@faithann2 Here is an example of giving an img element a class called thick-red-border:

<img class="thick-red-border" src="..." att="...">

As you see, you first create a class attribute inside the img element then give it the value of thick-red-border.
Remember: When you create a class in style you start it with a dot .! But when you use that class for elements you do not include that dot anymore!

Not every class needs to have corresponding CSS. Sometimes we create classes just for the purpose of selecting these elements more easily using jQuery.

Give each of your button elements the class target.

Apply the target class to each of your button elements.

@chubs20 - nesting means to put an element inside of another element. For example, if you want to nest a <p> element inside of a <div> element, you do this:

<div class="someClass">
    <p> This is a paragraph </p>
</div>

So you have an <input> element, and you want to nest it in a <form> element - just do the same thing using those elements.

You need 2 p elements with Kitty Ipsum text.
Make sure each of your p elements has a closing tag.
Your p element should contain the first few words of the provided additional kitty ipsum text.
The first p element should have the class red-text.
Do not add a class attribute to the second p element.
Between the style tags, give the p elements font-size of 16px. Browser and Text zoom should be at 100%. And the coding is:-

Create a class called thick-green-border that puts a 10-pixel-wide green border with a style of solid around an HTML element, and apply that class to your cat photo.
Remember that you can apply multiple classes to an element by separating each class with a space within its class attribute. For example:
<img class="class1 class2">

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<img class="smaller-image thick-green-border" src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. ">

<img class="thick-green-border" border-color="green"border- width="10px" border-style="solid">

<p class="red-text">Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>
<p class="red-text">Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.</p>

I wasn't sure if the border info was supposed to go with the original image class "smaller-image"
__mifflin__
@cdrainxv
Nov 08 2016 01:15

@Sombra76: Remember this ex.
<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2> // html
and this… to style it… in style tags… //css

h2 {
 color: red;
}

Notice how the html and css are kept seperate.

  • you should only have one img1 element:
    <img class="…" src="…" alt="…">
  • to add multiple classes: class="class1 class2" as stated.

@Sombra76:

  • html

    You already had an img element:
    <img src="smaller-image" alt="…">… just add another class to it (thick-green-border).

  • css

    use the the class you just added (thick-green-border) to give it the border styling in the style tags.

So you do both.

I have a question about bootstrap accordion as above codes showing. The functionality is that when I click Collapsible Group Item #1, I will append some element to .panel#collapseOne" element and then expand this panel with animation. My problem is that I can append elements and expand the panel, but the expanding animation disappears. Can someone help me solve this problem? Thank you very much!!

@mrksfon:

Replace the value of your a element's href attribute with a #, also known as a hash symbol, to turn it into a dead link.

href is an attribute and it’s value is "value here"… so together
href="value here"… currently your value is a link… so replace the link with # which will make it dead… so upon clicking it… it will not redirect you anywhere.

@ironash15:

This is a template for it:

$("selector").addClass("class you want to add");

The selector can be an element (button), a class (.btn), or even an id (#target1). Add the appropriate class per selector as given in the instructions.

I'm working on challenge #16 use a CSS class style to do this Inside your style element, change the h2 selector to .red-text and update the color's value from blue to red.

Give your h2 element the class attribute with a value of 'red-text'.

@ErAcosta9 @daz94 :

  • Anything you place b/t the opening and closing tags of an element will show up on the element:

<button>anything here will show up on the button</button>
So you want your icon and the text Like to show up on the button.

  • keep in mind that only classes go in the opening tag of an element. For ex.

jaredfraser
@jaredfraser
Nov 08 2016 05:35
The <link> tags will be separate from what you do in the h2 style element.
The link is basically bringing the font from an external source so you can use it in your code

Okay. Last thing as an example If you tried using h2 {
font-family: Lobster;
}
without "pulling" in the Lobster font into your code it would not work.

Shan

Nov 08 2016 05:41
i can import the Lobster but the problem that i have is that part Your h2 element should use the font Lobster.

<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
}

p {
font-size: 16px;
font-family: Monospace;
}
</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p class="red-text">Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>
<p class="red-text">Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.</p>
