Use the jQuery addClass() function to give the classes animated and bounce to your button elements.
Only use jQuery to add these classes to the element.

how to clear the following error?
Give the text input in your form the class form-control.

Hi Can someone help me to achieve this challenge
Make the second child in each of your well elements bounce. You must target the children of element with the target class.

<script>

    $("#target1").prop("disabled", true);

    $("#target1").parent().css("background-color", "red");
    $(".well:nth-child(2)").addClass("animated bounce");

  });

but isn't is suppose to be #target ?
Amira Moussa
@AmiraMoussa
Sep 26 2016 02:26
so you need to add a class to the 2nd button target
no target is class
and target1 , target2 ,.... are ids

@Deepak8717 <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target1">#target1</button>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target2">#target2</button>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target3">#target3</button>

all of them have target as a common class but each has a seperate id

I'm doing the "Inherit Styles from the Body Element" challenge, and it says that:"all your other elements will inherit your body element's styles." I doubt the validity of this statement. I believe there are styles that the child element cann't inherit from its parent, such as margin, diaplay, padding, etc.

@Superman34 Add class="smaller-image" to your <img> tag. <img class="smaller-image" src="source" alt="alt">
@coderookie1 Two things are wrong. You have the width: 100px declared on img, which means all images will get that, not just ones with the "smaller-image" class. Second, inside the <img> tag, you don't need a period when giving the class attribute a value. You do need it when defining it inside the style tags, though.

Well a dictionary is just the normal term of 150,000 words in a text file. The hash table I made was an array with a length of 2048 and in each position of the array I can store an unlimited number of words with a different data structure.
The purpose: a spell checker that will check a file of 200,000 words in 0.09 seconds.

Wat you have to do is
Add individual different classes to all the three selectors, and the result shud end you up with all the three classes applied on #target1 though you apllied seperately, bt all the selectors had combined impact on #target1

Sep 26 2016 05:44
okay awesome. so i need to "nest all of our HTML in a div element with the class container-fluid"
Darren
@DarrenfJ
Sep 26 2016 05:45
ok.. so take all the code below the </style> tag (above is the CSS, below is the hmtl)
and put a <div> at the top of it all, and a closing </div> at the bottom.. your top one has the class fluid-container as well
which is a bootstrap class
you know the syntax for adding classes to html elements?

for later reading.. from this: http://getbootstrap.com/css/

"Containers
Bootstrap requires a containing element to wrap site contents and house our grid system. You may choose one of two containers to use in your projects. Note that, due to padding and more, neither container is nestable.

Use .container for a responsive fixed width container.

<div class="container">
  ...
</div>

Use .container-fluid for a full width container, spanning the entire width of your viewport.

<div class="container-fluid">
  ...
</div>

Darren

@Geryangro you will use jQuery to emphasize a part of the text.. using jQuery's command that changes hmtl

@Geryangro if it is that exercise, they give an example:
"Here's how you would rewrite and emphasize the text of our heading:
$("h3").html("<em>jQuery Playground</em>");
in teh exericse, you do it for the button target4
"Change the button with id target4 by emphasizing its text."
jadefox10200
@jadefox10200
Sep 26 2016 06:16
@xSpideyx Have you used splice() yet?
Darren
@DarrenfJ
Sep 26 2016 06:16
so teh h3 is replaces with what you would use for id in CSS for target4.. and the jQuery Playground is replaced with whatever is inside the target4 button in text..

given
var testArr = [1,2,3,4,5];

the code

testArr.push(6)

testArr now looks like this;

testArr[1,2,3,4,5,6]
Therefore, what I passed into push() was added to the end of testArr.
jadefox10200
@jadefox10200
Sep 26 2016 06:39
The assignment is to make the function do the work so you need to do the push inside the function and use the argument arr.
Say on line 5 for example.

Create a second p element after the existing p element with the following kitty ipsum text: Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.

Inside the same <style> tag that contains your red-text class, create an entry for p elements and set the font-size to 16 pixels (16px).

Here is my jQuery:

@Marmiz Yeah I went to the website and got the icons. With regard to them, I'm not sure about a few things. first, whether or not i have them in HTML correctly. second, how to link to them to websites. lastly, how to add an effect to them -- as if they were a button. if you got some time, could you give me some advice?

no, you use two columns. when you have a row div, then inside that two divs with class col-md-6 each div will be 6 units wide. the grid is 12 units wide. so they should fit side by side

Vladimir
@OXJIAMOH
Sep 26 2016 10:39

@Awesomezach you see

<div class="container-fluid">
<p>some text</p>
<div>some text 2</div>
</div>

here i got div with class container-fluid and 2 elements , p and div nested in it, you need to do something similar
