your style tags, that's good. But it's not doing anything yet. It's supposed to make an element's width of 100px. But we have to specify which element. We do this by using class="class-name" attribute which we specify in the opening tag of an element.

Here are examples of applying a previously defined class "smaller-text" to <p> and <h1> elements:

<p class="smaller-text"></p>

<h1 class=smaller-text"></h1>

How would you apply the same class to <img> element?

  .smaller-image {
    width: 100px;
  }
  h2 {

@pritc @pritc Target the same element with multiple jQuery Selectors
Now you know three ways of targeting elements: by type: $("button"), by class: $(".btn"), and by id $("#target1").

Although it is possible to add multiple classes in a single .addClass() call, let's add them to the same element in three separate ways.

Using .addClass(), add only one class at a time to the same element, three different ways:

Add the animated class to all elements with type button.

Add the shake class to all the buttons with class .btn.

Add the btn-primary class to the button with id #target1

@dayfiri your code is quite messy, what is item or items supposed to contain?
Matko Hromin
@Dayfiri
Sep 10 2016 12:25
items = channels.forEach(function(item){
      return "https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/" + stream + "/" + item + "?callback=?";
for each element in array called channels return return string you see below where item is array string
Rohit Pai
@RP99
Sep 10 2016 12:27
@dayfiri Ok, but you are passing it again in JSON so what is it supposed to do? Besides create a anonymous function that will call myURL() method
So items is individual links?
Matko Hromin
@Dayfiri
Sep 10 2016 12:29

@RP99 I know I am doing it wrong that is why I am here. And this is what I want:

I want to console .log -> "https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/" + stream + "/" + item + "?callback=?"; for each element in array where is item represents array element(string)

Rohit Pai
@RP99
Sep 10 2016 12:31
@dayfiri
Ok do one thing put items in a separate function and call it from anon function
(function (){
})();
This is an anon function that invokes automatically
put JSON code in anon function as well
Matko Hromin
@Dayfiri
Sep 10 2016 12:39
@RP99 sorry but can you explain it more. I don't really understand. If I make separate functions there is always something out of scope to be catched
Mustaghees Butt
@MustagheesButt
Sep 10 2016 12:40
@Dayfiri why don't you console.log instead of return if that's all you want
`
Matko Hromin
@Dayfiri
Sep 10 2016 12:42
@MustagheesButt Because it is not "that simple". I need to have my "full" url that I can use through the code. I need make more API calls that output different stuff.
I have things to output when I use "streams" string and when I use "channels" string. And I always need to use that info on everyone in my array
example: I need to have output on my html that contains -> picture, name, online/offlien status, games that they are playing for everyone in array
Mustaghees Butt
@MustagheesButt
Sep 10 2016 12:47
@Dayfiri you want items to be an array. Then instead of items = channel.forEach... just use `channel.forEach(function(item, index) { items[index] = "https://api.tw..." });
channel.forEach(function(item, index) { items[index] = "https://api.tw..." });

Matko Hromin

Sep 10 2016 12:51
When I call API I use this string 'https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/streams/freecodecamp?callback=?'where streams is a string that I will input on my own which is ok. But when I make call I ask for example: data._id of all streams and when I say all I mean on everyone in channels list which is made of maybe 10 string names
insted of freecodecamp in example think of it as title of a streamer that needs to go there

Use Clockwise Notation to give the element with the green-box class a margin of 40px on its top and left side, but only 20px on its bottom and right side.
.green-box {
background-color: green;
margin: 40px 20px 20px 40px;
}

@Dayfiri because channels.forEach.... doesn't return anything so items = channels.forEach...... won't do any good
Matko Hromin
@Dayfiri
Sep 10 2016 13:26
@MustagheesButt 1)data.channel._id is undefined
2) Why would you store data in any kind of array when by default values are saved in array called channels ?

@codeandrew Hey, not really ( well it depends on distribution) but I am using ubuntu mate and I have everything I need to use. You just need some time to get use to it after windows. But it super because you do with it what you want. You're the master of pc and not vice versa
end for being dev is must to use
