What am I missing here? I'm trying to get the buttons to line up under a photo. <div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-4">
<button class="btn btn-block btn-primary">Like</button>

<button class="btn btn-block btn-danger">Delete</button>

This is the one that isn't correct. Each of your Bootstrap buttons should be nested within its own div element with the class col-xs-4.

@ParadiseArtist
Nov 22 2016 00:13
Which project are you on?
israelone
@israelone
Nov 22 2016 00:14
@trevn525 exactly you need to nest each button with the class col-xs-4. One by one not all the three together
nenikol
@nenikol
Nov 22 2016 00:14
@ParadiseArtist do I need to mention p between the <style> tags before putting font-size: 16px;
Trevin
@trevn525
Nov 22 2016 00:14
Oh okay, Thank you!
Rachel Riley
@ParadiseArtist
Nov 22 2016 00:14
@nenikol yup
it looks like your .red-text class needs a closing bracket
then you would create a section for p
p {
font-size:16px;
}

I'm stuck on labeling bootstrap buttons
I did it exactly the same as the div label
<div class="container-fluid">
<h3 class="text-primary text-center">jQuery Playground</h3>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-6">
<h4>#left-well</h4>
<div class="well" id="left-well">

<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target1"></button>

<h4>#target2</h4>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target2"></button>

<h4>#target3</h4>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target3"></button>

</div>
</div>
<div class="col-xs-6">
<h4>#right-well</h4><div class="well" id="right-well"><h4>#target4</h4><button class="btn btn-default target" id="target4"></button>
<h4>#target5</h4><button class="btn btn-default target" id="target5"></button>

@wong3030: Multiple classes for the same element are just seperated by a space.For example:
<p class="red-text lavender-text green-text yellow-text">Hello</p>
Also it’s always just class as it is the name of an attribute.

@xxCoder2019xx Add a div element in the following way (<div></div>)
__mifflin__
@cdrainxv
Nov 22 2016 01:38

@JasonBecotte: Currently you are only changing the font-size of the p with class red-text. However, you want to change the font-size of both p elements. For example if I want to make all h2 elements pink:
<h2 class="hello">hello</h2>
<h2>bye</h2>
in my style tags:

<style>
 h2 {
 color: pink;
}
</style>

Now both of my h2 elements texts are pink, because I changed the h2 in my style tag… not the class hello which would have only made my first h2 element with class hello:
<h2 class="hello">hello</h2> pink.

guys i need your help. instruction. Initialize the three variables a, b, and c with 5, 10, and "I am a" respectively so that they will not be undefined.

// Initialize these three variables
var a + 5
var b + 10
var c + "i am a"

// Do not change code below this line

what am i doing wrong ?

Den Temple
@dentemple
Nov 22 2016 02:38
@Brassoe need to place a semicolon ; at the end of each line
Manish Giri
@Manish-Giri
Nov 22 2016 02:38
@Brassoe the values are to be assigned with = not +
Den Temple
@dentemple
Nov 22 2016 02:39
That too :)
Christian Brassøe
@Brassoe
Nov 22 2016 02:40
@Manish-Giri now my C value is the only value wrong
// Initialize these three variables
var a = 6;
var b = 15;
var c = "I am a string";

// Do not change code below this line
Manish Giri
@Manish-Giri
Nov 22 2016 02:41
why did you change the values?
@Brassoe wasn't it 5 and 10
Christian Brassøe
@Brassoe
Nov 22 2016 02:41
for some odd reason, it told me this
sec
a should be defined and have a value of 6
b should be defined and have a value of 15
c should not contain undefined and should have a value of "I am a String!"
Do not change code below the line
and i was like... Didn't you just ask me to make it 5 and 10 :P
Den Temple
@dentemple
Nov 22 2016 02:42
@Brassoe ah, you forgot the exclamation point at the end of the string

instead of typing it in
Christian Brassøe
@Brassoe
Nov 22 2016 02:43
aaaaaah
and now it says .... "Do not change code below the line" as the only thing left...
wtf.

var c = "I am a String!";

// Do not change code below this line

@JasonXiao2007 The jQuery code goes between the ready(function) brackets, not after it. You'll also need to double-check the way the line needs to be constructed. There should be an example on the page's sidebar, which you should be able to match.

@Brassoe fahrenheit=(celsius*(9/5))+32; That is the correct formula bro.. you messed with what was being passed into the function, that was the first mistake, you then did not multiple the passed variable by 9/5 and add 32 for the correct result

well when they say "ConvertToF(celcius)" what they mean is that the number passed into the function can now be refered to as the variable celcius... so now celcius = 30 because that was the number that was passed into the function you see?

sure, so if we did convertToF(10); then ConvertToF(celsius) {} celsius = 10 in that function

Christian Brassøe

where my ELSE statement is not working
Travistico
@Travistico
Nov 22 2016 04:11
@Brassoe Well yes that is the desired result. If they said the equation was to multiply celsius by 2 your equation would be Fahrenheit = celsius*2; so all you are doing at that point is making the equation with that variable that was passed into the function
Mohamed Wasim
@MohamedWasim
Nov 22 2016 04:11
If the input is not an integer the last statement should be printed as
"Please enter a number between 0-10 and not words "
Travistico
@Travistico
Nov 22 2016 04:12
so to satisfy what they are asking the correct equation is Fahrenheit = celsius(9/5)+32 or Fahrenheit = 30(9/5)+32 same thing because celsius =30

Nov 22 2016 04:15

@Travistico Oh okay. Well i think i get this part now. I am a little bit looking at it like html and css. Cuz when you place a function called, lets say "convertToF" you have to declare what that function does. You do that by writing a code
function convertToF(celsius) {
var fahrenheit;
// Only change code below this line
fahrenheit=(celsius*(9/5))+32;

// Only change code above this line
return fahrenheit;
}

to enable whenever you place a number in the function, it converts celcius into fahrenheit.... I Don't know if you get that.. It's really thoughts in my head :P haha :D i get it!

Clone an Element Using jQuery: Clone your target5 element and append it to your left-well.
Here's my code: $("#target5").clone.appendTo("left-well");
Why won't target5 copy and switch sides

<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#target1").css("color", "red");
$("#target1").prop("disabled", true);
$("#target4").remove();
$("#target2").appendTo("#right-well");
$("#target5").clone.appendTo("left-well");
});
</script>

<div class="container-fluid">
<h3 class="text-primary text-center">jQuery Playground</h3>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-6">

<div class="well" id="left-well">

<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target2">#target2</button>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target3">#target3</button>
</div>

<div class="col-xs-6">
<h4>#right-well</h4>
<div class="well" id="right-well">

@nenikol:

Replace the value of your a element's href attribute with a #, also known as a hash symbol, to turn it into a dead link.

href is an attribute and it’s value is for example: "value here"… so together
href="value here"… currently your value is a link… so replace the link with # which will make it dead… so upon clicking it… it will not redirect you anywhere.

Your a element should be a dead link with a href attribute set to "#".
how can I make it?
David Young

@cnguyen1006 so normally <a> elements have an href tag like <a href=“google.com”> right?

yes
I agree
David Young
@dayvidwhy

If we didn’t want to navigate anywhere we can use a #

Hey friends, I have a question. I have a div with two columns, column one (left) with an <ul> of 7 items, and a second column (right) for pictures which I only have 2 of. Is there a way, perhaps with jquery, to get my pictures to align to a certain <li> in my first column (say my 3rd and 6th bullet) instead of the pictures just stacking down from the top of my second column?
David Young
@dayvidwhy
Nov 22 2016 05:46
@fustercluckin not easily really
@fustercluckin i’d think a bit more about it like a grid and not use a list if they’re unevenly spaced
or in each <li> put the ‘list name’ and image
like put 2 columns in each <li>

I am not able get the math. On freecodecamp it says: If you do the math, the two digits for one color equal 16 times 16, which gives us 256 total values. So RGB, which starts counting from zero, has the exact same number of possible values as hex code.
I am not getting why they took 16 times 16?

@donswavey ok2 then what is my attribute in the container-fluid class in the <style.
Darren
@DarrenfJ
Nov 22 2016 07:20
@sumitvgithub zero is 0000, 1 is 0001, 2 is 0010, 3 is 0011, etc,, 15 is 1111 (there is no 16 since there is a zro to start)

can someone help me find whats wrong with this? its asking me..Between the style tags, give the p elements font-size of 16px. Browser and Text zoom should be at 100%.

<style>

p{font-size:16px;}

the first position is it's value times 16^0, and the second position is its value times 16^1. remember f = 15
Sumit Verma
@sumitvgithub
Nov 22 2016 07:21
@DarrenfJ ok 4 combinations of 0's and 1's gives 16 possible combinations. But then why 16*16 ?

so ff = 1516 + 151
