Hi, I'm having trouble with 76 where I'm to use Font Awesome to include a thumbs up icon on my like button. I can get the thumbs up symbol to appear but I can't seem to get it to appear on my button along with the bootstrap formatting and the word like. I think its an issue of where to put <i class="fa fa-thumbs-up"> and where to put </i> within <button class="btn btn-block btn-primary"> Like</button>
If anyone knows where I should place it I'd be really grateful!

@ZangaCODE If you are still wondering around here check this link out http://bootsnipp.com/snippets/featured/navbar-fixed-on-scrolling-with-transition I think it looks pretty similar to what you are looking for. Might use it myself some time.

@ZangaCODE You can use jQuery by downloading the source files and including it in the <script> tag. Instructions here: https://learn.jquery.com/about-jquery/how-jquery-works/

Hi @arrizona79. You don't need to put anything in the parentheses after parent. Parent does not take any parameters. By using $("#target1").parent(), you are saying "select the parent of #target1".

i still cant get the second onePut the Like, Info and Delete buttons side-by-side by nesting all three of them within one <div class="row"> element, then each of them within a <div class="col-xs-4"> element.

The row class is applied to a div, and the buttons themselves can be nested within it.

hello again! I am having another problem: working on the cat-photo-element.. I have the cat-photo-element text in the style area, and i can get all check marks except having the form element with the background color.. according to what i read, an ID cannot accept two results? so how do i add in the element? this is what i have:

<form action="/submit-cat-photo" id="cat-photo-form">

@sweetsnaccs Your first div with the class of "row" has to nest all 3 buttons within in. After that do a div for each individual button all with a class of "col-xs-4". So at the end you should have the your first div sandwiching all other divs and buttons. and every button should have a div that sandwiches each one. lol make any sense?

@JoeKooner nav is always in the body, unless for some weird reason you don’t want nav to appear on your page, same goes for header.
You probably mean head and title - they go outside the body

@JoeKooner gotta read the documentation better! you’re missing navbar-default

<nav class="navbar navbar-default navbar-fixed-top”>

this prevents the clash

@Monicalada start by reseting your code

@JoeKooner read the documentation

Body padding required
The fixed navbar will overlay your other content, unless you add padding to the top of the <body>. Try out your own values or use our snippet below. Tip: By default, the navbar is 50px high.
body { padding-top: 70px; }
Make sure to include this after the core Bootstrap CSS.

@Monicalada once you create a <div class=“row”>, you’ll need this structure inside it
<div class=“col-xs-8”>
//h2 and a here
</div>

<div class=“col-xs-4”>
//img here
</div>
@jaykrishnaichapurapu the i tags go inside the button, not the other way

Can someone help with the algorithm for the "Sorted Union" exercise? I can do i with manual lines of code (like below) but can't figure out the loop....

function uniteUnique(arr) {
var finalArray = [];
var array = [];

for (i=0; i<arguments.length; i++){

array = array.concat(arguments[i]);

}

finalArray.push(array[0]);

}

if (finalArray[0] != array[1]){
finalArray.push(array[1]);
}

if (finalArray[0] != array[2] && finalArray[1] != array[2]){

finalArray.push(array[2]);

}

if (finalArray[0] != array[3] && finalArray[1] != array[3] && finalArray[2] != array[3]){

@Marmiz hi, it's the "Sorted Union" challenge in the intermed algorithms
i can't figure out how to create loops to achieve the above lines of code
```
```
if (finalArray[0] != array[1]){
    finalArray.push(array[1]);
  }

  if (finalArray[0] != array[2] && finalArray[1] != array[2]){
    finalArray.push(array[2]);
  }

  if (finalArray[0] != array[3] && finalArray[1] != array[3] && finalArray[2] != array[3]){

    finalArray.push(array[3]);
  }

@abs-code-lab a for loop perhaps?

@abs-code-lab I'm more curious about this line:

if (finalArray[0] != array[3] && finalArray[1] != array[3] && finalArray[2] != array[3]){

    finalArray.push(array[3]);
  }

Have you tried adding a console.log in there... I'd like to see what's the actual output :)

Oct 19 2016 02:50

@BesadaN I'm 99% sure it's that!

Your p element should contain the first few words of the provided additional kitty ipsum text.

Means that one of your p has a different text. The background code will look for exact match in text (i know it) So be sure to have the given text :)

@harishnwmsu - nesting means you have an element with an opening and closing tag, and you put another element within it. So an anchor has an <a> and </a>, opening and closing, you put the `<img> between those two.

@foxbuilder25 - jQuery is a javascript library that automates a lot of actions that you could manually code with your own javascript code. Effects like fading, scrolling, etc. It also has a number of nice features for selecting elements. It also (probably) accounts for browser differences in the way things work, usually a feature of a library like this (and CSS libraries, too.) That's my quick summary. You can probably google that or look at the jquery website for a high-level overview.

is this code correct to get the height of an element, assign it to a variable, and use that variable to manipulate the height of a different element?
var pHeight = $(".pBox").css("height");

  $("#border").css("height", pHeight);

@KingHippo as long as the code works you're golden!

you could of course slim your code a bit and reduce it to just a singe if else statement, but it's not necessary!
shortness will come with practice

One cool thing about id attributes is that, like classes, you can style them using CSS.

Here's an example of how you can take your element with the id attribute of cat-photo-element and give it the background color of green. In your style element:

cat-photo-element {

background-color: green;
}
Note that inside your style element, you always reference classes by putting a . in front of their names. You always reference ids by putting a # in front of their names.

Try giving your form, which now has the id attribute of cat-photo-form, a green background.

Run tests (ctrl + enter)

One cool thing about id attributes is that, like classes, you can style them using CSS.

Here's an example of how you can take your element with the id attribute of cat-photo-element and give it the background color of green. In your style element:

cat-photo-element {

background-color: green;
}
Note that inside your style element, you always reference classes by putting a . in front of their names. You always reference ids by putting a # in front of their names.

Try giving your form, which now has the id attribute of cat-photo-form, a green background.

Run tests (ctrl + enter)

you need to apply the class to the div now
like how you applied red-text class to the p tag, you apply silver-background to your div
@larasolanki closing bracket oon first img tag
oh actually, you need to merge those 2 images together
you should only have one img tag, and it should be between the anchor (a) tags
that img tag should have the class, src, and alt all in one
