@airadji ignore htis part "Browser and Text zoom should be at 100%.” it is about your web browser rather than anything you need to code.

Try removing these two lines and run it…
.red-text {
color: red;

Or if that doesn’t work, put them back thusly:
.red-text {
color: red;
}

<— note the added extra curlty brace to seperate the style of red text from the size definition

@emaraosman That may be a bit of a “how long is a piece of string” question. The answer could be either or both or neither is sufficient to become job ready depending on the job and skill set required.
EugeniaLev

Nov 21 2016 01:31
@khaduch it was <h2 style="color: red">CatPhotoApp</h2> and I need to do this : Remove the style attribute from your h2 element.
Create a style element.
Your h2 element should be blue.
Ensure that your stylesheet h2 declaration is valid with a semicolon and closing brace.
Make sure all your style elements are valid and have a closing tag.

Jacob
@jaqobk
Nov 21 2016 01:49
Bootstrap
Den Temple
@dentemple
Nov 21 2016 01:49
@artoodeeto Bootstrap is quick to use, and you can get a nice looking website using just the pure boilerplate. For the long term, it... well, just kind of depends on what you need.
aRtoo
@artoodeeto
Nov 21 2016 01:52
@dentemple what are the difference?
@dentemple for media queries you can just specify the height and the width right?? becasue you can " @media queries height bla bla bla width bla bla bla
Den Temple
@dentemple
Nov 21 2016 01:54
@artoodeeto In bootstrap it's easy enough just dropping in the bootstrap classes as you're writing up the HTML. "container-fluid", "row", and "col-SIZE-NUM" is most of your functionality right there
I feel that Bootstrap's boilerplate buttons could use some more variety, but they're easy to drop in as well when, again, you're just typing up the HTML.
@artoodeeto Media queries require the extra step of actually typing something into your css file.
Den Temple
@dentemple
Nov 21 2016 01:59
But, then again, it really depends on what your project requires. I always prefer Bootstrap when I need something quick, and without the need to do much custom stuff.
aRtoo
@artoodeeto
Nov 21 2016 02:01

@js934 generally ID is associated with whatever element you are trying to modify.. in this case it was the form element so inside <form .. worked, but it could be a <p> element or an <h1> element

So here is my code, and my problem is that I am supposed to "Nest your text input element within a form element." ... so really the only issue is the last two lines of my code.

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
}

h2 {
font-family: Lobster, Monospace;

font-family: Monospace;
}

.thick-green-border {
border-color: green;
border-width: 10px;
border-style: solid;
border-radius: 50%;
}

.smaller-image {
width: 100px;
}
</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p>Click here for <a href="#">cat photos</a>.</p>

<a href="#"><img class="smaller-image thick-green-border" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. " src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat"></a>

<p>Things cats love:</p>

<ul>
<li>cat nip</li>
<li>laser pointers</li>
<li>lasagna</li>
</ul>

<p>Top 3 things cats hate:</p>

<ol>
<li>flea treatment</li>
<li>thunder</li>
<li>other cats</li>
</ol>

<form action="/submit-cat-photo" <input type="text" placeholder="cat photo URL"></form>

These are the instructions:

You can build web forms that actually submit data to a server using nothing more than pure HTML. You can do this by specifying an action on your form element.

For example:

<form action="/url-where-you-want-to-submit-form-data"></form>

Nest your text field in a form element. Add the action="/submit-cat-photo" attribute to this form element.

@johnnytuxedo "Put the Like, Info and Delete buttons side-by-side by nesting all three of them within one <div class="row"> element, then each of them within a <div class="col-xs-4"> element.

The row class is applied to a div, and the buttons themselves can be nested within it."

Hi everyone

I need a help please. Below code worked. I tried to create an array of hours with same code below except I deleted the resize part (Array.Resize(ref hours, hours.Length + 1);), and changed the size of the array to double[] hours = new double1;
but now I am not getting the results of hours.sum()

public partial class Default : System.Web.UI.Page
{
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (!Page.IsPostBack)
{
double[] hours = new double[0];
ViewState.Add("Hours", hours);
}
}

protected void addButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
    double[] hours = (double[])ViewState["Hours"];

    Array.Resize(ref hours, hours.Length + 1);

    int newstItem = hours.GetUpperBound(0);

    hours[newstItem] = double.Parse(hoursTextBox.Text);
    ViewState["Hours"] = hours;

    resultLabel.Text = string.Format("Total hours: {0}", hours.Sum());

@kamalkkanti33 they give an example of the syntax for creating a paragraph element " "You can create a p element like this:

<p>I'm a p tag!</p>"

is there any Regularr expression for phone number?
Darren
@DarrenfJ
Nov 21 2016 07:29
@kamalkkanti33 so consider a paragraph as anything between <p> and a closing</p> tags..
@ari-88 hi!
@jvaleja i had to stack exchange for that one and then play around with various solutions using the regex sandbox.. http://regexr.com/

<p>Click here for <a href="#"><img src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat"alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. ">cat photos</a></p>
Nest the existing img element within an a element.?

hello what am i not doing/
?
Darren
@DarrenfJ
Nov 21 2016 07:31
@kamalkkanti33 so you need to add Hello Paragraph between a <p> and a closing </p>
@MathieuJW what exercise is that from?
mathieu widmont
@MathieuJW
Nov 21 2016 07:33

@DarrenfJTurn an Image into a Link
You can make elements into links by nesting them within an a element.

Nest your image within an a element. Here's an example:

<a href="#"><img src="https://bit.ly/fcc-running-cats" alt="Three kittens running towards the camera. "></a>

Remember to use # as your a element's href property in order to turn it into a dead link.

Place the existing image element within an anchor element.

Once you've done this, hover over your image with your cursor. Your cursor's normal pointer should become the link clicking pointer. The photo is now a link.

Darren
@DarrenfJ
Nov 21 2016 07:36
@MathieuJW what happened to your classes in there?
doesn;t image have class="smaller-image thick-green-border" or something like that?

how to make all h2 elements to blue
kamalkkanti
@kamalkkanti33
Nov 21 2016 07:38
@DarrenfJ Sir i add like this. <p> Hello Photograph</p> but still output is error.
arpita
@ari-88
Nov 21 2016 07:39

<style>
h2{color: blue;
}
</style>

<p>Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>
is this correct??

Darren
@DarrenfJ
Nov 21 2016 07:39
@kamalkkanti33 it's Hello Paragraph. not Photograph
@ari-88 that would make h2 element blue yes.. but it appears you have no h2 elements in you html section...
only <p> element
arpita
@ari-88
Nov 21 2016 07:41
@DarrenfJ what to write in code to make all elemnts to blue
Darren
@DarrenfJ
Nov 21 2016 07:41
@ari-88 what's the exercise asking you to do?
arpita
@ari-88
Nov 21 2016 07:42
@DarrenfJ Delete your h2 element's style attribute and instead create a CSS style element. Add the necessary CSS to turn all h2 elements blue.
Darren
@DarrenfJ
Nov 21 2016 07:42
@ari-88 what exercise is it?
arpita
@ari-88
Nov 21 2016 07:42
@DarrenfJ where to find exercise
Darren
@DarrenfJ
Nov 21 2016 07:42
@ari-88 it seems yo deleted all of the h2 element.. you only had to deletel the style part
@ari-88 just the name at the top of the page
arpita
@ari-88
Nov 21 2016 07:43
Use CSS Selectors to Style Elements
@DarrenfJ ??
Darren
@DarrenfJ
Nov 21 2016 07:44
@ari-88 so you have:

<h2 style="color: red">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p>Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>
you have the delete the style="color: red"
then create a style section (fr your CSS).. they give an example of syntax like this:
<style>
  h2 {color: red;}
</style>
@ari-88 so in what you posted you have everything you need but you deleted all of the <h2> when you only had to delete the style="color:read" part

@cbot59 i can't figure out why your thumbnail div is going that wide, sorry :(
here is a link to my codepen https://codepen.io/randsie/pen/vyBKLL
@cbot59 ok from what i can figure out the margin and padding of the thumbnail div only leaves a small amount of space from the container it is inside. if you adjust the margin of your class .thumbnail you can reduce the width of it
Neil
@randsie
Nov 21 2016 10:05
if you add this piece of css to the css, it should look more like what i think you want
.thumbnail {
margin-left:25%;
margin-right:25%
}
you should also add a semi colon after the margin-right value, in case you want to add more changes

Help Me!! with this: reate a class called thick-green-border that puts a 10-pixel-wide green border with a style of solid around an HTML element, and apply that class to your cat photo.

Remember that you can apply multiple classes to an element by separating each class with a space within its class attribute. For example:

<img class="class1 class2">

Yes, you could give each div a unique class name, and style each of the sections differently.

Nest your text field in a form element. Add the action="/submit-cat-photo" attribute to this form element.

A bit confused. After doing the exercises, you know the ones for beginners, I did the exercise on 'bootstrap labeling ', but when I hit submit, it took me back to the page where you sign up for GitHub?

Has anyone else experienced this and know what I am supposed to do? - Please and thank you
