.nopadding {
  padding: 0 !important;
  margin: 0 !important;
}

I think this would be shorter HTML-wise if you just used a reset stylesheet.

A <p> element stands for a paragraph and you need 2 of them. Nested inside of them you should have the text "Kitty Ipsum text."
"Kitty Ipsum text." doesn't really mean anything, it's just a placeholder text.
@jaimedcarpiog
So it's asking for something similar to this
<p> some text </p>
<p> some more text in another paragraph </p>

You need 2 p elements with Kitty Ipsum text.
Make sure each of your p elements has a closing tag.
Your p element should contain the first few words of the provided additional kitty ipsum text.
The first p element should have the class red-text.
Do not add a class attribute to the second p element.
Between the style tags, give the p elements font-size of 16px. Browser and Text zoom should be at 100%

@F22rapt Like a fellow camper said previously, you use the text-align:justify; property, either on a class or by applying an inline style.
I'll give you the inline style example
<p class="text" style="text-align:justify">Hello I am an aspiring web developer. I've chosen this field to find a career in something interesting and get out of the usual nine to five. I hope to use my skillset to make a difference in the companies or communities I work for. </p>

@Danylrs That specifies a class from boostrap which creates a xs 4 spaced column. I think you can create 12 columns per row if I'm not mistaken. So if you were to create another col-xs-8, it would fill the remainder of the row.

To declare classes you type them on the styling section <style> classes </style>
For example:
<style>
.red-text{
color:red;
}
</style>
To apply declared classes to an element

@lorencuaresma24 You just need to add smaller-image class to your <img>. <img class="thick-green-border smaller-image" like that, with a space between classes
You have two class= attributes, you can only have one

@adrianmpt I'm not sure what lesson that is, but you can't apply column classes on "content" elements (like h2 and img) like that. You have to create a <div>, apply the class on that, and put what you want inside it.

@SweetLearner Create a second p element after the existing p element with the following kitty ipsum text: Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.

Inside the same <style> tag that contains your red-text class, create an entry for p elements and set the font-size to 16 pixels (16px).

Note
Due to browser implementation differences, you may need to be at 100% zoom to pass the tests on this challenge.

Also, please do not add a class attribute to your new p element.

that's all it says

Ken Haduch

Oct 23 2016 03:57
@thetechcreative - the .red-text is the class name, by itself, it does nothing. The elements in the braces are the CSS code to actually do the settings of the different elements - color: red; sets the characteristic that makes the class do something.

Now I have a question. I'm trying to do this: Target the same element with multiple jQuery Selectors. Using .addClass(), add only one class at a time to the same element, three different ways:

Add the animated class to all elements with type button.

Add the shake class to all the buttons with class .btn.

Add the btn-primary class to the button with id #target1.

Note
You should only be targeting one element and adding only one class at a time. Altogether, your three individual selectors will end up adding the three classes shake, animated, and btn-primary to #target1.

<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#target1").addClass(animated);
$("#target1").addClass(shake);
$("#target1").addClass(btn-primary);
});
</script>

I think Challenge http://freecodecamp.com/challenges/waypoint-target-the-parent-of-an-element-using-jquery has an issue. It says it wants the left well to have a red background using ".parent()", so i put this:

$("#left-well").parent().css("background-color", "red")
But it wouldn't work! The Lesson kept telling me:

"Your left-well element should have a red background."

Even though the background of the left well was red on the result screen!
I'm still trying to figure this out. But mostly I'm wondering if its not really a bug, I'm just screwing it up somehow.
Here's the code I have now:

<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#target1").css("color", "red");
$("#target1").prop("disabled", true);
$("#target4").remove();
$("#target2").appendTo("#right-well");
$("#target5").clone().appendTo("#left-well");
$("#left-well").parent().css("background-color", "red")

});
</script>

<div class="container-fluid">
<h3 class="text-primary text-center">jQuery Playground</h3>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-6">
<h4 id="#left-well">#left-well</h4>
<div class="well" id="left-well">

<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target2">#target2</button>

@thetechcreative Here are a few starters: Always separate your scripts and styling into external files you'll call through the link tag(unless you're doing freecodecamp challenges). Never use inline styles. Always make sure that the code you wrote will be readable to you if you left it for 5 months to just sit around and came back to it.

@RuinIsProbablyTaken , I appreciate your answering my q, though I don't understand a lot of the verbiage yet. I don't get this part: Always separate your scripts and styling into external files you'll call through the link tag(unless you're doing freecodecamp challenges). Never use inline styles. (what is a link tag?) - and I am doing freecodecamp challenges at the moment.

@Cbhansen Not if you can help it, never. Reason is readability and consistency. Styles are error prone if you go for inline styles because they can often conflict with one another.

@Cbhansen They're actually often used in template creation for CMS like blogger because you can only really have one file for the theme. It's still not something that's excusable.
Steve Giampa
@sg-birch
Oct 23 2016 04:28
@RuinIsProbablyTaken You can't use a separate CSS file?
slri
@slri
Oct 23 2016 04:29
@sg-birch No, all your styles go into the style tag and god help you from there on. The theme is an XML file and if you mess up you're pretty much looking at 30+ hours of banging your head against a desk.

I'm trying to reduce the pixels in my img element, and I'm not sure where to put it.
This is what I'm trying to put in:
.smaller-image {
width: 100px;
}

And the following is what I'm trying to put it into. I tried at the top under <style> and I tried below under <img src... etc. Neither worked. Any advice?

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

<style>

.red-text {
color: red;
}

h2 {
font-family: Lobster, Monospace;
}

p {
font-size: 16px;
font-family: Monospace;
}

</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<img src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back.">

<p class="red-text">Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>

@thetechcreative treat it like you treated red-text class.
@thetechcreative You need to put that style in the style tag and assign it to the element that it's supposed to affect.

In the img element?

Hi folks, I'm working on challenge 104. The instruction is: Using .addClass(), add only one class at a time to the same element, three different ways:
Add the animated class to all elements with type button.
Add the shake class to all the buttons with class .btn.
Add the btn-primary class to the button with id #target1.
