@hb237 <img class="smaller-image thick-greenborder"
the classes only need to be separated by a space
so you can put as many classes as you want, just make sure they're all inside of one class=" "

delete <img class="class1 class2">
you don't need that
so when using classes, they are applied to an html tag. so <img class="customColor" src="http://whatever" alt="some text">

try them on both elements. get a sense for what each one does and the different combinations. that way you know for the future
theres no right way to do the positioning anyway.

okay so I tried float: left and right on my centered image and the text does go the side! One issue though; when the text goes to the left of my image, the image goes to the far right instead of staying centered. Any idea as to what could be causing this?

Coy Sanders
@coymeetsworld
Oct 25 2016 01:40
yw @dylanbuchholtz
correct @NaqibShahan, you have to define a new class just like you created classes in the past
and you have to assign it to div just like you assigned other classes to other elements
like red-text to h2 and p tags, or smaller image to the img tag
NaqibShahan
@NaqibShahan
Oct 25 2016 01:43
i dont see the problem
<style>
<div>
.silver-background {

.red-text {
color: red;
}

h2 {
font-family: Lobster, Monospace;

border-width: 10px;
border-style: solid;
border-radius: 50%;
}

.smaller-image {
width: 100px;
}
</div>
</style>
Coy Sanders
@coymeetsworld
Oct 25 2016 01:43
you don't put div tags inside the style, style just has css
div tag goes with the rest of your HTML
<style>
/*only css code goes here */
</style>

Hey yall i am having trouble with one of the early activities
its says Between the style tags, give the p elements font-size of 16px. Browser and Text zoom should be at 100%.
and i pretty sure i did that

<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
font-size: 16px;
}
</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p class="red-text">Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>
<p>Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch</p>

Rachel Riley

Oct 25 2016 03:31
@CmD001 you need to add the class to the image tag. like this
<img class=“larger-image"
Or you can add the class after the source here is a different example.
<img src="https://bit.ly/fcc-running-cats" class="img-responsive" alt="Three kittens running towards the camera. ">

@TheRealGus : 1) add id silver-background to form element:

add id="cat-photo-form" in your opening <form> tag

2) style it in your style tags and make background-color silver

 same way you did :
.smaller-image {
    width: 100px;
  }

but now in style tags id’s start with # then the name instead of . then the name.

You can apply a class to an HTML element like this:

<h2 class="blue-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

Note that in your CSS style element, classes should start with a period. In your HTML elements' class declarations, classes shouldn't start with a period.

Inside your style element, change the h2 selector to .red-text and update the color's value from blue to red.

Give your h2 element the class attribute with a value of 'red-text'.

@Fariszahid : you have to add checked to your first radio button as well as your first checkbox button, i.e these two:
<label><input type="radio" name="indoor-outdoor"> Indoor</label>

<label><input type="checkbox" name="personality"> Loving</label>
@Assaonator : like this—> to nest all html in div with container-fluid class:
<div class="container-fluid">
 all other html elements
</div>

@Assaonator put the class container-fluid inside a div and closing div at the bottom of all the html.. the . (dot) in the name is only for the CSS part.. but with bootstrap, it comes in the link (all the CSS is stored at another website at that link)
