Just started learning Bootstrap and now trying to figure out how to nest my Bootstrap buttons within their own div element with the class col-xs-4. I have this so far... <div class="row">
<button class="btn btn-block btn-primary col-xs-4">Like</button>
<button class="btn btn-block btn-info col-xs-4">Info</button>

<button class="btn btn-block btn-danger col-xs-4">Delete</button>

Hi, I need a little help here: Nest your text field in a form element. Add the action="/submit-cat-photo" attribute to this form element. I did this but something is wrong I guess: <input type="text" placeholder="cat photo URL"><form action="/submit-cat-photo"></form>

@blurosemd: You haven’t nested it properly:

<div class="col-xs-4">
 <button class="btn btn-block btn-primary">Like</button>
</div>

Here I have nested the Like button inside a dive wtih class col-xs-4.

You need to nest the rest of your buttons like this.

@shadowski1: Your input element should be inside your form element. Ex.

<div>
 <img>
</div>

In the ex. the img element is nested inside the div element.

btn, btn-block, btn-primary are classes for the button element in this case.

I'll have to type it for you:

Similarly, the 'animated shake' does not work either. I wonder whether it might have something to do with the fact that I am using a tablet and not a laptop?

The Closing script tag is a given.

Hello everyone. I am brand brand new to coding, and I'm going through this starter project. I've gotten to the point where they take away the examples, so I'm a little lost.
Here are my instructions

Remember, you can style your body element just like any other HTML element, and all your other elements will inherit your body element's styles.

First, create a h1 element with the text Hello World

Then, let's give all elements on your page the color of green by adding color: green; to your body element's style declaration.

Finally, give your body element the font-family of Monospace by adding font-family: Monospace; to your body element's style declaration.

this is what i have so far

<style>
body {
background-color: black;
}

h1{
font-family: Monospace;
}

.green-text {
color: green;
}

</style>

<h1 class="green-text">Hello World</h1>

Wish I could help, i am not there yet. I am stuck myself :(
I am on problem 19 i think. My instructions is as follows.

Font size is controlled by the font-size CSS property, like this:

h1 {
  font-size: 30px;
}

Create a second p element after the existing p element with the following kitty ipsum text: Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.

Inside the same <style> tag that contains your red-text class, create an entry for p elements and set the font-size to 16 pixels (16px).

Note
Due to browser implementation differences, you may need to be at 100% zoom to pass the tests on this challenge.

Also, please do not add a class attribute to your new p element.

I was able to do all except the last one
where it says that I need to zoom text 100%
NO idea how to do that.

Sarbjit Singh
@ssarbjit1987
Nov 14 2016 01:49

@Tara48 Font size is controlled by the font-size CSS property, like this:

h1 {
  font-size: 30px;
}

@Tara48 My code

<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
font-size:16px;
}

</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p class="red-text">Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>

@ssarbjit1987 the problem is here

.red-text {
color: red;
font-size:16px;
}

you need to set the font-size for only p elements, and by including it in the rule for .red-text, you're also chaning h2 elements

@ssarbjit1987 move this out into a new rule for p elements
font-size:16px;

Web developers traditionally use lorem ipsum text as placeholder text. The 'lorem ipsum' text is randomly scraped from a famous passage by Cicero of Ancient Rome.

Lorem ipsum text has been used as placeholder text by typesetters since the 16th century, and this tradition continues on the web.

Well, 5 centuries is long enough. Since we're building a CatPhotoApp, let's use something called kitty ipsum text.

Replace the text inside your p element with the first few words of this kitty ipsum text: Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.I dont know what they want.

Sometimes you want to add a elements to your website before you know where they will link.

This is also handy when you're changing the behavior of a link using jQuery, which we'll learn about later.

Replace the value of your a element's href attribute with a #, also known as a hash symbol, to turn it into a dead link.

Run tests (ctrl + enter)

Nov 14 2016 05:57
@usaynight http://www.freecatphotoapp.com is called a link. Links are road names to different places online. If you point your href attribute to # it means that you don't want the user who clicks on it to go anywhere so that should be in place of the link you currently have there.
@JOATI Please just learn first and then try to help. That is not how you do it.

@Manish-Giri I needed a plugin to just simply make a scroll animation(so the animation happens while you're scrolling, not triggering an animation when you get to a certain point), but the one that I could find adds unnecessary junk and it doesn't even work any more lol

@Oliver2Jason In your CSS, you need to add a dot in front of your class name so the browser knows you're referring to a class there. Then, you have to assign it with the class variable to your img element.

@kevindalgleish you have an array.. and you want to use it as a queue.. so you want to add something to the back of the line while whoever is at the front of the line will step up to the counter and hence leave the line
that function is expected to do just that.. add the item to the bakc and remove the item from the front.. then 'return' that item

@iptohip777: class is a attribute of an html element… using the value of the class (class="value").. it can then be used to style your mulitple elements at once.
I can’t totally agree with this: :point_up: November 14, 2016 12:32 AM as name is also an attribute… but you are on the right track.

Also w3schools taught medocument.getElementById what is all this?
chun_kingz
@chunkingz
Nov 14 2016 08:13
hey fellas
Manish Giri
@Manish-Giri
Nov 14 2016 08:13
@Joshua-A-Smith console.log() is just a way to print something to the console, it's useful coz it doesn't appear on the website itself, but rather on the "console", so is helpful for debugging purposes. For example - If you have a variable showing up with incorrect value inside a for loop, you can put a console.log at every iteration to find out exactly where things are going wrong.
Alex
@Joshua-A-Smith
Nov 14 2016 08:14
@Manish-Giri So I dont need `document.getElementById?
Manish Giri
@Manish-Giri
Nov 14 2016 08:15

@Joshua-A-Smith document.getElementById() is a function to get a reference to a variable in your HTML, so for ex, if you have

<p id="para">Hello World</p>

and you do

var p = document.getElementById("para")
you now have a reference to the p element, then you can use this reference for a whole bunch of things
Alex
@Joshua-A-Smith
Nov 14 2016 08:16
@Manish-Giri Sweet so every time I use javascript I mainly use console.log?
