Nov 18 2016 00:08
@TobyChow - I haven't tried to track this down, but I wonder if it is some type of initialization that is missing? Hard to look at the project in github... but I found that if I scrolled through the projects, the next one displayed the overlay in the proper place, and then coming back to the Twitch viewer, which is the initial one, it displayed in the proper location? I don't know if you've noticed that or if it gives you something to go on, but that's what it looks like to me in FireFox 50.

@SouthernGameDesign - if I remember that exercise, you are supposed to have classes named pink-text and blue-text? In your <h1> you should have a class= attribute with those as the values.

Ken Haduch
@khaduch
Nov 18 2016 01:11

@SouthernGameDesign - if it is "Override Styles in Subsequent CSS", when you should have no style=, no id= and instead of color= (which is not a valid attribute) you would have class=, because you want to associate those two classes with your HTML element.

If it is "Override Class Declarations with Inline Styles " then you just don't have the class= setting, everything else is probably correct?

You can set an element's background color with the background-color property.

For example, if you wanted an element's background color to be green, you'd put this within your style element:

.green-background {
background-color: green;
}
Create a class called silver-background with the background-color of silver. Assign this class to your div element.

how do i do this? I have tried so many different things and I cannot seem to figure it out

@MattKim22 Remove the style attribute from your h2 element.
Create a style element.
Your h2 element should be blue.
Ensure that your stylesheet h2 declaration is valid with a semicolon and closing brace.
Make sure all your style elements are valid and have a closing tag.

I have a question about this script I'm working with, I just want some clarification on the logic behind it-

<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#target1").css("color", "red");
$("#target1").prop("disabled", true);

});
</script>
so when I targeted the color, both "color" and "red" needed to be in ""; but when I did a .prop, only the first value needed "", and not the 'true' value. Why is that? And it that a .css/.prop rule, will that always be the case? Why are they different. Thanks in advance, sorry for the long-winded post!

@awb715 - I think that I see that you have added a "row" div, but it is empty? Then the column is after that - it should be within the row? I don't know how the do that in jquery, or I forget...

@awb715 - I made this change, and it looks better:

 var theRow = $("<div>").addClass("row").appendTo(".adder")

    $("<div>").addClass("col-xs-12 styler").html("hi").appendTo(theRow);

I am not sure if it is 100% the correct way to do that? But I think it is generating the proper HTML output?

@Ankitnau25 - your use of collection[id] is correct, as id is a variable, and bracket notation must be used. You cannot use collection.id. That is one thing that you need to change. That also applies to the prop variable - a variable used to access an object requires bracket notation always

In other words, if you are using Windows, for example, you can use the "Snipping Tool" to take a screenshot, use the button to get it into the paste buffer, then come here and paste it in the chat box.

@hermin303 - you are supposed to be using that table to compare the number of strokes (using the variable strokes) to the "par" value for the hole, which is in the variable par. So the first case, with only one stroke, is independent of the par, you would check if (strokes === 1) and return the hole in one. For the others, it would be else if (strokes <= par - 2), etc.

@KhaBose - okay - the testing code would generally be looking for the exact thing that the instructions told you to put into the code, that's important to follow that! Most of the tests are text-based, spelling is important, etc. Good luck!

@thanhtruc12 did you define the class in the style tags?

You have to create a class in your CSS
Ken Haduch
@khaduch
Nov 18 2016 05:16
@thanhtruc12 - have you created the class .smaller-image in your <style> section?

You have to create the class in your style section before applying the class to the element.
Ken Haduch
@khaduch
Nov 18 2016 05:18
@thanhtruc12 you cannot have multiple class= attributes - any time you need to add multiple classes, you have to use class="class1 class2 class3" - space separated values within one set of quotation marks.
howaboutthisname
@howaboutthisname
Nov 18 2016 05:21
@thanhtruc12 You don't need to write class again, just separate the two classes by a space <class="thick-green-border smaller-image"

it says that Between the style tags, give the p elements font-size of 16px. Browser and Text zoom should be at 100%. so whats wrong with this <style>

@Ayushsamiii you forgot about the first paragraph, though you could also assign the size to all paragraphs on the css style tags
using p {font-size: 16px;}
Chirag Baadkar
@cbaadkar
Nov 18 2016 05:24
@Ayushsamiii create the font-size class up in style .p {font-size: 16px;} then apply them to your p elements

Instead of creating the class and assigning it to every p element he can set all p elements to have that font size

Anyone know how to do this? Your div element should have the class container-fluid.
Make sure your div element has a closing tag.
Make sure you have nested all HTML elements in .container-fluid.
