im confused with Let's add a submit button to your form. Clicking this button will send the data from your form to the URL you specified with your form's action attribute.

Here's an example submit button:

<button type="submit">this button submits the form</button>

Add a submit button to your form element with type submit and "Submit" as its text.

@Ahmedmohamedmahmoud ohh. that code is incorrect. but you could fix it. you need to write dot with class. then write css.

you're not changing size @dinobi, nor should you
work through the for loop to see whats going on
write it down on paper if you need to, i do that whenever i have trouble tracking state
Ahmedmohamedmahmoud

Jan 26 2017 00:18

im confused with You can set a checkbox or radio button to be checked by default using the checked attribute.

To do this, just add the word "checked" to the inside of an input element. For example:

<input type="radio" name="test-name" checked>

Set the first of your radio buttons and the first of your checkboxes to both be checked by default.

im confused with this Set the ID of an Element
In addition to classes, each HTML element can also have an id attribute.

There are several benefits to using id attributes, and you'll learn more about them once you start using jQuery.

id attributes should be unique. Browsers won't enforce this, but it is a widely agreed upon best practice. So please don't give more than one element the same id attribute.

Here's an example of how you give your h2 element the id of cat-photo-app:

<h2 id="cat-photo-app">

Give your form element the id cat-photo-form.

and ive got<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
}

h2 {
font-family: Lobster, Monospace;
}

p {
font-size: 16px;
font-family: Monospace;
}

.thick-green-border {
border-color: green;
border-width: 10px;
border-style: solid;
border-radius: 50%;
}

.smaller-image {
width: 100px;
}
.silver-background {
background-color: silver;
}
</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p>Click here for <a href="#">cat photos</a>.</p>

<a href="#"><img class="smaller-image thick-green-border" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. " src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat"></a>

</ul>
<p>Top 3 things cats hate:</p>
<ol>
<li>flea treatment</li>
<li>thunder</li>
<li>other cats</li>
</ol>
</div>

ur style section looks something like this

<style>
   body {
      background-color: black;
      font-family: Monospace;
      color: green;
  }
....
</style>

@Hkremer2310
in that section u have some CSS rules like .red-text, .smaller-image <-- have a dot prepended mean those are classes
also u have some rules with p , h2, body <-- those do not have dot... but they are html elements tag names.. similar to form
soo if u wanna change/apply some "styling" to ur form..
inside the <style> section (u already have)
u need to define

form {
   // set properties here.. like background-color
   //and whatever value it u want
}

just like the body example above... same pattern different tag name/properties

@Geremaih are you using Codepen?
badalsaibo
@heyDante

@Geremaih you can define a class for your p elements inside <style> tags.
Vizij
@Vizij
Jan 26 2017 02:58
@Geremaih You have everything but the selector you need. See your .red-text class declaration in <style>? You need a p where your second declaration starts, it's not hooked to anything right now.

@heyDante

@Geremaih Like, inside the <style> tags. Between <style> and </style>. Everything inside <style> qualifies as CSS. So you're writing CSS like this:
.red-text { /* This is a selector. It has a period in front of it, so it's a class. */
  color: red;
}
{ /* Oops! There's curly brackets here, but no selector before them. We need to put something here. */
  font-size: 16px;
}

@Geremaih I think the lesson auto-adds it for you, but when you do it yourself, you put it inside the <head> of your html. (Not taught on FCC, but it's really basic stuff)
(There's no <head> in the lessons so don't worry about that)

@Vizij
Jan 26 2017 03:33
@Mike404040 It can be (in an external file), but if you have the <style> section in your HTML, you can just put it inside there.
@Geremaih Okay, copy paste the link at the very top, before anything else. When you're using a font, you're adding the font-family: property in CSS. Look over your p declaration inside <style> to see how that works. Your value for it should be the font name you're using.

@Naufaldi - Still here? I just figured that one out myself. It's saying that instead of ("animated shake") it should just be ("shake"). Give that a shot, it worked for me. I thought it should be animated shake, because that's what it was before, and that's what it looks like it should be in the next challenge, but the only way I could get past it was by only having one class (shake, versus 2 animated and shake) in each line.

you're welcome! @rebmachild

I'm struggling with Overriding Class Declarations by Styling id Attributes. The h1 needs to be orange and it is but for some reason, I'm still getting an error. <style>
body {
background-color: black;
font-family: Monospace;
color: green;
}
.pink-text {
color: pink;
}
.blue-text {
color: blue;

orange-text {color: orange;}

</style>

<h1 class="pink-text blue-text"><h1 id="orange-text">Hello World!</h1>

@linsy22689 the primary purpose of the span element as depicted by MDN:
generic inline container for phrasing content, which does not inherently represent anything. It can be used to group elements for styling purposes (using the class or id attributes), or because they share attribute values, such as lang.
similar to the reason we use div for things such as rows
only difference is that <span> is inline, and <div> is not

@InigoCasillas good luck buddy!
@newbee45 ok looked at the exercise.. it's the radio buttons you need to nest in 2 divs of 6
these two:
<label><input type="radio" name="indoor-outdoor"> Indoor</label>
  <label><input type="radio" name="indoor-outdoor"> Outdoor</label>
@newbee45 with a row div around them
the three buttons I was mentioning are in an earleir exercise.. and are col-xs-4...
