Your buttons should all be nested within the same div element with the class row.
Each of your Bootstrap buttons should be nested within its own div element with the class col-xs-4.
Make sure each of your button elements has a closing tag.
Make sure each of your div elements has a closing tag.

@somiajagadish A row is a pre-coded bootstrap class that divides a section horizontally into 12 equal pieces. The challenge is telling you to make your buttons take up 4 columns out of 12, or 1/3 of the page each

@enricofadly354 I think there's a bootstrap CSS class called center-block or something that can do that? Add the class "center-block" to the image and try it.
You should be able to use the img-responsive class with it, if you have already got that? Sorry if this doesn't help. :)

You can use Bootstrap's col-xs-* classes on form elements, too! This way, our radio buttons will be evenly spread out across the page, regardless of how wide the screen resolution is.

Nest all of your radio buttons within a <div class="row"> element. Then nest each of them within a <div class="col-xs-6"> element.

what do I do here?

@awb715 To be a front-end developer (somebody who creates the part of the website that people us - the visual aspect, the pages, etc.), you should know HTML, CSS, Javascript, and generally jQuery, Bootstrap, and maybe SASS.

To be a back-end developer (the person who interacts with the server, databases, etc.), or a full-stack developer (someone who does a bit of both), you should know the front-end stuff, mySQL, and maybe a programming language like Ruby or Python, I think.

@camperbot No problem. :)

@awb715 Don't worry, it is hard at the start! It takes a lot of practice at first, but you will get to a point where it becomes very enjoyable. :) I can recommend some resources, hopefully that isn't against the rules.

Sololearn have good apps for Apple and Android devices. Download the course you want from the App Store or Google Play. They also have a good website for computer users.

Codecademy have some good courses for computer users, for free.

Bento.io is a free-to-use website with a curriculum, and free resources listed for everything you need to learn for these jobs. You tick the skills off as you complete them!

Udacity is a good, cheaper alternative to University if you need some structured learning. You can earn a credential called a Nanodegree and make a good portfolio which will likely get you a job - even Google have hired their graduates. This does cost though.

Oct 06 2016 02:23

Change the Font Size of an Element
Font size is controlled by the font-size CSS property, like this:

h1 {
font-size: 30px;
}
Create a second p element after the existing p element with the following kitty ipsum text: Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.

Inside the same <style> tag that contains your red-text class, create an entry for p elements and set the font-size to 16 pixels (16px).

Note
Due to browser implementation differences, you may need to be at 100% zoom to pass the tests on this challenge.

Also, please do not add a class attribute to your new p element.

@Marmiz Yeah I'm following the nesting aspect. There just wasn't an example of how to nest an Input element into a Form element in the instructions, lol :) here's what I have now: <form input type="text" placeholder="cat photo URL" action="/submit-cat-photo"></form>

function cpuSeq() {

    cSeq.push(newChoice()); //get random choice into cSeq aray
    var i = 0;
    var interval =
      setInterval(function() {
        if (i >= cSeq.length) { //stops infi loop
          clearInterval(interval);
        } $(".panel").css({'pointer-events':'none'}); //HERE I SAY STOP USER CLICKS WHEN CPU PLAYING
        $("#" + cSeq[i]).toggleClass("animate");
        audioF[cSeq[i].toLowerCase()].play();
        i++;
        cpuTurn = 0;
         $(".panel").css({'pointer-events':'auto'}); // WHY ISNT THIS REVERTING BACK TO AUTO???
      }, 800);
        console.log(cSeq + cSeq.length, "player moves = ", pSeq);

Why isnt my .panel (reverting to auto click events when I change it after?
I say stop pointer events.. then later in the function make pointer events auto

  .red-text {
    color: red;
  }

  h2 {
    font-family: Lobster, Monospace;
  }

  p {
    font-size: 16px;
    font-family: Monospace;
  }

  .smaller-image{
    width:100px;
  }
</style>

so that is the style portion, you are pretty close, just need to make sure it is the same as the others
then this is the HTML portion

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<img class=smaller-image src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat">

<p class="red-text">Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>
<p class="red-text">Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in

after you created your image you need to add the class to where the image is in HTML

Oct 06 2016 03:37

inside the <style> tags goes a language called CSS, made specifically to tell how the element of your page should look like and behave.
They have their syntax with {} and selectors.
So let's start by creating a class called red-text that will give the text the color red.
1:

.red-text {
  color: red;
}

Now I have this property, but I have to tell the browser which element in my HTML should have it.
And that's where you start adding classes (or IDs) to HTML element.
So assuming that I have a small header somewhere <h4> I will assign it the property:
2:

<h4 class="red-text"> Will this text be red?</h4>

Once understood the concept flow, simply apply it to any element and any property you want (google it if you are unsure) to give your page's element the look you want!!

ok, I was using the code below but it won't work because the file is being opened with popen() outside of the function. Therefore, it creates a pipe and so the function returns the variable size as zero.
bool load(FILE* file, BYTE** content, size_t* length)
{
    // TODO
    int fd = fileno(file);
    struct stat st;
    int suc = fstat(fd, &st);
    if (suc != 0){
        error(500);
        printf("%d", suc);
    }

    int size = st.st_size;

    *content = malloc(size + 1);
    fread(*content, size, 1, file);
    printf("%d\n",size);
    *length = size;
    return true;
}

Sometimes your HTML elements will receive multiple styles that conflict with one another.

For example, your h1 element can't be both green and pink at the same time.

Let's see what happens when we create a class that makes text pink, then apply it to an element. Will our class override the body element's color: green; CSS property?

Create a CSS class called pink-text that gives an element the color pink.

Give your h1 element the class of pink-text.

@cannelflow that bootstrap link you’ve added via quickadd seems to not work, try the default link instead

Hello I'm stuck at the Uncomment HTML: final part, delete trailing comment tags. How can you do it ?

comment tags in HTML are <!-- and -->
those should all be removed

I know what <!-- and -->, don't know how to write for that command
Aaronyield388
@Aaronyield388
Oct 06 2016 06:16
you just need to delete certain comment tags and add others between your elements
@Aliutza
also, if anyone has any idea, i'm stuck on the size your images challenge. it's telling me to add smaller-image into my img element but i dont know where to put it to make it work....
Coy Sanders
@coymeetsworld
Oct 06 2016 06:19
nothing to write @Aliutza, you're removing
@Aaronyield388 there should be an example on left side
but smaller-image is a class you create inside your style tags, to apply it you give that class to the img by adding class attribute
i.e. <img src="" class="">
