I'm having a hard time punching this through. It says create a class called silver-background. This is my code.

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
}

h2 {
font-family: Lobster, Monospace;
}

p {
font-size: 16px;
font-family: Monospace;
}

.thick-green-border {
border-color: green;
border-width: 10px;
border-style: solid;
border-radius: 50%;
}

.smaller-image {
width: 100px;
}
.silver-background {
background-color: silver;
}
</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p>Click here for <a href="#">cat photos</a>.</p>

<a href="#"><img class="smaller-image thick-green-border" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. " src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat"></a>

<div> class="silver-background">
<p>Things cats love:</p>
<ul>

</ul>
<p>Top 3 things cats hate:</p>
<ol>
<li>flea treatment</li>
<li>thunder</li>
<li>other cats</li>
</ol>
</div>

Havin an issue with the Use a CSS Class to Style an Element challenge

h2 {
color: blue;
}
</style>

<h2>CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p>Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>

is the code, and I need to change the class to red, and update the code so the text is blue
Prabu Rangki

@KeatonZ just add a class to your ‘img’ tag.
<img class=“img-responsive”>

-lowercase letters -numbers -underscore

@StifanoT A class in simple terms is something you define which can then be used to alter any of the elements you assign the class to.
Prabu Rangki
@praburangki
Sep 17 2016 00:58
@StifanoT for example, you have 5 paragraph, and you want to make 3 paragraph red color and the other 2 blue.
rather than declaring each paragraph just add a class to each of that paragraph
@dxrodriguez07 add the smaller-image class to your img tag.

@StifanoT For example, if you create a class by the name of pink-text in the <style> section of your page you can then put whatever properties you want to be associated with that class such as color:pink. To do that your code would look like this:
.pink-text{
color: pink;

@StifanoT Let’s say you have a hundred lines of codes and you have a lot of ‘p’ tags. then you code like this:

<p style=“color: red”> lorem ipsum</p>
<!-- bunch of codes -->
<p style=“color: red”> lorem ipsum</p>
<!-- bunch of codes -->
<p style=“color: red”> lorem ipsum</p>
<!-- bunch of codes -->
<p style=“color: red”> lorem ipsum</p>
<!-- bunch of codes -->
<p style=“color: red”> lorem ipsum</p>

then later on you want to change the color, changing it one by one will be a hassle. instead just use a class.

<p class="main-text"> lorem ipsum</p>
<!-- bunch of codes -->
<p class="main-text"> lorem ipsum</p>
<!-- bunch of codes -->
<p class="main-text"> lorem ipsum</p>
<!-- bunch of codes -->
<p class="main-text"> lorem ipsum</p>
<!-- bunch of codes -->
<p class="main-text"> lorem ipsum</p>

so it is much easier to just change it in your css:

.main-text {
color: blue;
}

Add a link (using <a></a> tags) between your <div></div> tags. You can set its href attribute to go to any website, and you can make the link text itself say whatever you want!

On the CSS tab:

Set your link's text-decoration to none. Give it whatever color or font-family you like!

Your h2 element should use the font Lobster.
Your h2 element should degrade to the font Monospace when Lobster is not available.
Comment out your call to Google for the Lobster font by putting <!-- in front of it. Be sure to close your comment by adding -->.

I'm about half way through and all of my coding as been way easier ever since then.
But since, I didn't have ten thousand dollars laying around to pay for the official Harvard extension course trying to go it alone has been a bit rough.

Sep 17 2016 06:57
@Yovvel Yeah, they also offer the course directly through the Harvard site at which point I'm pretty sure you're getting more resources for paying a lot more.
There is a forum here on gitter but it's almost always empty.

Your form element should have the background-color of green.
this in style #cat-photo-element {
background-color: green;
}
but not sure how to add it to the form
bc Do not give your form any class or style attributes.

Ok cool, so I'm only on my second challenge. I was trying to do something and couldn't really figure out how. So as usual, I try to google for the solution. But this time, I feel like I may have come up with something that just isn't possible... I'd like to have a background image with a text block on it. So far so good. I'd like the background image and the text block on it to not move when scrolling the page. Also no problem. But I'd like the page to scroll over the image and the text block. The page will scroll over the image just fine, but not over the text block, seeing as it is not really part of the background. I found ways to have text as background, but no ways to have a text block as background that is on top of another background that can be fixed and that the page will scroll over. Is that even possible?

@ThatLazyDude - the solution shown near the bottom of the page looks interesting - the text really isn't in the "background" but the person "layered" divs on top of one another using z-index settings - there isn't enough text on the example that was linked http://jsfiddle.net/7rYnp/2/ to see what happens if things start to scroll?

You need 2 p elements with Kitty Ipsum text.
Change the Font Size of an Element

<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
}
p {font-size:16px;}
</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p class="red-text">Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet</p>
<p>Kitty ipsum dolor sit</p>

why wrong : Your p element should contain the first few words of the provided additional kitty ipsum text.

hi guys, can anyone help me out here?i wonder what's wrong coz this code won't pass the challenge in palindromes
function palindrome(str) {
  // Good luck!
  var re = /[^A-Za-z0-9]/g;

  var lowRegStr = str.toLowerCase().replace(re, "");

  var reverseStr = lowRegStr.split("").join("");

  if (reverseStr === lowRegStr) {
    return true;
  } else {
    return false;
  }

}

Inside the same <style> tag that contains your red-text class, create an entry for p elements and set the font-size to 16 pixels (16px). How do I exactly do that?
