Remove class1 class2 and , from here: <img class ="class 1 smaller-image , class 2 thick-green -border"
Also it's thick-green-border… you shouldn't have an extra space in there.

Looking for stylistic opinion here. If I have a page where I know all texted will be center-aligned, should I apply some rule at the top that says all text will be centered, or do I specifically insert center-alignment instructions into each <div> that contains text I want to center. I feel the "correct" answer is to individually insert commands where they are needed. Opinions?

Now let's change the color of some of our text.

We can do this by changing the style of your h2 element.

The style that is responsible for the color of an element's text is the "color" style.

Here's how you would set your h2 element's text color to blue:

<h2 style="color: blue">CatPhotoApp</h2>

Change your h2 element's style so that its text color is red.

Hi, I'm having a problem understanding how to access object data in javascript can someone explain why checkProp accesses data from myObj
var myObj = {
gift: "pony",
pet: "kitten",
bed: "sleigh"
};

function checkObj(checkProp) {

@djocson1 checkProp is just a placeholder, which gets replaced by whatever argument is used when your function gets called. Like checkObj("gift");

aimee-katherine

Jan 09 2017 02:01
Between the style tags, give the p elements font-size of 16px. Browser and Text zoom should be at 100%.
Manish Giri
@Manish-Giri
Jan 09 2017 02:01
checkProp is replaced with gift, and your code checks for myObj["gift"] - and returns it's value pony
@djocson1

@aimee-katherine this is wrong -

.font-size {
font-size:16px;
}

you need to target the p elements to set the font size, so use p instead of .font-size

Hi, does anyone know where would I get font links from if I wanted a font other than Lobster (in this challenge, the link was given to us): First, you'll need to make a call to Google to grab the Lobster font and load it into your HTML.

Copy the following code snippet and paste it into the top of your code editor:

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

(About CSS "text-indent") Does anyone know how to indent all the texts in <p></p> before <br>? For example, this text: <p> Hi my name is XXX. I am from Japan. <br> My hobby is reading.<br></p>If I use CSS "text-indent", only the first sentence in <p></p> gets indented. I want to indent both first and second sentence (meaning every single sentence after <br>). I guess I can do it like this; <p> Hi my name is XXX. I am from Japan. </p> <p> My hobby is reading.</p> but I do not want to have a pile of "<p></p>" in my code. If you know the shortcut please let me know.

Hello there everyone! Been on FCC now since the last week of Dec working with the basics of Front End. I've utilized a bit more resource outside of FFC such as YouTube channels and Codecademy, etc. to grasp a better understanding and have been exelling quite well. I've finally reached the first Front End challenge and took a moment to realize and ask myself if Front End or Back End is really where I want to go as a software developer. I mean, researching CMS like Wordpress has greatly alleviated the burden of web coding and seems to devalue the skill. I feel maybe I should just jump into another language such as Java or Swift where I could still bring value to the table. Any thoughts or experiences you guys could share?

@MADMAVERICK2223 ok, so after the element name (which for this one is h2), you can put additional information called attributes. So style is one of the attributes, and basically describes the way you want the element to look

style="color: red;"
All attributes (style, class, id, type, etc...) will have the = symbol and then stuff in quotes. For the style one, you are setting a property (color) and a value (red)
you could also put other properties and values inside it, so like style="color: red; width: 300px; background-color: blue;"

Remember that you can apply multiple classes to an element by separating each class with a space within its class attribute. For example:

@GodwinYeboah1 container class is pre-defined in bootstrap. just use it like a normal class. <div class="container-fluid">

Hey. I was doing this challenge, and I was wondering how my code could have been made better. I feel like I solved the challenge in a very bad way.
function getIndexToIns(arr, num) {

  var oldArr = arr.slice();
  num = num.toString();
  arr.push(num);

  arr = arr.sort(function(a, b) {
    return a - b;
  });

  for (var i = 0; i < arr.length; i++) {
    if (typeof arr[i] == "number") {
      arr[i] = 0;
    }
  }

  var numIndex = arr.findIndex(function(val) {
    return val == num.toString();
  });

  return (oldArr.findIndex(function(val) { return val == num; }) >= 0) ? numIndex - 1 : numIndex;
}

Yes I understand that just trying to understand your code. arr.indexOf(num) could do the same thing? Or maybe I don't follow it? @Adam-Morris

  var i=0;
  while (i < arr.length) {
    if (arr[i] >= num) {

  return arr.length;

getIndexToIns([5, 3, 20, 3], 5);

oh nve

Does the fact that you sort your arr not cause an invalid result? @smileytechguy
getIndexToIns([5, 3, 20, 3], 5); => 2 When your expecting 0 right?

If you remove your sort and just do a straight compare it should be right... i think if (arr[i] == num) { @smileytechguy

  arr = arr.sort(function(a, b) {

  });

  return arr.indexOf(num);

Return the lowest index at which a value (second argument) should be inserted into an array (first argument) once it has been sorted. The returned value should be a number.
