Hello guys, I am working on the section "Disable an Element Using jQuery" and feeling confused how to disable a particular button.
Here is the code:

<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#target1").css("color", "red");
$("button").prop("disabled", true);
});
</script>

<div class="container-fluid">
<h3 class="text-primary text-center">jQuery Playground</h3>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-6">
<h4>#left-well</h4>
<div class="well" id="left-well">
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target1">#target1</button>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target2">#target2</button>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target3">#target3</button>
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-xs-6">
<h4>#right-well</h4>
<div class="well" id="right-well">
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target4">#target4</button>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target5">#target5</button>

@jax11000: The semi-colon is just because of FCC’s parser… in actuality CSS is not strict on using the ; and in the absence of it your CSS will still run… Including ; is just good practice because it’s standard on mist/all style guides. But : instead of = to add attributes like class is improper syntax and will defintely not run.
You completed the challenge, nevertheless! :+1: :smile:

Style multiple elements with a css class
i dont know how to make the p element have the class red-text
__mifflin__
@cdrainxv
Nov 03 2016 02:58
@Wingman92: No. Declare your class inside your img element like this:
<img class="classname" src="link" alt="words words words">
and then style it in style tags using the class name as shown in the example :

Hey guys, don't know if I'm in the right room here, but I'd be grateful if one of you would be able to take a look at this rough skeleton of a page I have going on here. All I'm trying to do here at this point is to make the "about" div's background color extend to the increased margin of the "about" div (instead it just replaces this enlarged margin with white). I read that it may have something to do with the fact that I floated a couple elements, but I haven't been able to sort it out. Here's the link, if anyone has the time.

@Chandler0415: It means to add the text they provide to your p element. For example:
<p>Hello world</p>.
But for your case instead of Hello World, you would use Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.

these are the instructions:

You can use Bootstrap's col-xs-* classes on form elements, too! This way, our radio buttons will be evenly spread out across the page, regardless of how wide the screen resolution is.

Nest all of your radio buttons within a <div class="row"> element. Then nest each of them within a <div class="col-xs-6"> element.

Alright, how would you go about this?
Let's say its a submission form.
The way to get the data from it is that it must be linked to a different page on submit. Once you are already on the different page the action is completed.
However, you don't want to actually show the data page, you want to replace that page with a splash page instead.
LydaTech
@lydatech
Nov 03 2016 05:09
@cum-zero in the landing page you would put the code for the splash
@cum-zero im checking now but you may have to change your name/handle

@lydatech The thing is, I don't have access to change the code on the landing page (the link that completes the form submission). Would it be possible where I can just click a link and it would take me to two pages successively in the same tab?

I entered it the same exact way and still stuck
ahmad
@woat
Nov 03 2016 05:20
However, when you actually visit that page, there is nothing to look at.
So basically I want to be able to run a diagram like:
Submit Form Page -> Confirmation Link Page -> Landing Page
LydaTech
@lydatech
Nov 03 2016 05:21
@cum-zero do you have access to either the submitted form or the landing page?
ahmad
@woat
Nov 03 2016 05:21
I am in possession of both the Submission form and Landing page.
The confirmation link, I have no access to. But, there is no action required other than visiting the confirmation linkpage to complete the data set.
LydaTech
@lydatech
Nov 03 2016 05:22
so in the submited form your send your data to your splash page then in the splash page you forward to a 3rd page
you would forward the data to the spash page then rebundle and forward to the 3rd page

@KingHippo that’s cool, another way might be to sort the array, then compare each value with the next
@KingHippo so if i had [1,2,2,3] i could look at 1, it’s different to 2, look at 2, the next value is also 2, so remove then ext one
Don Price
@KingHippo
Nov 03 2016 07:38
@dayvidwhy so make like a temporay array to compare against the other array?

a more efficent thing would be to insert values into the array in order in the first place, but that’s not the point of the quesiton, just interesting
