You should use the || operator once
You should only have one if statement
testLogicalOr(0) should return "Outside"
testLogicalOr(9) should return "Outside"
testLogicalOr(10) should return "Inside"
testLogicalOr(15) should return "Inside"
testLogicalOr(19) should return "Inside"

Evan Kalvis
@evan17gr
Dec 01 2016 00:29
true dat
Manish Giri
@Manish-Giri
Dec 01 2016 00:30

so, the only thing that remains, is to fix the numbers inside the if

  if (val>0   || val<0) {
    return "Outside";
  }

so that for numbers that are less than 10 and greater than 20, you get "outside"

9 - outside, 10 -inside, 20- inside, 21 - outside
Evan Kalvis

how?

Manish Giri
@Manish-Giri
Dec 01 2016 00:34

now, you can merge those two to form a condition that says if val is less than 10 or if val is greater than 20, you just combine them with ||, it's called the logical OR

if(val < 10 || val > 20) {
//read this like - If val is less than 10, OR, val is greater than 20
..
}

Remove the style attribute from your h2 element.
Create a style element.
Your h2 element should be blue.
Ensure that your stylesheet h2 declaration is valid with a semicolon and closing brace.
Make sure all your style elements are valid and have a closing tag.

Create a class called silver-background with the background-color of silver. Assign this class to your div

@evan17gr Your h2 element should be red.

Do not use inline style declarations like style="color: red" in your h2 element.

this are the challenges
You need 2 p elements with Kitty Ipsum text.
Make sure each of your p elements has a closing tag.
Your p element should contain the first few words of the provided additional kitty ipsum text.
The first p element should have the class red-text.
Do not add a class attribute to the second p element.
Between the style tags, give the p elements font-size of 16px. Browser and Text zoom should be at 100%.
they all have checks besides the p element should contain the first few words of the provided additional kitty ipsum text.

Emphasize the text in your target4 button by adding HTML tags.

<script>
  $(document).ready(function() {
    $("#target1").css("color", "red");
    $("#target4").html("#target4");
  });
</script>

<!-- Only change code above this line. -->

Hey guys, I just started a few days ago and just want to get some clarification. When should I use CSS, HTML, or JS? Google says roughly that HTML=structure, CSS=Style, and JS=Interaction. But if thats the case, why does HTML have buttons, forms, input types, links etc. And why can JS change appearance using .css?

Manish Giri

Dec 01 2016 01:43
@Wolfaction nope, a button is just that - a button. It's task is to give a "structure" for users to click on. What happens when the button is clicked, that is "interaction", therefore JS.

Sometimes your HTML elements will receive multiple styles that conflict with one another.

For example, your h1 element can't be both green and pink at the same time.

Let's see what happens when we create a class that makes text pink, then apply it to an element. Will our class override the body element's color: green; CSS property?

Create a CSS class called pink-text that gives an element the color pink.

Give your h1 element the class of pink-text

Interesting find here!
A client would like a calculator on a website. Not your average calculator, but one that can calculate how much you would save if you choose to drink bottled water from one company over another.

Hello guys if it's not too much trouble could someone please explain what this is telling me to do? I followed the instructions but maybe I misinterpreted them.
Your p element should contain the first few words of the provided additional kitty ipsum text.

<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
}
p{font-size: 16px;
}
</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p class="red-text">Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>

@Manish-Giri so I just did the color thing, and it changed my text color and I didn't have to do anything about applying it to h1. So now my question is, when do I need to include any qualifiers inside my <h1> ?
__mifflin__
@cdrainxv
Dec 01 2016 03:32
@Jeabayer: color is for text and background-color is for the background of an element. h1 is a child of the body element, thus h1inherits anything you pass to body — unless you give h1 its own css rules.

@Jeabayer when you want to style h1, you include qualifiers, but that's inline styling

<h1 style="color: green;">heading 1</h1>

the usual way is just to select h1 and give it a style, in between style tags you create at the top, like in my pen above
