Hi. Is anyone familiar with jquery? In one of the first few questions it says to target 1 element and add one class at a time. So I've added this code but it doesn't accept it as the right answer. Any ideas? $("button").addclass("animated");
$(".btn").addclass("shake");
$("#target1").addclass("btn-primary");
Coy Sanders

not for FCC but I imagine yeah

your CSS was fine, you didn't have to do anything further
also only CSS code goes between the <style> tags, and you only really need one set of them
I would go back to what you previously had, and just modify the <img> tag and give it the class
i.e. <img class="yourclass">

your jQuery selector isn't right, and theres too many quotemarks
should be in pairs
you already know how to target an id, you did it when you changed the css color for target1. The selector you need to create is similar to that one
have to leave now for a bit but gl w/ that

@atrainbtown: To indicate that your selector is an id you need to precede it with a #… so #target4. Also your text of target4 is not :100: % correct. Take a look at the actual button with id of target4 to see its text:

<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target4">#target4</button>

@Felipezamudio: You don't add another form … you just add an id attribute in the form element. Remember this:
<img class="smaller-image thick-green-border" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. " src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat">?
You have three attribues for the img element, src, class, and alt. So for your form element, just add an id attribute alongside your action attribute:
<form action="…" id="…">

  }

  return strR;
}

@kalpaz:

Replace the value of your a element's href attribute with a #, also known as a hash symbol, to turn it into a dead link.

href is an attribute and its value is in quotes "value"
so together href="value"… currently your value is a link (http://www.freecatphotoapp.com) … so replace the link with # which will make it dead… so upon clicking it… it will not redirect you anywhere.

"Create a Class to Target with jQuery Selectors

Not every class needs to have corresponding CSS. Sometimes we create classes just for the purpose of selecting these elements more easily using jQuery.

For this we use the target class on the button elements." Anyone on this one?

p {

</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<img class="smaller-image" src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back.">

<style>
.smaller-image {
width: 100px;
}
</style>

Hey! My names Gemma, im having trouble with this one stage, hoping to get some advice!

Now you know three ways of targeting elements: by type: $("button"), by class: $(".btn"), and by id $("#target1").

Although it is possible to add multiple classes in a single .addClass() call, let's add them to the same element in three separate ways.

Using .addClass(), add only one class at a time to the same element, three different ways:

Add the animated class to all elements with type button.

Add the shake class to all the buttons with class .btn.

Add the btn-primary class to the button with id #target1.

Trying to build personal webpage. I don't understand how the example was able to create sections. There is the home section but then how do they create a separate portfolio section with a different background etc. All I can think of is margins?
And then making the navigation bar reference those sections??? Is it this part of the HTML [[[[[ href= "contact.asp"]]]]] that makes it go to that section
