Hi. I'm right near the beginning here and I really can't figure out why this isn't passing the tests.
Just trying to create an unordered list element with three list items. Two tests pass--ul has closing tag and li have closing tag, but two tests fail--create a ul element and should have 3 li elements. What could be wrong with this simple code? Thanks!

Delete your h2 element's style attribute and instead create a CSS style element. Add the necessary CSS to turn all h2 elements blue.

h2 {color: red;}

@Manish-Giri ok so how do you suppose i fix that?
Manish Giri
@Manish-Giri
Nov 28 2016 02:37
@SashaGator22 start by reseting your code, when you do that, you'l' notice how you have this line of code under the closing </style> tag
<h2>CatPhotoApp</h2>
everything that comes after the closing </style> is HTML code, and the things you write between the style tags is the way you style the HTML code you have
but you don't move HTML to inside the style tags
@SashaGator22 instead, you'll just need to add your css between the style tags, that target an element and sets the css, this is the general syntax
selector {
property: value;
}

h2 {color: blue;}

you've already got this right, just need to put it in the right way

  1. to specify a class on an element, you need the classkeyword, followed by = and the classname
  2. <img ".smaller-image" - is wrong, you need the :point_up: syntax and remove the .

The margins are correct. The only thing you would have to change is the font-size of your h1 and h2 elements as the screen gets smaller — you could use media queries for that.
Also maybe have the images stack up… (take up a full column when displayed on a small screen (like a phone) instead of 3 in a row, 1 picture per row).

Hey everyone, just googled this but still a tad bit confused. When should I use id or class?
Em Ji Madhu
@emjimadhu
Nov 28 2016 04:39
@Wolfaction You see, classes and ids are same. They can used with either one. But for coding features, try to use ids only for reffering it to js functions. do not use ids for designing purpose. for designing use classes
id is unique selector whereas class is general selector.!

@Wolfaction first of all, the code you written was is invalid. you cannot declare styles like that. here is a sample how to do "inline styles" <h1 style="background-color=blue;">Blue text </h1> if you are going do more design on single element or class, its better to use style on head. otherwise "inline styles" is good.

@Radascript here’s an explanation - for some functions, you need to pass your arguments as just a list, or group, of numbers. An array won’t quite work in that case. So the spread operator just “spreads out” the array elements into a sort of a list which the function can then work with.
in the jsbin link, you see that using .max() on an array gives you a NaN. Because you’d call Math.max in this way normally - Math.max(10,20,1,8);
Rada
@Radascript
Nov 28 2016 05:38

@Manish-Giri: I’m not 100% sure on bind. I’ve been told different things — I wouldn’t want to mislead you. My understanding is that you use bindto set what object you want to use as this in a function.

This is the example I always refer to:
